Will Appleton quit?

a valid question perhaps. But consider this. By doing that what effect would it have on Sadler and the board knowing basically that the fans had "won" and he had no control over it. If I were in Sadlers position I'd be pretty pissed off and a great deal of respect for the fans would be lost!

The one thing that isn’t happening is him quitting.
I’m not reading to much into that tweet. I think he just wasn’t responding to someone who he probably believed was having a pop and didn’t want to get embroiled.
I can’t say I’d be upset if he got sacked. We would still be in profit from the money we got from Villa for Critchley.

What would the person who Tweeted that expect?

MA did the right thing in that scenario, not so much during the game.

But he isn't going to quit, he'll think he's capable of changing things when he gets his full team back.

If he quits, he loses out on the compensation that he would receive from his 4 year contract.

Same with most managers.
One of the few jobs, where you get handsomely rewarded for being fired.

Ignore the sausage fingers above reply,a positive comment towards the players is the least they deserve I thought they worked really hard after the sending off, he’s capable of turning it around but if he’s telling you to enjoy the weekend it’s taking the piss.I didn’t want him & now I don’t want him out because we aren’t the sort of club that can attract someone better at the moment, he can turn it around with the help of the board & at least some money in January, was the chap on the bus grimshaw?
What a mess, I wish I liked another sport but I don’t so I’m stuck with this

He wont quit...thats why he is here on a 4 year contract...the board knew they needed someone with thick skin who could take the stick and not moan when there is no budget.

SS a self made millionaire isn’t stupid enough to give an out of work manager a 4 year contract without clauses, he hasn’t even managed in the championship before , ok Blackburn but I’ve had illnesses that lasted longer than his tenure there,I have absolutely no idea as I’m not ikn but I’d guess he has some sort of clause that says he can be sacked and receive say 25% of his remaining contact if we find ourselves in the relegation zone at the halfway point of the season, anyway you’re still right it’s a win win situation for managers regardless of clauses

Pity the author of the blog didn’t speak to Ekpiteta and ask him why he had a rush of blood which got him a straight red and put us on the back foot and inevitably lost us the game .

I reckon he might be trying that new phenomenon called "quiet quitting" where basically you quit your job but don't tell anyone and just carry on coming in and collecting your money. Only explanation i can think off given his lack of substitutions on saturday....

He hasn’t lost the fanbase. There’s a lot of people who want to give him time .
A difficult season ahead and was from the very start but I am prepared to give him more time and I don’t just mean 4 or 5 games.Sacking managers has just become too much of a norm.We are hardly cut adrift.
Nor do I believe he has lost the players ( there was no shortage of effort on Saturday )as some are suggesting but each to their own as they say.

He has though, a big portion of it. I think fans will always support the players but we probably need unity to stay up.
The fanbase is split, he hasn’t lost it. There is also a big portion who don’t want him to go, read the threads.

He's lost enough of it to think he's in real danger.

We've seen already since he's been here people don't connect with him, atmospheres been flat, that was with people trying to like him, with half the fanbase against him, others lukewarm, some on his side still, its not going to be better.

Just not sure a team can survive with lukewarm support at best.

OK we back the team, but if anything goes wrong it'll be toxic.
