Your Blackpool low point?

Like this article on the BBC website about the City fan who said he saw them lose at York and now could see them become Treble winners .. so if the day ever comes that we're successful, which game will you refer to as your low point (and we have lots to choose from!). If you say Barnet away you need to upload your ticket stub!

Season 2014/15 through 2015/16. I'd been duped into buying the 2 year season ticket deal. I just remember going into matches and seeing how shit we were before leaving- usually after 20 minutes.

In recent times I think it was probably that play off final against West Ham. Heading back knowing that we missed our last chance to get to the Premier league again and that we’d probably never return.

In hindsight it was the start of the removal of the scum as we gradually opened the can of worms that many either knew or suspected existed.
However that day I thought that was it. Oystons would keep draining the club and we would start to struggle.

As a kid, it was the Bradford game at BR when we capitulated and tried our best not to win 😡

That was it but sorry, no stub. I do think the 5th goal was offside though...

A 3-1 home defeat to Chester on a Tuesday night in a relegation six-pointer. 1990, I think. Woke up at about 4 a.m. on the sleeper train to find that we had only got as far as Stafford. That was my worst moment.

Bradford playoff defeat. Took me decades to get over that.

Colchester Utd (h), 1981/82, 0-0, around 1,700 rattling around a now dilapidated famous old stadium with the financial shadow of what happened the previous season hanging over the club. Nothing to play for except mid-table mediocrity and worse was to follow.
Guess who was the mascot that day!

Applying for re-election in the 80's (82 or 83? )Pictures of Ken Chadwick in the Gazette and Elton Tranmere Welsby on TV showing pictures of the 53 Cup winning side in the background. Arse.

I think most have missed the point of the o/p - it's that trivial game which probably had no meaning but was the ultimate slap in the face

I would say going down to Torquay to watch an FA Cup game against a really shite side and losing 3-0!

The Bolton match when Kevin died was a truly awful afternoon never forgotten it.
Watched the Pool for 65 years and my low point after that was critch signing a new deal and walking out on us.

I remember a night game against Colchester. Lowest attendance ever (at the time). Got a feeling that game was 2-1?
Grim up north.

Still Bradford. But this season was very poor and I believe the worst thing was it could have been avoided.

That whole Riga, Clarke, Ferguson period but weirdly the football almost didn’t matter, remember in league 1 barely caring whether they won or lost, it didn’t matter.

Been quite lucky, I’m in my late twenties, started watching around Grayson onwards, this season has been the only low season, mostly promotions or relegations that didn’t hit home as they should have

Bradford was awful.
We were shocking 1989/90 when relegated to Divison 4. Seeing 5000 Bristol Rovers fans win the 3rd division with an easy 3-0 win was bad. The only up beat was a mega FA Cup run to round 5.

The Bradford playoff defeat. So soul destroying thinking it will be my first visit to Wembly.

other than Bradford. Walsall away.
Christ, Walsall away. We had most of the ground and just didn't turn up. I think Bamber was injured for that game.

Cruising 3-1 up away at Halifax in the same season, lost 5-3.

Rotherham away, got gubbed 4-0. I thought one of our chances at the other end was goal-bound so lept up....it went 10 yards wide and it dawned on me I needed to get glasses.

Mansfield away under McMahan, lost 4-0 and never had a shot. Car broke down on the way back to Sheffield

Losing 6-0 to Wimbledon away with a group of Chelsea fans singing one man and his dog in the Blackpool End in sympathy with the few supporters who were there.

The televised home FA Cup game against Yeovil in 2001 when the balloons on the halfway line got stuck on the shit pitch when the net covering them was taken off, kick off got delayed while the balloons got popped and we lost 1 nil! Every cloud and all that at least we got promoted that season beating Orient 4-2 at Cardiff 👍

Mansfield away, turned up and it had been called off

Ffs, haven’t we just had this

1978, again

It’ll be 1978 the next time this is asked

And the time after that

For all the reasons I and many others gave the last time

…..
Mods, can we please make sure that posts are not duplicated - Alternative's losing his sh*t. I'm not technical minded but maybe some sort of alcorhythm might sort it?

I was only a young lad for the Bradford play off shambles so I can’t really say that but it has to be the double relegation from Championship to L2 and everything going on at the time, thankfully I didn’t get the two year deal and I called it quits after the shambles of a Championship season. It was obviously the time the boycott etc started and a real sad time with fans getting sued etc so that has to be the lowest point for me.

As Chunkylad mentioned I was absolutely gutted at the time of losing that West Ham play off final in 2012 as I thought we were the better side on the day however long term it was the best thing that could have happened in terms of the start of a long process to get the Oystons out.

Were we actually supplied with ticket stubs for that game?
I keep coming across ticket stubs from years ago, but no Barnet stub.
If anyone has one, please upload

Low point; applying for re-election or Oyston suing fans.

As a kid, Torquay 1991 after an epic journey from a Scotland holiday and just after the disappointment of Walsall a week or so earlier. Just totally gutting, almost life-ruined for an 11 yr old boy 😂

As an adult the realisation that I had to give up my season ticket and join NAPM sometime in 2015 (?) I didn’t know if I’d ever be back.

1978 because the majority of players gave up trying after Alan Brown was sacked. Unforgivable. It took 29 years to get back into the second tier.

My low point was 1978 to 2007.

30 years of hurt. No lions on a shirt.

Never stopped me dreaming.
Although this period you mention was in the bottom two divisions for me it was my best time of supporting the Pool, had some fantastic times until I left in 2000. The odd game I get to these days I still hook up with the same diehards from this era, Pool through and through all of us and it’s ace

❤️🍊

In retrospect, the end of the 1969-70 season and relegation having watched BFC entirely in the top division since my first match in 1954.

Correct that the end of the 1966-67 season. It's late a night! The end of the 1969-70 season was quite wonderful both then and in retrospect.

I paid cash at the turnstile and didn't get a ticket.
