Wolves away

I don’t want us to get knocked out, was hoping for an easier draw than this.

Suddenly, after last night, I can’t help but care about our potential cup run!

Still more excited about the league though.
We can win this new manager will want to see what type of squad he has ,nice stadium will be around 15000 gate(my home town club) wish i could go prediction 1-2 to the mighty granted the drive down the m6 is a bit of a barstard but only 2 hours 15 min tops if you use the toll rd.
Would you want Leicester or Leeds away thats even worse .

Will depend on what type of side they put out, if as I expect they rest most of the 1st team, then they will be there for the taking and we can grap a few headlines, and then hopefully get a top premiership side in the next round 💰💶💰💶

Wolverhampton as a town isn't the best its a bit run down and the walk to the ground from the town centre can be a bit edgy

But Wolves are a proper football club and I've enjoyed it the three times I've been, think I've been in 3 different away ends

Hopefully the wet lettuces on this thread won't put people off going as it would be nice to take a few as it's a winnable match

Wolves were flying. Would do well to get over 10k. Maybe 12k at best.

It’s not about the gate. I would have just preferred a more romantic fixture not a boring draw away at Wolves that not many people will care about. We will do well to take over 1k.
Never had you down as a romantic, Tense 🫢

I'm happy enough with that. They are a club in a bit of turmoil and have a really small squad having released/sold 25 players this summer. Will the new manager want to risk his key players? I highly doubt it. Easy enough to get to, a nice stadium and a chance for our fringe players to put on another show.

They will get players in I’m sure before the transfer window closes

We can win it. Depends what happens on the day, who wants it more!

I agree, certainly wouldn’t want Leeds away as the last time I remember the tickets were really overpriced.

I also think Critch and our players will relish it. We did two 60 min games at their training base recently and now get the chance to take them on at Molineux. It's a good challenge. Keeps players focused and hungry, they will all want to play at a Premier League ground.

Replying to various above:

too early to know team but game comes after Manu U away, Brighton at home and Everton away - we may need to field strong team to regain confidence! Or we will be on a roll and will keep same team….

Away fans sometimes get put behind north bank goal - so not overlooked etc.

i rang Wolves today to see if cup match tickets get automatically added to season tickets like last season - they said they didn’t know yet as still coming to terms with new (rubbish) ticketing system (by ticketmaster !).

As with most places, trouble available if you want it - otherwise relatively problem free.

Recent stabbing etc have been in an area the opposite side of town to away fans location.

Not seen Pool yet this season but loved watching previous Critchley side - never looked like they would lose most of the time.

Horrible city centre. Stayed one night after watching my son play football against Wolves. Even the academy pitches were the worst I'd ever seen.
Had to get out of the city centre just to find a restaurant open. Most shops were boarded up so we decided to drive to the nearby asian community where we found a number of decent Indian restaurants. Post Brexit, many cities in the midlands are in decline, Leicester, Derby and Nottingham all had something to offer.

What do you make of this summer at Wolves? From the outside looking in, you've gone from being a club on the up with big ambitions to one which may get dragged into the dogfight at the bottom. I'm not convinced by Gary O'Neil, although he surprised me how well he did at Bournemouth. Any new players on the horizon?

Very bemusing - ended last season on a real high and thought Lopetegui would only have joined with promise of more investment - then the bombshell dropped late May - it’s been horrible since then BUT

all those sold (except Neves) were fringe players.

Neves was always going to go and we got far more (47m) than we ever expected.

we did sign 6 in January and have spent £175m in last 12 months.

Fosun have never let us down.

They reputedly paid Lopetegui £10m per season - so were clearly determined to avoid relegation - presume they will be the same next January if we need it as otherwise their investment will massively decrease in value.

there is a view that Neves caused us to be attack shy - let’s hope we show that v Man U tomorrow

Recent stabbings. Not in Wednesfield surely.

I'm hoping you start well also, can't stand United and their fans. It'll be an interesting season ahead as it'll be quite a change in style I would assume. Good luck for the season, with the exception of the Carabao Cup. 😉

Rumor has it wolves had to sell players to comply with fair play rules and manager knew that in June and decided to go then but agreed not to make it public till just before start of the season. Perhaps we are playing them at the right time?
