Why tightening restrictions wont work

.....because there are too many stupid people out there.

Woman in front of me at the checkout, wearing her mask under her nose, proceeds to take it off to lick her fingers so she can count her bank notes. Transfers her germs onto the bank notes and to the checkout operator, and anyone fortunate enough to handle those notes over the coming few days.

Unbelievable Geoff.

Last time I went to a supermarket, a mother and father had decided to make it a family day out with a couple of kids running around playing in the aisles. It's 10 months now since this began and the thickest people still don't do the basics to reduce risk.

I totally agree. I've just had a positive covid test yesterday. It's been fairly simple to narrow it down to a building I visited on Friday on a work issue, although I can't be 100% sure. A colleague of mine who was with me has also tested positive.
They'd had 9 positive cases in the building but decided not to tell us when we turned up. They then let us stay in the building all day. If they had informed us as they should have done, I would have walked away and not gone in. Same with my colleague.
Add that sort of behaviour to that of the general public out and about and it's no wonder we're seeing so many cases.

Too many carrying on as normal and just can't get into good habits.
Still see many neighbours having visitors (friends / workmen) coming to their houses, which is OK, however they just shake hands / hug and walk in without masks.
Isn't that mixing households, without taking proper precautions?

If I were you Rusty I'd be reporting whoever is in charge of this building to the authorities.
Admitting you to the building KNOWING that there is a strong possibility that you could get covid is totally irresponsible on their behalf.
Am I right in saying that anywhere where there's a large gathering that results in an outbreak of covid has to be deep cleansed?

I'm not sure about the cleaning wizzer. But they shouldn't have let us in that's for sure. Or they should at least have told us about the virus being present. I've sent through the information to the relevant people.

WTF😱 and this will be happening all over the country!

I remember after the first lockdown getting a train from Blackpool to Manchester. Walked onto the platform with my mask on and a couple in front of me without masks, conducter shouts to them:

C: "Can you put your masks on please"
Woman: "He doesn't have to, he has a medical condition"
C: "Well can you put yours on then?"

With a grumble she took her mask out, and was fumbling with it as we got onto the carriage. I noticed she put it back in her pocket so I made sure to sit on the other side and away from 'em. They sat on a table across and a bit down, on the set of seats directly infront of them was an old woman with a mask around her neck..

Is it really that hard to wear a mask for an hour and a half whilst on a train if you have no medical condition? I am asthmatic and have no problem with it, it reminds me of an almost child-like rebellious attitude

Far, far too many people know they can't be challenged about not wearing a mask.
It is one of the most ludicrous things to have come about from this whole situation.

You can't park in a disabled space without a badge, and you would likely be ticketed for doing so....... yet daring to ask someone why they aren't wearing a mask is infringing every human right and then some.

Get well soon and hopefully you'll have a mild case.

Sorry to hear that. Pretty disgusting.

Look after yourself Rusty

It's not good shandy. And this is possibly happening in thousands of other places all over the country
I know we both work in construction. The last couple of months it's become a joke on site. I was on a big site in Manchester two weeks ago, nine storey residential new build with a single stair. No one gave a toss, four of them got in a lift without masks, I declined

I think the construction industry has been one of the worst for following the guidelines tbh

Hope you have a really mild case rusty, keep us informed how you are and look after yourself.

As per the others...get well soon.

Get well soon. I know we've had spats but it's just a difference of opinion. I'm off to Manchester again tomorrow and it's getting to the point where I'm thinking whether it's worth it?
Shandy, I would think very carefully about it. And if you do go ffs be as careful as you can. With the gift of hindsight, I wouldn't have gone anywhere near that building. Having said that, I still think you're a good for nothing raving communist 😉 Take care commie.
Guys, thanks so much to all of you for all your good wishes. They are truly appreciated.

Unfortunately the UK has some of the most irresponsible and stupid people who choose to ignore the rules and know that our law enforcement have no more authority than traffic wardens.

Get well soon Rusty 👍 Keep us updated .

Rusty, a friends son who works in construction in oxford caught the virus 6 months ago, thought it was ok after the fortnight's isolation on doctors advice.
Since then he's had no end of problems in and out of hospital and at the moment is being monitored for fluid on the lungs.

He's 35 has adhered to all the guidelines and has still caught it.

Hope all goes well at your end mate👍🏻

Yes that's the worry wizzer. I know somebody who's breathing is still a bit dodgy six months after having the virus. Early days, but up to now I'm ok. Thanks for your wishes. 👍

Take care Rusty and when they offer you political correction jabs- snatch their hand off, unless of course the only people available to give it were lepers.
