Wimbledon v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 27.10.20

Squad looks pretty good, looks attack minded and Kemp in particular will want to impress starting especially as there’s likely someone from West Ham in the stands. Sarkic can stake a claim too. Yates and Woodburn are nice options from the bench !

I quite like the look of that line up, but I would be a bit worried that we have three players in Kemp, Sarkic and Kaikai that might have been more effective coming off the bench. Hope this doesn’t prove to be the case.

Wimbledon scored 4 against Plymouth but not scored many in other games. Don't concede many excepting that 4-4 with Plymouth. We don't do away wins (very often), and although defence is showing signs of improvement we need to create far more, and have more shots before I can confidently predict an away win. A nil nil or 1-1 for me.

That’s a very attacking line up and appears a lot more balanced than previous games.

Theres a lot to like about it.

If we fail to get more than 3 shots on target with this line up I’m not sure where we go from here.

Don't mind that team.

Glad Kemp is being given a chance and think he'll be able to provide more options and fluidity going forward.

I think Sarkic is being brought in due to injury to Keshi and lack of fitness to Woodburn, but I think he might do well there.

He showed good signs of linking the front 3 and midfield during his 45 minute cameo against Accrington so hopefully he'll be able to help create more going forward tonight in the number 9 role.

Glad about Kemp , think this lad is decent
think he should of maybe started more
I can’t make my mind up on Sarkic

one thing thou , back 4 stays the same with Williams

We really do have good options off the bench particlarly with CJ against a tiring team.
We just need to make sure we stay solid and are still in the game on 70 minutes.

I’m reserving judgement on that team. Hope it’s not another case of 90 minutes feeling like 9000 minutes. Fingers crossed for 3pts.

Chopping and changing hasn’t done us much good so far, and I can’t get away from the feeling he’s a tinker man, but I do think these changes coupled with a bit of stability at the back have a chance of working. Hope I’m not jinxing it!

Looking at the lineup again I think it might be Robson and Williams partnered deep with Sarkic then a little bit deeper than Kaikai/Kemp, and then Madine a little further forward than the rest of them?

It's good to see a bit of innovation up front. Will it click tonight? Maybe not. We will see. Sarkic had a good season in League One last season so people shouldn't be writing him off. Needs a run of games. We are getting some stability in defence and midfield, be good to see some progress up front tonight.

Come in the Pool!

Kemp and Sarkic are technically good players so it'll be interesting to see how they fare. I prefer Madine to lead the line as he holds play up better and is more likely to get on the end of crosses than an out of sorts Yates. MJ and Robson play a pivotal part, they not only need to break play up but they need to also supply enough ball to the front 3 in the final 3rd. The result will determine if the changes are good, the coach should have a clear idea on who is fully fit and most likely to cause Wimbledon problems.

Well, let’s see, but I can’t fathom what he’s trying to do or how he wants us to play from game to game.

It looks like we’ll go long to Madine, so we have to get players closer to him.

Away from home, I’d have gone with the pace of CJ, but looking forward to seeing Kemp start.

Great track playing.

The real Dons will be set up to frustrate keeping it very tight, 0-0 at 70 mins bring In Woodburn CJ and Yates on against tired legs.

Looks to me like he thinks Madine will hold it up better, allowing us to counter attack with a little more confidence. Big gamble to leave out CJ.
