Wintle recalled

Remember when we lost Shelvey back to Liverpool early a few years back?

I think the clause has always been in there, they don't usually get activated because the players are usually not part of the first team picture at their parent club, but sometimes you get a spate of injuries and that changes.

I think clubs are going to have a tough time signing new players this window, clubs are going to call back pretty much anyone who might be on the fringe of the first team, possibly the situation will stabilise at the end of the month and there might be some movement then but that's far from certain.
That must be true to a great extent. We will be looking to move some players on though, and I'm sure other clubs will too. Prem clubs will have some lads who really need proper football after half a season of non competitive stuff and who are simply not ready for the EPL. For example.

You could see in some of the club videos how well Wintle had integrated into the squad. A shame really because he had developed a good partnership with Dougall. I think Connolly is a whole hearted player but lacks that bit of extra quality for a Championship level midfielder.

Shame, the lad has fitted in like he has been a Blackpool player for years. Wasnt the word going around that he wants to come back North so maybe something can be salvaged?

Really disappointing news; he and Dougall have been excellent.

Hopefully we will fill the gap or, you never know, we might just pull a blinder and sign him.

Think we may need a new cm in. I wanted one even if we'd kept Wintle but having now lost him I think we are in need quite badly. Connolly will just be a steady 5 player, Stewart would be great but I'm not convinced he will play enough, Ward will be okay but is still injured and I'm afraid I don't think Virtue will be good enough especially coming back from acl injury.
Gutted although I had expected it

Perhaps, Morison will have a look at Wintle and, if he doesn't see him as what he needs, or signs someone else, let him come back later in January. Probably not but you never know!

I think Antwi can make it given time and patience. He needs to make more appearances off the bench though to develop in competitive matches
He's been playing competitive matches for Telford and likely to go back out on loan this month I suspect.

Why have they bothered recalling Wintle then?
They will have had their club watching him over the season.
They know hes a decent player and with covid not going away for some time he'll be a great addition to their squad.

New manager reassessment period. Might decide not to keep them. I bet he's told them all he wants to look at them all and work out his 25 for Feb 1st onwards.

Alternatively they want as many bodies as possible in case of further Covid outbreaks.

Because of what I said.

Cometh the hour cometh the man. That man might already be here... Stranger things have happened.
Or, as is the most likely scenario, there is someone out there on Critch's radar who is not even registering a blip on ours.
Quite a few doing alright this season who most of us hadn't even heard of

We owe him a big thanks. Came straight in part way into the season and settled straight into the side at a higher level than he'd played before. Our results picked up. He does nowt complicated or dramatic but he makes it look simple. Looks after the ball well. Rarely gives it away. Has a range of passes, decent corners, intercepts a fair bit - good reading of the game.

Agree with Voyeur. He’s been quietly effective and done a great job for us. I think we would maybe be in for him if available in the future.

Wrote a really nice piece on Insta saying Blackpool will always have a place in his heart but (understandably) then wrote a post saying they need to get stadiums back and full again in Wales. I get the feeling his heart is in Cardiff.

When he came to us I read something that suggested he was keen to get back to the north west, having not really settled in south Wales. Which may or may not be true obviously! But sounds like it might be. 🤠
