Been reading the QPR fans opinions on him and most want him out already, over the last 12 games they have only picked up two more points than us.

There could be a situation in the summer where Critchley is out of a job, and we will be looking for a new manager. We do have a tendency to employ managers for a second spell.

For me it's a no, but I could definitely see it happening....

Just no. There’s loads of reason why it would be terrible.

Well we've not done very well with returning managers so far. No point making it a hat trick of failures.
I'd be happy with someone from a similar background however and I bloody well hope the BFC Board are currently compiling a short list.

We also haven’t done very well since Critchley left!!

Agree with you that I hope the homework is being done so we don’t have this shambles again next season.

I was watching the EFL podcast on Saturday night and David Prutton was interviewing Critchley.Prutton asked him the question "Are there similarities between now and his time at Blackpool" and Critch totally swerved the question and answered something completely irrelevant to what he had been asked, something about going into next weeks game or something.Prutton picked up on this and never mentioned us again only to refer to "his previous job".Honestly Critchley looked shaken to even talk about his time here.

He wouldnt be interested.

interview is here

I would like to see his last visit to Bloomfield Rd with the biggest stuffing of his career and the end of his glorious self cantered / opinionated / indulgent / money grabbing / won nothing (almost) job

He’s wrecked the Club completely

It's thanks to him we are in this mess. His timing couldn't have been worse. He derailed plans and threw any strategy we had to compete this season out of the window. Didn't address the supporters the on his departure. Not even a thank you or kiss my elbow, he just did one whilst Blackpool fans were busy having their dinner and joined his bin Licker mate Gerrard at Villa. All that fist pumping and kissing the badge.
Wwwwwwwwhat a **!

Yes. If he hadn't got us promoted and kept us up comfortably we wouldnt be in this mess, worrying about dropping back to where he started from!

** hell. 😆

I wonder if the Liverpool fans will turn against Klopp when he leaves. The badge patting fist pumping kraut **.

I can't believe what I read on here sometimes. It's like some people are that blinkered and naive that they have no awareness of how football operates outside their little tangerine bubble.
Managers leave, that's life. It's not like he left in the middle of a season , it could have been a lot worse. Its up to the club to react and maybe like Brighton even have a contingency plan in place. That's where the fault lies not Critchley.
I'm not happy with the way things have gone this season . The big mistake was appointing Appleton and that is the number 1 error that's affected everything. I can understand the criticism of the recruitment of players but its all done with the benefit of hindsight and the injury situation has played a big part. No amount of planning can counteract that it's been horrendous.

Yes sometimes managers are a good fit for the club as he was the way he went was disappointing but that’s football no one said anything when Grayson downed tools and buggered of to Leeds leaving us with a bunch of loan players.

They say you should never burn bridges and it is true. I think if he'd have gone to Villa and issued a statement saying how it was something he couldn't refuse working with Gerrard and testing himself at Premier League level, while also thanking us and wishing us the absolute best, then we would have accepted it and still thought of him highly. However, the silence was quite disrespectful and has made many who loved him now hate him. Although it could have been very different with a statement, it's probably a no go now.

As good a manager as I think he could be he'll not come back here. SS wouldn't ask him and Critchley would have enough sense to realise he couldn't come back and ever get the supporters or owners trust fully back.

The manner and timing of the departure screwed what looked like a medium-long term plan that was joined up across the club, from infrastructure to squad development. Critchley threw all that in the toilet leaving how he did. And we will likely end up back where we started at the end of this season in no small part due to the massive disruption Critchley caused.

Agree massively. SS was right royally shafted by NC.

Unsure tbh can’t make my mind up on this

Too many pros and cons can’t decide

If he came back though I’d back him as I would any manager

I didn't like how he left with not a word but I suppose there is another side to this. Maybe he had been told there was no money for recruitment and he had to take loans only and Bowler was to be sold. Might have influenced his decision somewhat. Ultimately we will never know but I have no real issue with the guy, its football and sh1t happens, people leave. If he came back I'd back him. We've seen what holding a grudge does this season have we not

Weve also seen how bringing back old managers is a mistake.

Did a great job, especially when you look at our current predicament. That ship has sailed I'm afraid and wouldn't work for either party.

So it's a NO.

Fact is - This club is in a mess 👎

“We do have a tendency to employ managers for a second spell?”
Perhaps my memory is failing me but who else before Appleton And can you really count Appleton’s first spell of 5 minutes as a substantial managerial spell.

Pretty sure SS said he would welcome him back to Bloomfield Rd any time when he went…… stranger things have happened.
I really like what MM says, but saying and doing seem to be two completely different things!

Been thinking more about this and although it's still a no from me, but now with a grovelling pitch side apology from him I could be swayed.

Had some great away days under Critch but wouldnt want him back, rarely works out 2nd time round. Pretty sure if it was to happen there’d be reports of some bloke residing in North Wales spontaneously combusting within seconds of the announcement 😂

And to quote yourself …….. (you) “have no awareness of how football operates”

What he did like Appleton previously is or was a disgrace - you have to face your audience and the people that work their nuts off so you can enjoy your footie career

He’ll never get a clap off me ever again, same as Appleton - too good for Blackpool ……. Clearly, look at their track record after !

What is the matter with selfish, self centered, money grabbing footie people at every level ?

Critchley had the fans in his hands, players (average) that worked really hard and tossed it all away for his 30 pieces of silver - what a legacy
