I heard it was because there was a tunnel underneath the pitch that led to the Winter Gardens .
We were allowed one season’s grace. Had we stayed up we would have had to have it. I recall over the Christmas period we lost a few games to the weather when we were in good form. Small margins but could have made a difference.Did we not put in under soil heating under the Stains as it was mandatory to be a Premier club?
There is meant to be a tunnel from the tower to Raikes Parade I have been told.I heard it was because there was a tunnel underneath the pitch that led to the Winter Gardens .
With a diversion off to the Tower.I heard it was because there was a tunnel underneath the pitch that led to the Winter Gardens .
Why would you have an automatic system without a manual override, to either turn it on or permanently off, that takes some believing. These systems are warm water circulating through a labyrinth of pipes. Now all outdoor systems that could freeze have glycol antifreeze added, so it shouldn't be a problem with the temperatures we generally get around here, even if switched off. We haven't got it for one reason & it begins with O.Because it's bloody expensive to run you'd be lucky to get away with 2-3k a day maybe more with the current energy costs.
And here's the kicker you can't switch it off, when the temperature goes below a certain degree even though you might not have a game for a fortnight it switches on.
Ten day cold snap in December here's a whopping great energy bill.
There's a tunnel from my back garden to the ground, as it passes through part of the pitch it now makes sense why I have to duck just before the end. It's that bloody gas pipe.I heard it was because there was a tunnel underneath the pitch that led to the Winter Gardens .
