Of course it was expected. Same way if Dobbie had got the job and made the same start.
It's just the way fans are nowadays.
Some clubs are more menopausal than others.

I'm not saying he'll be gone now, I'm talking about before Christmas, unless he becomes more adventurous and we sign 4 players by the end of Friday that is the only way he may turn it round, and the 4 players have to be something better than we have now. My real gripe is with Sadler but there's fuck all going to change there. No you’re not going to be right mate, you couldn’t possibly have got it more wrong. Calling for the Manager’s head after a handful of games can never ever be right.
It’s tough enough for any new manager as it is, without having fans on their backs after a handful of games.
Looking at that rather bold crowd estimate, I think there's a distinct possibility of us being left with an awful lot of redundant surplus arrows ...Can someone make 4,500 arrows for the supporters in the North and South stands to point the way to goal for Saturday, please?

I would have loved Evo at the time but wasn't that prior to Critchley being appointed?Evo was the obvious choice when he was ready to come here but he wasn't even considered.
If Dobbs had been in charge from Christmas, we still would have been in the Championship, im sure of it.
Apt Orwell picture for your truth denial.** fuck the fuck off.
Are you SM by any chance? Can someone make 4,500 arrows for the supporters in the North and South stands to point the way to goal for Saturday, please?
Yep. It was divisive and Sadler didn’t care about that. We needed either Dobbie or someone completely new that would have more goodwill to rely on if results and performances proved initially difficult.Around half the fan base didn’t want Quitchley re-appointed, after the way he left us first time around. It was surely blatantly obvious to those who brought him back, that if he got off to a poor start, the atmosphere amongst fans would quickly turn toxic. That is exactly what has happened! Should be obvious to anyone.
It won't be Dobb's, I think John Major is being lined up!Ifs, buts and maybes .....
Well if the AVFTT lynch mob get their way we'll see what he is made of (in a proper context) before too long.
It's a fair point. Is it a coincidence or are some players just poor and slow to blocks?
That’s the problem with Critchley and his yes men, around 3/4 league games between them.I think the Oystons appointed better managers. They had Jimmy Armfield to advise them - if only he was still around. SS would do worse than to get one or two past players on the board to help the decision making.
He has a ceo and a director of football aren't these supposed to be the experts that give him advice?I think the Oystons appointed better managers. Didn't he appoint Critchley before those? Could be wrong, I genuinely can't remember. But I do remember him saying he used a company to conduct a search, or something to that effect. So I suppose it could be said he has taken advice, but unfortunately we keep coming back to former managers for some reason. He has a ceo and a director of football aren't these supposed to be the experts that give him advice?
Have a guess Sherlock.Since we were getting battered from 10 minutes in, when would you have brought them on?
Course we can, Dobbie, Dobbie , Dobbie, Dobbie, Dobbie, Dobbie, see it’s easy.I wouldn't disagree there.
Grayson was the worst.
Critchley ... I could see the logic and I'm not going to spit the dummy just yet. We can't career from one Manager to the next. Or even just keep bleating the name of the person we didn't go for.
It's idiotic.
We don’t have a team, we have 11 players on the pitch.Just back (in Worcester) - not good for Pool and not particularly good for Wolves - a close look at our second string reveals the cupboard is pretty bare.
Best two players for me were Jonny (who we are trying to sell) and Sarabia - most of the rest left a lot to be desired - Traore was fairly decent but got robbed of the ball a few times - including prior to the post being hit.
i’ve not seen much of Pool recently, and appreciate they rested a few, but very little cohesion and nothing like the Pool I remember from last spell in Div 1.
I agree about manager selection.Aside from Critchley the first time around, every other manager Sadler has appointed has been one that's been unpopular with a significant portion of the fanbase. And three of the five he's appointed have been former BFC managers. That's a huge concern to me. I don't think he has a clue when it comes to managerial appointments, which is why he goes with familiarity even in the face of significant fan opposition.
We may have been playing Prem opposition, and I don't expect us to win, but I think the fans that went deserved to see us put in a display that was sufficient to have one effort on target. The fact we didn't, and haven't scored for five consecutive games now, is dreadful. Truly dreadful.
We continually took a stance under the Oystons that the season seemed to start after the transfer window ended, and we were only concerned with bringing in the players that made any kind of difference at the last minute. We don't seem to have changed that philosophy, and while Sadler isn't comparable with the Oystons on almost every front (imo), I'm disappointed this behaviour hasn't changed. This is the reason why we never achieve automatic promotion - because other clubs are largely ready and better prepared, and we're still pissing around trying to find some round pegs for round holes after the first half dozen games.
If the ambition is to win promotion, a large chunk of the Yates money will need to be spent (yes I know transfer fees aren't everything, but the fact is we haven't replaced any of the quality we've lost, and that costs money whether it's transfer fees, wages, or both). If we don't spend that money this week, I think it's highly unlikely we'll be anywhere close to troubling the top six.
I wouldn't be getting rid of Critchley, it is still early and I think we'll improve. I just think it's massively disappointing that there was a huge opportunity to finally achieve one of the top two spots, and the signs right now are that we're messing it up again because you really have to be on it from the very first game.
So maybe stop banging your head on the wall and screaming in public.I'm not saying he'll be gone now, I'm talking about before Christmas, unless he becomes more adventurous and we sign 4 players by the end of Friday that is the only way he may turn it round, and the 4 players have to be something better than we have now. My real gripe is with Sadler but there's fuck all going to change there.
Yes good point about not starting from nothing. We aren't quite as under prepared as we used to be, because one thing SS has done differently is offer 4 year contracts, and it has benefitted us greatly.I agree about manager selection.
We did bring in quite a few players much earlier than Oyston ever did though. Norburn Morgan Pennington Joseph. Even Weir and Oakley-Boothe were well before deadline week. And we didnt start from nothing like the Oystons did every season.
Its not perfect by any means but the main issues have been not realising we are short up front, or out wide, til far too late. Joseph's injury hasnt helped but Critch thought Beesley and CJ could play those positions effectively. We need better. We have better wing backs than CJ and Connolly but Critch doesnt play them in league games. We need another striker or two. We've dropped 9 out of 15 points already. So i agree to an extent but I think you exaggerate a bit on this one.
Ha ha…I think if we asked it now it would be a “computer says no” scenarioChill out peeps! According to Simon's independent review of possible managers, Critchley name repeatedly popped up so he's obviously the right man for the job..
Unless of course Simon was holding the sheep of paper upside down?
And when it's not a former manager it's Mick Mccarthy who was the worst of the lot!Didn't he appoint Critchley before those? Could be wrong, I genuinely can't remember. But I do remember him saying he used a company to conduct a search, or something to that effect. So I suppose it could be said he has taken advice, but unfortunately we keep coming back to former managers for some reason.
Or..who else would be willing (and stupid enough) to invest £10m in a League 3 club and suffer personal abuse on here every day?It was blindingly obvious to anyone with the slightest modicum of football knowledge that Dobbie should have been given the job.
My problem is...If Sadler wasn't the owner (and Ive never thought he was the Messiah), who could be?
I wasn't far off .I don't know what to expect, a drubbing to nil is likely as we can't score against league one defender's.
Personally I'd start full strength, confidence/ character needs building on the pitch and in the stands. Resting players after half a dozen games is a premier league luxury not for a lowly league one club.
Let's just get on with it Critchley and errrrmmm not fink to much !!
Perhaps it might have worked out better if he'd simply given the job to the sheep. At least it would have been content 'on the grass'.Chill out peeps! According to Simon's independent review of possible managers, Critchley name repeatedly popped up so he's obviously the right man for the job..

He doesn’t get abuse from myself, but I take your point. Like most , after the Stains I welcomed his involvement, I just don’t think he’s doing a particular good job, investment or not.Or..who else would be willing (and stupid enough) to invest £10m in a League 3 club and suffer personal abuse on here every day?
Deary me indeed.I wasn't far off .
Back at 2 am thanks to the M6 night closure, up for work at 6am and still puzzled to why I bothered. Massive game for all on Saturday, it needs to be a win , it needs to be a turning point or people will start turning on the manager. No excuses about opposition or injuries it's time to roll the sleeves up and do what you get paid for.
I love my club , we're off track for sure but times like these pulling together is a must. I don't expect a miracle , just honest hard work and results will come I'm sure.Deary me indeed.
"Back at 2 am thanks to the M6 night closure, up for work at 6am and still puzzled to why I bothered"?
Spot on, after a predictable annihilation.
The more fans still go, the less conceivable Sadler will buy quality players.
Someone ought to form PoolAnonymous, with a 12-step programme to halt the habit.
Amid the management's neglect, the club should provide free therapy for addicts.
I wish we had pulled the Trigger, that would have been a wonderful thingPulling the tigger too late
Not even draw?We will lose
Fxxck Critchley off and I might agree. This fella needs to go and go NOW !!!!I think Bowyer and Dobbie ideal team Critchley seems happy with our performances is scary,go sooner rather than later
No Not even draw. Not even draw?
Who should be his replacement?Fxxck Critchley off and I might agree. This fella needs to go and go NOW !!!!
every few miles down to one lane or as you say motorway closure to really finish off the night. I thought i’d got a flyer but got back to car and everyone gone except the one blocking me in! ten minutes later he ambled back….I wasn't far off .

If it isn’t blood and thunder it won’t be good enough. Wigan despite all their problems are no mugs.I wasn't far off .

Yep, we must attack and not sit back , it's Critchleys job to get them fired up , Wigan will be well up for it .If it isn’t blood and thunder it won’t be good enough. Wigan despite all their problems are no mugs.
