X on your passport

I haven’t got an issue with it, I simply don’t understand how you can be anything other than male or female.

Fucks it got to do with anyone else how someone identifies?

Live and let live, you sound like a bunch of confused, paranoid and scared old men unwilling to accept any change, making shit up about a 'perverts charter' whatever the fuck that is, do any of you actually listen to yourselves?

And you sound like a silly old liberal with a blind fold on.
Still better that than being miserable and scared, averse to any change, even if it doesn't threaten them you in any way whatsoever.

The world moves on and develops, if it didn't we'd all still be fighting the tribe in the next village and waiting for our wives to have the meal ready around the campfire after a days hunting.

I think you should if you are genuinely interested in understanding. Intersex people are people who are born with chromozone patterns that aren't xx or xy, therefore don't fall into biological male or female catagories.
Then how the hell have they reproduced?

And you folk are never around to admit you are wrong when things don't go as you expected. I don't really care how they identify, just don't expect me to go along with those delusions and don't do anything to affect my life just because I do not agree.

No one expects anything of you, why would you be part of a conversation you don't want to be involved in? How about live your life and let others live theirs how they see fit?

You seem quite angry about something that will have no impact on your life whatsoever, 'perverts charter' is one of the most ridiculous things I've read on this site, it makes no sense whatsoever and is the same bollocks people were coming out with 40 years ago about the gay community.

But people's lives are being impacted by it though Lytham, particularly women and kids, something you seem quite ready to accept. Why do you suggest I want no part of this conversation, do you object to opposing views? And as far as the Gay community of 40 years ago are concerned, they never made the same demands as these gender clowns are making, they just wanted to be treated equally and be accepted for what and who they are.

This was done because an intersex person sued. It is completely biologically accurate to say many intersex people do not fit into the categories of male and female and they shouldn't be forced to pick one.

What's interesting is 3rd genders have a long history rooted deep in tradition among some other cultures around the world. There's an idea this is some sort of western decadence, a new age invention, it really isn't.

They don’t come from intersex people. It can happen to anyones baby (but incredibly low chance). How they reproduce from there depends on how their sexual organs develop. I’m not really an expert on this but from what I can remember you can have people with wombs and overies but also born with a penis, you can have people born with balls which are actually overies, or overies which are actually testicles
etc. If you really want to know you can probably google it.

This also reminds me of the tribe in the Dominican Republic where kids are almost always born female, and only become boys at the age of 10/12. Basically they only grow penis’s and ball sacks once they hit puberty, but before then they basically have girly bits:

Bonkers, but shows that life isn’t as simple as we’re all male or female and need to fit neatly into those two boxes. A ‘x’ definition should probably exist for those who are intersex at the very least. Once you realise that sex isn’t always as straight forward as male/female, you can start thinking about how gender is a social construct…but I think that’s going to be a bridge way too far for avftt.

Intersex people are a different matter to those who just want to identify as something they are not though.

If we look at the original post in this thread, it asks why US passports are allowing people to use X, and how can people not be male or female. Intersex people are a good example of why the passports should allow for people who don’t fit into those boxes, and that people do exist who aren’t male or female.

As with most people I have a live and let live approach. My only issue here is having to alter how I communicate.

Email signatures now include brackets with "his, her, they, it etc'.

It's nonsense, do what you want, just don't force a minority approach onto the majority.

20 years ago no one would have believed we'd be having this conversation. Makes you wonder what's next.

That's a completely different situation.

How is it? I'm going off what's written as the OP of this thread. If it's a completely different situation, it's because other people are making it aboout something else.

OP states:

1. US is allowing people to put X on passport
2. how can that be when there are only males and females?

The answer is: People exist who don't fit into male or female. Therefore it's right to have an x catagory on a passport. It's pretty open and closed question and answer.

Even though intersex people are a biological fact and the 'X' would make sense in that case, my guess is they were far from the minds of the authorities when this decision was made. It's just pandering to delusional idiots and bringing intersex people into the equation is clutching at straws for the sake of arguing.
