Wolves look really good

Think Wolves play Everton and Crystal Palace either side of us, big games for them this season, hopefully that helps us!!

Wolves were brilliant but just lacked the killer instinct. Robbed at the end though.

They made United look ordinary probably because they didn’t play with any stupid inverted full backs.

The problem for match officials with the introduction of VAR, is that they can't have the excuse that the ref has made a mistake on a split second decision, or hasn't seen it. They can take their time, view it from multiple angles, and if they end up still ignoring an absolute stonewall pen then I'm afraid it can only be bias, at best. And they can't get away from the fact it looks deliberate either. There isn't an interpretation where that isn't a pen.

How can Carragher not think that was a stonewall penalty, must be all those years of Liverpool getting away with murder as well

Its truly shocking how the big clubs get all the decisions still even with VAR

Not seen it myself , but surely if it’s such a blatant pen then the officials and var should come forward and explain their decision

I do tend to think the big teams often get favourable decisions especially United. Why did the ref not give it though? Well, in the refs defence, not the var ref, the guy won the ball in the air and the ball was going nowhere in terms of threat to goal, before he was clattered. so in that respect i sort of understand it. But anywhere else on the pitch and it's a clear foul and a yellow card. Yesterday in the Spurs match the spurs keeper came out and clattered the Brentford forward but the ball had gone dead by then so he didn't give a penalty..So not too dissimilar a scenario to tonight.

As for clear and obvious error, well that's just an excuse for a poor decision by var officials.

VAR is cleary an Art and not the Science as it was promised.
Unfortunately it seems very often to be a Dark Art as well.
It is very clearly not as useful as hawkeye is in cricket, and tennis.

As posted elsewhere the focus on ridiculous hand ball penalties (FFS reintroduce the concept of accidental hand ball) is doing my head in with football.
Why do people in the game accept it so easily when they put so much effort into everything else they do only to see it undone by random accidental hand ball shit?

Hawkeye is completely different, it's just ball tracking. Its what the Premier league use for goal line technology. It works in tennis because the computer makes the decision wether the ball crosses the line, there is no human involvement.
Cricket uses Hawkeye for ball tracking but a video umpire (DRS) makes other decisions like in football. VAR and that decision comes down to human error which it was.

At the end of the day what is the point of playing these teams as no matter how well you play the cheats in the game always let their favourites win ..and then the head of VAR admits it should have been a pen (after the final whistle obviously)

I understood Mitrovic‘s reaction last season at Old T when Fulham were being given nothing, but getting a good kicking all over the park — old T like Anfield of old are teams and grounds to avoid

I refuse to watch Moan U and their pro refs/replay systems

I heard a story about Alex F many moons ago at Ewood Park, where he invited the ref into the dressing room before the match to offer him signed copies (to relatives of the ref) etc

Jon Moss has apparently been appointed Elite Referees Manager! The bloke, to put it politely, has been ** useless for 15 years and now he gets this gig. Should have been banished from the game years ago.

I think that is my point partly. Maybe VAR will improve, but to me on so many occasions the humans are making the wrong decisions even when they have the technology to help them. The game I think loses more than it gains at the moment with the use of VAR.

Definitely one of the downfalls of being in the prem

According to O'Neil, Moss and the PGMOL have now apologised and confirmed that the penalty should have been given. They say that the on-field and VAR decision was wrong.

From my perspective, if you are going to watch a game or have interest in a league you have to have faith that it is being played and refereed honestly.

To be clear, I am not calling out any VAR decision in particular or accusing any individual involved.

But the totality of incorrect VAR decisions in the EPL since it’s introduction has led to lose faith in the game at that level.

I still love watching Blackpool, I love my occasional Saturday watching non league down here,

But there’s no way I would subscribe to watch the EPL as it stands.

So if that's the case will the officials responsible be disciplined 🤷

Yes, The Ref, Hooper, video assistant ref Michael Salisbury and assistant VAR Richard West have all been suspended from next weekend's games.

Of course their suspension and the apology won't save Wolves if they get relegated by one point at the end of the season.

About they took some action for these woeful decision, it was a nailed on pen and with us having VAR there is no excuse for it, the keeper clearly clattered the Wolves player.

Just on the game, Wolves should have won comfortably and that Brazilian Cuena was just awesome, what a player.

Surprised he's got the time, with Culture Club on a nostalgia tour. Those drums don't play themselves.

They've surprised me, I had them as nailed on to go down pal, like you said earlier United look shit, Fernandes gets worse every season, he was good a couple of years ago.
United nailed on to go down. Wouldn't that be good.
That would please all football fans, bar those supporting United :)

It was a terrible incompetent decision. Are officials deliberately favouring the bigger teams?…..dunno but wouldn’t have thought that its deliberately but may be some sub conscious factors at play?

On another note it mystifies me why so many posters on here get so revved up about Utd (who are in no way rivals to Blackpool) but many seem to be quite kind towards Liverpool….any ideas why?…..I have 😉
