Why not Bowler

WIZARD OF TANGERINE

Just a matter of what people think , but with Aston Villa struggling and Critchley knowing Bowler inside out , why would Villa not come in for him . I know Crichley is not the manager ,but Gerrard must be under pressure , I would have thought a good attacker at a reasonable price would be helpful in their situation . That is unless Critchley does not think Bowler good enough.

I said on another thread that it wouldn't be long before people started to slag Bowler off. Something you've been pretty consistent in doing for a good while now. Here you try to justify it by attaching it to Critchley. Shameful really.

I have only put my opinion across and I still stand by it and that he is probably the most talented player and most entertaining. I still say he is also greedy at times and he would be a better player if he let the ball go earlier instead of taking on extra players and losing it . I also don't think asking a valid question on this website is a slagging . Your entitled to your opinion even though it has nothing to do with what I asked . Maybe the question was too hard.

nope, your post was clearly loaded. As for "slagging" Bowler off, well if you don't consider saying "** greedy Bowler" to be slagging him off then fair enough. Or perhaps that "we need to get rid of him as soon as possible" too. You don't rate Bowler, that's clear but like I said you are trying to justify that by linking it to Critchley. You've been slagging him off for months. At least have the guts to own your comments.

I'll make one final point. No mention of you wishing him well is there? Just the criticism which I predicted would come on!

Yeah they don't use wingers at Villa so whether or not they think him good enough is moot.

"I wish him well" seeing as you have to say that apparently?

Oh come on gray, I'm simply highlighting the point that a long standing critic of a Blackpool player would rather choose to have a final dig at him rather than wish him well in his future career.

Why would Bowler sign for Forest if they are shipping him out to Olympiakos.
The lad wants to showcase his talents in the English Premier league not the Greek one.
By the time he gets back Forest will probably be down.
He would be better off staying with us, professionally. Not financially obviously!

I think forest will drop like a stone signing that many players they are like kids in toyshop who have found a platinum credit card remember Malcolm Allison spending millions on players at city and most failed horribly.
Really hope forest get relegated

I try in all my post to put constructive arguments and criticism down . I never write outright slagging like "** greedy Bowler" and have criticized others for doing so. When I have had a go at Bowler its usually because he has cost us a potential goal scoring chance through not releasing the ball and as you say I have been doing it for months because he has been doing it for months. I also think Blackpool have made the right decision by getting £4 million that if we had kept hold of him ,we would have nothing . In respect to your comments , you still seem to be having trouble answering the question . If you cant ,then let it lie . I personally think that Critchley thinks the same as me and he does not release the ball early enough. Anyway I am sure he will prove himself one way or another at Forest.

To be honest I think with a more rounded and less greedy right winger we will be better as a team. Many of our attacks come down that side but he doesn't really have that many assists for our strikers, who don't score that many goals and we always blame the service, which, because it normally comes from the right, is basically down to his shit service balls and shooting greediness...

Think he'll flop at florist.

Probs end up back here on loan at some point😅

I think if you check your posting history I think you'll find you did say those words about him although I acknowledge it wasn't in the normal context. So yep i also acknowledge you try to be constructive in your criticism. Pretty much every forward thinking player costs us potential goal scoring chances so although I understand your point I think it's extremely harsh to single him out when it's pretty clear like I've said many times, the opposition more often than not double up on marking him. That will be discussed in their pre-match preparations. I doubt they pay the same respect to pretty much every other player in our squad. Do you ever consider factoring that into your views and how difficult it can be for him? Do you ever factor in to your views that when Bowler gets the ball that we rarely have a player who tries to get close to him to make themselves available to receive a pass? Personally, I think it's remarkable that he manages to beat so many closely marking defenders that he does. So I'm not one for criticising him when he loses the ball. And of course I have to acknowledge that his final ball could often be better than it is. There again, I've recently seen Lavery trying to cross a ball into the box or pass to a player and that leaves a lot to be desired.
I'll also add that I've never really got involved in the debate as to Bowlers value and keeping him or letting him go because of the circumstances with regards to time left on his contract. Think the only time I've specified an amount is that if he still had a three year contract or so my view is that he'd be worth upwards of 10 million.

As for answering your question, well Critchley isn't the ultimate deciding factor at Villa. And it's stating the obvious that many managers move onwards and upwards without feeling the need to go back to former teams to buy their players. I've always tended to focus on Bowler as a Blackpool player and what he has done for us. And for me, he's got me out of my seat so many times and he is up there with the very best of great Blackpool players who with the ball at their feet had an uncanny ability to beat opposition players with such ease. I know your username contains the word "wizard" Well Stanley Matthews was the 'wizard of dribble' so i don't know if your username was a deliberate reference to those skills but if so you should be able to appreciate what an art form and difficult skill it is. Especially in todays age.

You have made a number of good points that I agree with , but in respect to the number of defenders that surround him ,then this is even more reason to release the ball when the opportunity falls . I also believe that because of his ability to beat players and make exciting runs he gets peoples attention and I don't think they realise that Yates or Madine are there with him awaiting the ball on regular occasions . I have never meant to disrespect Bowler ,but I have found him frustrating and on a total tangent I prefer Motown to S and G although I do like Bridge Over Troubled Water and the Boxer.

Great players can often be frustrating but I find it best to focus on the great things he's done rather than be too critical of the occasional bad things.
