Will you watch Harry’s Netflix Show

No interest in Royalty so won't be watching it. Him having sort of left the Royal family does highlight how silly it all is, they all live like top celebrities yet have no discernible talent, bit like the Kardashians.

Just seen itv news where Meghan is mocking having to courtesy to the queen and Harry is laughing at it. Now whether you think having to courtesy to anyone is wrong, I find this offensive. Stay away you attention seeking, money grabbing scumbags

Easily offended aren’t you, Alf 😱

Just started watching, expected to give it twenty minutes but I watched the full episode, I did find it a bit cringeworthy to start with but I ended up just feeling sorry for them. Yes they have money and privilege but the level of harassment is off the scale, I honestly don't know how they deal with it and I wouldn't take any amount of money to live like that.

Just watched this bit and she isn't mocking, she was just explaining how surreal it was and how she wasn't sure how to act, it wasn't disrespectful at all.

I came into this with no opinion, I thought it was intriguing to see what the fuss was about. If people do have strong opinions on the two of them I'd recommend giving it a watch, I'm taking it all with a pinch of salt but it's eye opening and they don't seem like bad people.

GSTK and fuck the republic. Jeez, have you yourself been critical of todays politicians and you want one of them to be head of the country. Thanks but no thanks. The Monarchy is the figurehead for everything that is great about the country.
And so say all of us! You've got to say, they do a good stamp. As for the coins....classic. Castles, yep, they do those well. Red carpets, waving....don't forget the waving, class stuff. And all that upper class disdain....there's no country does it better.

Would that be the in-breeding, the tax dodging, the fascist leanings in the 30s or perhaps the predatory interest in young girls?
Is this the renaissance of basilrobbie? Are you the real basilrobbie or some fake new one who also likes to sit in judgement with your posturing. World Cup seems to be going rather well doesn't it? You never did get back to me about my comments on your views on the Iran situation when comparing it to the England captain not wearing the armband.

And guess what, there are many thousands of people like the type you describe in all walks of life. But as you well know, I was talking about the Monarchy being a figurehead for this country as opposed to it becoming a republic which was the gist of my reply.

What do you do well 66? Apart from moan that that not as many as you would like have the extreme socialist views that you have. You seem to revel in the misery that you were born into working class and that you know your place. It seems to influence your whole outlook on life but I guess that's what politics can do for you. I was born into a working class family and brought up on a council estate but so what? I couldn't give a monkeys about the upper class, the middle class, whatever that is, or the working class. We're only on this planet for a short time, so I've worked hard and like to think I can enjoy myslef and be happy. Fuck how many millions other people have or what their views are, I'm just happy to be me and get on with living the rest of my life with my family and friends.

I do apologise 66 for seemingly being over personal. I just feel that unlike you I don't have this chip on my shoulder about people who have been born into a wealthier or so called more priveleged life than me. Those people and their lives have no impact on me and how Iive my life. So I don't begrudge them it.

I find it hard to believe that she didn’t know how to act, she will have been briefed fully, by both Harry and his aides. She’s an actress after all, so she must have rehearsed.

I agree. I’ve watched the first episode and part of the second and may go back to it.

The criticism so far has been directed at the tabloid press, the paparazzi and the hate directed at Meghan on social media. And lots of parallels to how Di was treated. Let’s face it she was relentlessly harassed and essentially killed by the paparazzi.

There’s little comment on the Royal Family and what there is, is limited to the institution rather than any individuals. Maybe that’ll come in later episodes but nothing so far.

Overall view is that it’s a bit boring frankly and the American accents of Meghan’s friends grate a bit, but it’s a useful corrective to the bile we get from the likes of Piers Morgan and lots of the press over here. A bit of balance that’s much needed and worth watching if only for that.

There’s a lot of guesswork in that. I saw no disrespect from them and they explained the process and that there was no briefing, Harry just explained on the way and she was understandably nervous. I imagine most people are when meeting their boyfriend’s grandmother and especially if it’s the Queen!

In a funny way I quite like your post. All the stuff about you being content with your lot is fine and I'm glad you're happy with it. The way you perceive me is wrong in some ways but then it's your perception so there's no need to apologise. At least it's not insulting.
For the record, my socialist views are not extreme - firmly held, yes but not extreme. Indeed I'm rather social democratic these days. I've also travelled and mingled with people from all walks of life and I can fit in OK in a breadth of situations - as can lots of other people, it's no special gift.

My bugbear is the smothering acceptance of class across the country, along with a petty nationalism and general belief among many that life under the rule of corporate elites is a given. As a nation we should be more outward looking and more tolerant of others, without feeling a need to throw up borders - geographically or culturally.

Interesting one that. I’m no royalist as you know, however like any organisation there’s rules and customs.

So either suck it up and follow the rules or don’t be part of it and don’t make comment. Once again pure hypocrisy- I’m assuming she’d be cool with no bowing or highness title if Harry has become King?

“Hey I’m Meg and this is Hal, no need to call us King and Queen Consort. Fist bump will do sista”

Just seen itv news where Meghan is mocking having to courtesy to the queen and Harry is laughing at it. Now whether you think having to courtesy to anyone is wrong, I find this offensive. Stay away you attention seeking, money grabbing scumbag

It really was a non-issue on the show, they were just talking about differences in their cultures, she wasn't complaining about it so I think being labelled a hypocrite for that comment is very harsh.

She is just talking about it being a bit out of the ordinary, which it would be for the vast majority of people.

I love it when the ill-informed have their collective moments in the sun on here

Neither curtsying nor bowing are obligatory when confronted by the monarch. A simple handshake is perfectly acceptable

It just seems that some people are content to bow and scrape their way through life in awe of an increasingly irrelevant monarchy

The thing that interests me about this Netflix series, and I've not seen it I've just read a bit in the newspapers, is Harry doesn't mention the class system in the UK. He focuses on race because it's an easier story to sell in the USA. There are race issues in every country but my guess would be race issues are worse in America than here.
Most of us would be like a fish out of water if we married into the Royal family, race would have nothing to do with it.
Although he's highly unlikely to criticise the class system as it is the thing that makes him superficially superior to most other people.

🙄 That’s covered in episode four where he dresses as a pearly king and admits to an affair with the lovely Kate, god bless her future majesty

How fecking ridiculous does this look ….. or was she just taking the piss out of her mum’s lack of inches

perhaps, no, no doubt, the ill informed one is you. Let's face it you, adapt your avatar so it's designed to be offensive. Your previous post proving it.

fair enough.

Is a fist bump ok these days?

Harry earned my respect for his military action and knowing people who served with him, he had their full respect.

What he's doing now is financially setting his family up for life, which every single person on this thread would do too. Stinks of hypocrisy to be honest.

I wouldn't stitch up my extended family to make a load of money. Maximum payout for the pair of them with minimum skill or effort or thought for other people.
Many of us do proper hard graft for 50 years to look after our families in a modest but honest way. I'm not a royalist and I can see why the British Windsors are upset with the American branch of the family, doesn't even have the faint whiff of hypocrisy to my nose!

Not even if I had a gun pointed at my head would I watch this shite.
I ended up holding the gun at my own head..!

My good lady had it on when I traipsed downstairs after having had an energy saving 'submariners shower'...... (turn water on, get wet, turn water off, soap up, turn water on, then quickly turn off after de-soaping...!)

My own impression of the Royal/not Royal panto is that it was good to see the privacy seeking (but on their terms, and when it suits) couple are 'slumming it' in that there Califorrrr-ni-aaaay, (and there can't be anybody really called Silver Tree, or rusty bush, whatever she was called..!), and finally, there's nowt like making sure that us 'erks well and truly know our place at the bottom end of the social class pyramid, as yet another former polo playing Etonian gets wheeled out to espouse what a 'bloody good egg 'H' is....

Not been well received and surely at the top of Netflix the bosses are asking “who thought it was a good idea to dish out lots of cash to these two idiots”

Don't think it's all their fault tbh.

Im sure it isn't, loads of factors involved, let's be honest the whole world of monarchy, aristocracy, inherited titles and wealth is a bit weird in the 21st century. I'm not surprised that she has struggled with it.
Media are the root cause of a lot of problems in this world.

If you watch the whole clip, you'd know that she was actually taking the piss out of herself.

Personally I think Harry has no Royal blood in him.
I think it was one of Di's chaps who is the father.
Does he look like William? No.
Does he look like any of the Royal Family?
No.
They should 'steal' some of his DNA and find the truth.
And I think he knows this, hence his attitude.
Yep. Of course we will always wonder. And if he knows it, so does everyone else in the close circle of the monarchy. But it's a secret better kept in than let out.

Why when he's giving the Royal Family shit?
Get it out into the open that he's not one of them by blood.
Because, although I think Harry has been brainwashed by his love for Meghan making him extremely spiteful, the spite in that coming out if it were true would be on another level.

Harry was born only three years after Diana’s wedding. On that timeline there is a very good chance that Charles is his father I should think. I did read that there is ginger hair on his mother’s side, and at least his bald patches are similar to Charles.

The Hen Harrier murdering toff can do one as far as I'm concerned. Another thing, why do American women nearly all sound like Chinese ducks these days? Cyndi Lauper gets a pass here.

The body language guy on YouTube said today that the latest taster for the next release tomorrow has The Queens wonderful 1947 speech dedicating her life to her subjects and the imperial family and Megan( it’s all done by her) doctored the queens speech to miss out the bit about her subjects to stress the imperial British past. Amazing to sink so low surely the crown must take action against Harry & Megan and grubby Netflix

Hi Recidivis3 your obviously a republican and I respect your views and presume you would be happy with President Blair but I am a royalist so why can’t you respect my views with resorting to calling me a bastard ?

🙄 Are you saying that Andrew is the curse of Tutenkamen 2.0 and that Queenie shagged her racing manager

😱

i must start watching The Crown

How can you say that about Hewitt’s lad? 😁

How can you say that about Hewitt’s lad? 😁

She didn’t meet Hewitt until a couple of years after Harry was born apparently.
Her first official liason was with a police protector also well after Harry’s birth.
Granted there is room for unofficial information that we don’t know, but given the press scrutiny and the observed life that Diana was no doubt living at the time then Charles is the most likely father?
