Your favourite away day?

Interested to see some of the suggestions

Mine: 13 years ago - Stoke City 0 Blackpool 1. DJ Campbell with the goal. Brilliant day and evening after 😄🍻
Stoke 0 Blackpool 1 (March 1993) Tricky Trev the scorer on 89 minutes
A game where we weren't expected to get anything at all

I've posted in previous threads that this, barring Cardiff & Yeovil play off finals, was my favourite away day.
We were in danger of relegation from the 3rd tier, whilst Stoke were on the way up, and hadn't been beaten at home all season that far

Briggs and Bailey (youth coach playing CB due to injuries) were immense that day, and we even managed to avoid being hit by the flying coins thrown by the Stoke fans from behind the goal (old Victoria ground)

We thoroughly deserved the win, made better by Preston losing there shortly afterwards. We stayed up, and iirc they went down.

Same here, I had the flu and considered not going. Glad I did go! Can't say my evening was any good after that! Standing all the way home back to Manchester on the train feeling like shit. Then going stright to bed when I got back! 😁

Crewe 2006/07 promotion season, you could just feel the club was on the up,plus got so pissed on the train on the way back I thought Kirkham was Blackpool North.

Is that the game Shaun Barker scored in the last minute?? We won 2-1 I think? I was steaming at that game aswell lol

Stockport away 1985 I think. Night game.
Not sure of score but Piccadilly station to the old Victoria was a bit iffy. Presume some on here were in the back of a police transit with me and few lads from cleveleys. . Think they rammed about 25 of us in to keep the peace or for our own safety. Remember chasing some lad round a car at Stockport station who pulled a blade on me. Why I don't know but the old bill turned up and carted him off.

Two most recent for me would be Portsmouth away this season and the 3-2 win at Reading back in the championship. Coming back from 2-0 down and playing the best football I'd seen us play for over a decade.

Spurs 1-1 Blackpool in the Prem
Newcastle 0-2 Blackpool in the Prem
Yeovil 0-1 Blackpool part of the perfect 10?
The one that sticks out for me…..
Fulham 1-1 Blackpool 2 seasons ago, had the most amazing weekend with brothers and mates proper proper lash up and great memories
Wigan 0-4 Blackpool

Can think of many more but those spring to mind for now. when I was in my teens I followed the pool all over and got spanked most games generally without even scoring

A good away day is also much about the company you were with? Been to some great wins away but as not with great people just didn’t feel as good.

Top 5:

Forest 3 Blackpool 4
Leeds 0 Blackpool 5
PNE 0 Blackpool 1 (Wes penalty)
Scunthorpe 2 Blackpool 4
Liverpool 1 Blackpool 2

Would have loved to go to any of those 5 but didn’t go to any of them so an alternative top 5;

Cheltenham 1 Blackpool 2 - LeaApril 2007
Norwich 0 Blackpool 2 - Champ March 2008
Wigan 0 Blackpool 4 - 2010-11
Sheff Utd 0 Blackpool 1 - Oct 2021
Portsmouth 0 Blackpool 4 - Nov 2023

Stoke with Sinclair winner
Mansfield 0 Pool 3 (gabbiadini 2 and diamond 1)
Bristol City 1 Pool 2 (brace by Walwyn)
Fulham with boat cruise included
Swansea 1 Pool 2 won to stay up and pearler of a free kick from Coughlin

God I envy every pool fan at that game. Promotion for us and relegating that lot. Doesn’t get any better

I was in the middle of my revision for the final examinations at Lancaster University when I went to Deepdale for that game. It certainly helped to inspire me to succeed in them.

Far too many to mention:

When I was a Junior Seasider: Arsenal (Super Philly Clarkson) and Charlton (that John Hills goal) away fixtures in the FA Cup stand out.

In my 20s and early 30s, I enjoyed so many amazing away days with FY4, kudos to Smithy and Big Bob. Never a dull moment with FY4!

The Oldham away fixture in the 2007 play offs was one I'll never forget.

All the Prem away days but Liverpool was my favourite!

Wes Hoolahans penalty at Dumpdale is unrivalled in my opinion (as it was the first time I saw us beat the Nobbers away)
