Who would you realistically like to see at the helm?

I keep banging the drum for Garry Monk although in League one I’m a little less convinced this is a realistic appointment.Although if he views Blackpool as a championship club that are underachieving he could be tempted. He has been out of management for the last couple of years and looks to have focussing on his player development business which offers clubs platforms to monitor the development of their players and academy players or developing young players with a view to gaining places in club academies (I’ve only briefly looked into it)

So with the long term focus at Blackpool to be using our academy more and developing our own players coming through and also his connections with identifying young talent both here and in the states it could be of benefit to the clubs long term plans.

Or he could be happy doing what he doing and isn’t interested in a return to management.

Holds a UEFA Pro Licence, the highest UEFA coaching qualification and one of the few British managers to have completed it outside England

Took over at Swansea in Feb 2014 and managed to keep them in the Premier League

Got the permanent job at end of season as a result and took them to their highest ever finish of eighth in the prem

Following season didn’t go as well and one win in eleven saw him sacked before Christmas.Swansea were 15th at the time

Took over at Leeds following season and had them in the play off positions right through until the end where they dropped off in the run in and narrowly missed out on the play offs

Leeds were bought out at the end of that season and after a solid league finish was offered a one year extension to which he resigned

Following season he took the Middlesbrough job but was gone by Christmas

End of that season he took on the job at relegation threatened Birmingham City and managed to keep them up

Following season under a transfer embargo he took them to top ten position but form dropped off towards the end of the season and Birmingham were additionally hit with a nine point deduction which saw them finish in 17th place

Following season some of Brums better players were sold much to Monks dissatisfaction which led to friction between him and the board. He rejected a contract and was sacked before the season began

Monk quickly got another opportunity at Sheffield Wednesday at the beginning of the season and took them to a 16th place finish. He was sacked in the November of the following season with the club second bottom.

So he is a manager with good Championship experience, proven record of keeping clubs in the league with minimal games, highly qualified in coaching and recently has links to developing young players.

Yeah another one for Wellens.

Probably not my ideal choice but realistically, I think he would be keen on a move back up north and seems to play in a way us fans would appreciate.

I’m liking what I see & hear from Dobbie thus far - if he can get a few results going, I’d like to think we can take a view at the end of the season.

It’d certainly be positive to have someone in place who genuinely cares about the club & who looks to have an understanding of how to deliver ‘the Blackpool way’.

Scott Brown has done a great job at the Cods to get them mid table, had them down as almost relegation certainties this season. Time for a step up to a bigger club/budget
Good shout , he's impressed at Fleetwood. Just don't think Sadler will be wanting to pay compensation for anybody.

From what I am seeing and hearing from Stephen Dobbie, he is certainly one to think about . Pete Wild also seems to fit the bill , but I don’t have to appoint the manager and I won’t be at the interviews so I’ll leave it to those in charge .

Realistically I’d get Critchley back. Got us up first time last time and if backed I don’t see why he can’t do it again.
No problem with Wellens although I don’t get the clamour given he has a patchy record in the lower leagues.
The barrow manager could be a decent shout aswell.

NO MORE RETURNING MANAGERS. And yes I am shouting, we have been bitten twice by previous managers. Surely we have learnt by now.

Who royally ballsed up with Appleton and McCarthy 🤔
Not everyone is as perfect as you Wizzer, theyre only human , and we humans do make mistakes every now and then . I’ll start to worry if they keep making the same mistakes over and over again .

You’ve obviously not watched them. His budget is comfortably top half and with the squad and players at his disposal I’d even go so far as to say he’s underachieving. The Critch for me

Grayson,Appleton, McCarthy, that’s three out of four. Pretty poor strike rate I would say, if I was you I would start to worry.

Couldn't give a toss but whoever gets the gig I'll be 100% behind them.
It's pathetic that some make a judgement before they've even managed a singe game.

Who'd have thought Ayre,Grayson(first time),Holloway and Critchley would have been a success it's a lottery whoever you bring in.

Gary Monk is a good shout, we could do a lot worse.

Wellens has been my first choice for a while now but if Dobbie can keep us playing like the first half at Luton then we may get some positive results & perfomances these last 5 games and he would have to be a front runner, if he wants it of course.

Brian Barry-Murphy for me. Known for playing good football at Rochdale and has been Man City Under 23's coach for quite a while now. He'll be aware of plenty of good young players. Every year many are out of contract and he will be able to know who are the best and bring them into the club. Worked for us with Bowler and Grimshaw and the club needs to get back to that model.

Appleton. Got dealt a bad hand. Deserves another shot.

If that fails we should sack him really late in the season when it's too late, and bring in a no nonsense manager with a track record for keeping teams up. Like McCarthy.

🤔
