Why are children given stupid names

If you want something unique, don't choose Muhammad...the most popular boy's name in England. You don't see many Trevors kicking about these days in the playground, seems a perfectly good name to me and well represented in England teams over the years
 
In fact here's a good one for someone with access to a decent research grant and a bit of time on their hands....rank the boys names in order of most England caps. Your Bobby's are gonna be up there, Billy's of course. Could even go one step further and calculate it on a per capita basis. Eg Trevor might come out on top because I'd guess there's not millions of then about, but they're well represented at England level.
