Another one for Scott Darton, not sure if he was rubbish or just looked it in comparison to Marvin Bryan who was actually one of the best fullbacks I’ve seen in tangerine.

Well he definitely didn’t teach mebut Jimmy Armfield did briefly when he stepped in for an absent teacher at my then Junior School for a few days
…..he also occasionally took our school team for football training …and he was playing for England and even captaining them.

Those were the days …and the connection was Arnold School where ” Sir Jimmy” had been at school.
He was actually a very good Rugby player ( Arnold only did Football in the Junior School) and was good enough to play at County Level by all accounts.
