WTF is the club thinking in selling tickets in the home corporate to away fans?

I think the big issue here is the fact the game was Bolton, it's senseless mixing Bolton and Blackpool fans whether it in corporate or the terraces same as it would be with our other local rivals, maybe a box of Oxford or Cheltenham fans been there it wouldn't have got out of hand.

For the record the reason why no away fans are allowed in corporate at Fleetwood is because Pilley insists on it and it is adhered to without question, it all came about because a few years ago there was a major brawl in the Parkside suite involving wait for it...................Bolton fans.
Was going to post exactly the same..Bolton kicked off royally that day in Fleetwood and it changed their whole away corporate allocation strategy to net zero.

In that case the Pool fans should me made aware that away fans will be ejected if they are found in the corporate area as it is not allowed, as I mentioned that is the policy the Cods have, I was in corporate for our game there along with a couple of Pool fans but we didn't resort to jumping up and down when we scored, we were respectful of the rule and had an enjoyable evening without incident.
Isn't that the point Pool in Fleetwood corporate,Bolton in ours?

I know a local Bolton fan who missed out on an away ticket who went yesterday don't have an issue with it myself, most of us have done it in other grounds at some point.
How you stop the brain dead idiots cheering well you can't the sensible ones keep stum.

My mates get free tickets in the home end corporates all the time, they get them through a Sky employee who can apply for corporate at any football league ground.

It might be hard for the club to impose restrictions in corporate when people are attached to an organisation rather than going as an individual.

I was in corporate yesterday and had a friendly chat with a couple of Bolton fans pre match. No problem if they behave but when they celebrate like some did yesterday, they sadly run the risk of causing a problem. For a high profile game like yesterday, they either shouldn’t be there, or sit on their hands. Anyway, I thought it added to the fun 😃

Don't agree with selling to away however if our fan base doesn't sell out hospitality every game why would a business not. 🤔 ultimately extra revenue like that could mean us keeping the likes of dembele etc...

Class above with Bolton scoring 1st... knocking all the drinks over (so would have bought another round) and then we score 4... brilliant 🤣

If we have away fans in the home ends then for me it’s a classical case of give them more away tickets to stop it.
A subject we’ve discussed on here many many times.
Third in the league 40 miles down the road big away followings seaside town it was always going to happen giving them just 2k tickets.
If the roles were reversed I’m sure Pool fans would have tried the same getting hold of tickets by another source.

Pompey/Barnsley games both going for promotion big away followings I suspect could be similar flash points.

But it was all hunky dory. The only reason it wouldn’t be all hunky dory would be because some grown ass man took offence at another grown ass man for liking a different colour shirt and for chanting the names of a different bunch of absolute strangers. People from Bolton like Bolton Wanderers FC - what an absolute shocking revelation !! How can we possibly let the people of Bolton into a room with the people of Blackpool…

It’s all a bit childish isn’t ??
Whether it is childish or not it's a fact it could "kick off" that's why we segregate fans around the ground!!!

We did sell out, in fact we over sold from what I was told hence why we were asked to be in there half an hour earlier than normal so all the meals could get served in time

The Fleetwood head of security told me after that game that it was the worst violence he had ever seen at a football game when trying to eject that box full of Bolton fans. Anyway, good job we won yesterday hey and they didn’t get chance to celebrate a bit more.

So half the East stand stays empty but put some nice clothes on, have a drink , throw some money at it and you can all mix together.
They didn’t even have nice clothes on mate. Despite being reminded on the email about a dress code policy they had jeans and trainers on…… wonder why they weren’t challenged about that on entry as I know for a fact that one high profile sponsors father was turned away last year for wearing trainers after a foot operation

I’ve no real problem with away fans (guests of sponsors for example) being allowed into the corporate areas. I’m also not bothered about them having a mooted celebration either and a bit of banter. Groups of Away supporters on a ‘Jolly Boys’ is a different matter altogether!!

Whether the rules should be tighter for games like this, I don’t know. I can see both sides.. Wouldn’t bother me, unless the guests act like dickheads, in which case they need ejecting and the people who invited them need wording.

I’ve been in corporate a number of times and away fans have regularly been in the Matthews! Huddersfield Town, Bristol City to name a couple where I’ve spoken to away fans.
I’ve always assumed they’ve been invited via their friends or Company’s!

Sounds to me it’s impossible regulate unless the club are selling direct to away fans which if dougall is correct they don’t seem to be doing .

It’s easy to regulate just like it is in any other part of the ground. As soon as it’s known that they are away fans, they are ejected, simple 👍🏼

As someone else pointed out above, you really are wet behind the ears aren’t you 🙄

Yep I get that Mosser and agree with you entirely if they don’t behave but isn’t your beef about them being let in in the first place ?

Corporate is a different environment mate… It’s normal for sponsors to invite fans of the opposition team, who might be clients or suppliers. OK things might be different at tin-pot level like Fleetwood, but for the most part the fans of any decent size club just accept it as no big deal.

So if you get a cheer when the opposition score its par for the course… OK if you’ve got a table full of pissed up dickheads or people getting in other peoples faces with a celebration, but it’s rare to see that.

We can’t start ruining the corporate culture for sponsors just because our fans can’t mix with others without getting lairy.

Any fan who starts ‘misbehaving’ up there, whether Opposition or Blackpool needs to be ejected and (as I said on the other post) the person (business or whatever) who invited them should be worded about future conduct of guests.

Banning oppo fans altogether is small-time in my opinion.

It’s both really. If they get past the first level they’re thrown out when it’s obvious who they are.
As for your other point on your previous post about the club not knowingly selling tickets to away fans in corporate, I was told by friends in the main room (remainder removed).

Think Fleetwood are actually showing us up to be tinpot in this respect mate. Away fans in home ends of the ground is not allowed… end of!!

They always allowed some away and neutral fans in hospitality and do so at other clubs. The usual protocol is that you don't wear away club colours.
I believe that has always been the case. I have been in Corporate as an away fan at Hull City, Derby, Nottingham Forest, Wigan (kids birthday and got treated brilliantly), Burton Albion, Barnsley, Birmingham City (3 times), Doncaster Rovers and Solihull Moors. Never a hint of trouble, just made very welcome.

It pretty much is allowed at every club. Fair enough to stop groups of Bolton Fans, but if the main sponsor wants to invite a customer who’s a Bolton Fan, you can’t be stopping that.

It’s just normal practice.

The highlight of yesterday was a fantastic 4-1 win.

The fact it didn’t kick off in corporate is surely a moot point now.

Don’t sweat the small stuff I say ⚽
They can’t complain about the result so they need something else to complain about.

I was in The Chairman’s own box at Huddersfield last season, just behaved myself and told the others in it that the ball definitely was over the line when the refs watch malfunctioned…

Moan, Moan, Moan!!. There’s plenty on here that come across as spoilt toddlers. I didn’t want Critchley back, so I’ll stamp my feet until he goes.
Grow up ffs, you’re coming across a knobhead.
And yes, I would happily come to the pet food store and tell you to your face, although I better be careful, because you will get the muckers to hunt my ip address..
Wtf has that got to do with this topic?

Absolute joke this afternoon having to put up with 2 boxes in corporate with away fans in them giving it the big one only to be told that there was also a table full of them in the main room as well……. which prick makes these decisions, I’m pretty sure it doesn’t happen anywhere else???
I was asked if I’d like to attend a PNE game in hospitality last season. They knew I am a pool fan but I suspect hospitality hope to only encourage those that won’t cause trouble.

For the record, I declined, and not because I would have kicked off! 😁

I’ve been in corporate at a few away grounds tbf

We were in Birmingham’s hospitality when we beat them to reach the play off final. Got a bit hairy at times 😂
And at Norwich last season last match in Norwich hospitality, then Cambridge recently.
Never any trouble

I did Fleetwood corporate a few years ago when Ian Evett was playing for Chesterfield.
There were only 2 Cods in that box (and both were ex Pool fans) but everyone went outside to give Evett an excellent reception.

I can honestly say, not a peep out of any of the Fleetwood fans, not even an odd boo from all the OAP's just below the balcony

Funny thing....Andy pilley spent most of the second half sitting in the bar with a bunch of klingon's with Sky Sports on the big screen
They were all phone betting and they weren't bothered what was happening outside that window.....

No reason for all the above mentioned to have any trouble…… but Bolton who we have history with stretching back to one of our fans being murdered???

To be fair, I was in Corporate at Horwich when we were in the Premier, and I celebrated and although I got some stares, it went peacefully as it should.
