Man Utd v Leicester in 1963. 3-1.

Nobbers final the following year wasn’t bad too.

Sheffield Wednesday v Everton in 1966.

Massive 2-0 up and blew it. Everton fan dodging the Police always makes me smile

Worst

Man City v Leicester in 1969.

The very first Cup Final I went to was Wet Spam vs Nobbers in 1964.
I was with my Dad and although I was just a little boy we forget to take my father's gun.
Little did I realise in those innocent pre-teenage days that those two teams would be in my top 2 of teams I always want to lose.
Too many Cup Finals to try and remember which was my favourite.
UTMP.

The only time I remember supporting the Nobbers.
Remember going for a quick kick around at halftime and pretending I was Alex Dawson.!

First one I watched was Sunderland Leeds (sorry Plumbs), but I can only remember the goal and Jim
Montgomery's save near the end.

Hard to pick a favourite. 79 stands out I suppose, but was it much of a game prior to the last 5 mins? Brighton really should have beaten Utd at the first go, which would have given them an automatic qualification in my book.

For some strange reason I've a lot of good memories of Ipswich in 78, they just seemed to play the game of their lives. Probably didn't, and Ipswich were about to become one of the best teams around although I wouldn't have known that and some of the players who did it came after 78, like the Dutch pair.

Alan Hunter, was he the CH? Seemed to have a stormer, left winger Eric Gates? Always seemed to be running at fullback with the great winger's poise you never see any more. And it got a Coleman 1-0 to round things off, he made Chizzy look like Ken Wolstenholme.

My next visit to Wembley was in 1972 for Leeds 1 vs Arsenal 0.
I think "feisty" is an understatement to describe the game.
Bally was playing for The Gooners and he got taken out by Allan Clarke in the first 5 seconds and moments later Arsenal got their revenge taking out Peter Lorimer.
So I've actually see my top 3 disliked teams at Wembley

My first, Ipswich V Arsenal about 78? It was not as a fan of either, but to experience a Wembley final, taken by a friend of my Mums.. Don't remember much about the day or game, sat in the tunnel end, high up? Ipswich won 1 nil... You can't get excited about Ipswich or Arsenal can you?? But this was back in the day when everyone watched the FA Cup final & it meant something, I couldn't even tell you who is playing today, but its usually 2 teams from the top 6 of the Prem. FA Cup, not the draw it once was...

First one I remember watching was Arsenal v Liverpool in 1971 with Charlie George scoring the winner.
Favourite has got to be 1953 Seasiders win over Bolton. First time I watched it in its entirety was in the mid 70s when a friend of my dad had it on film.

First I remember clearly is Cov 3-2 Tottenham.

I would say it's got a decent claim for also being my favourite but probs the year after when Wimbledon beat Liverpool might take it.
I got free tickets to that via my local youth club.

Was in the coventry end. Great day out. 👍

First I can remember watching was Dirty v Liverpool in 65.

Best one probably the Spurs v City replay in 81 because I was there. The only one I've been to, on a coach from the Victory on Caunce St

I bet it was!

What a run of cup finals...

87: Cov v Tottenham - that diving header... 3-2
88: Wimbledon vs Liverpool - only 1-0 but a giant killing + a penalty save...
89: Liverpool v Everton - 3-2 A topsy turvey derby and all the post Hillsborough emotion.
90: United v Crystal Palace - first game was amazing (3-3 irc) even if the replay was a bit shit.

First as a nipper I remember was '69 Leicester vs City.
Best was 73 Leeds vs Sunderland. Massive upset & Stokoes wonderful dress sense & celebrations on the final whistle.
Overall enjoyed all the FA cup finals in the 70's & 80's other than Fulham vs Wet Spam being a durge.
Two great diving headers Osgood & Houchen.

Went to 1953. I don't think they were televised live in those days.
Might be wrong of course.
It was, I watched it on the old black and white at a well off friends house, as we didn’t have a telly. Of course there were several issues with the horizontal and vertical holds.

1979 Arsenal v Man.Utd, closely followed by City v Spurs 81 replay. I will always remember Steve McKenzie scoring with the sweetest of volleys and my father who was eating his tea at the time nearly swallowing his fork!.

72 first I can remember, even had me supporting Dirty Leeds for a wee while, don’t tell Plumbs (2nd team) always been a tangerine.

I don't remember a couple after 81, the next one was Norman Whiteside doing Everton over when Kevin Moran got sent off.

First I remember clearly is Cov 3-2 Tottenham.

I would say it's got a decent claim for also being my favourite but probs the year after when Wimbledon beat Liverpool might take it.
Not the first but definitely the Fabourite. Liverpool v Everton in 1986 was another belter. Worst must be when Utd beat Millwall 4-0 - it was like watching an exhibition game

First one I really remember was the Chelsea v Leeds final in 70.
Wembley was a bog of a pitch for first game , Eddie Gray and Ron Harris battling it out for a 2-2 draw.
Replay was at old Trafford with Chelsea winning it.
Great game - probably won’t even watch today’s and it used to be such a big day as it was the only live broadcast game of the season which made it so special

On TV and as a young Man U fan, games against Southampton, Arsenal and Liverpool. The Arsenal final I was running round the garden when United came from 2-0 down, when I came back in they were 3-2 down.

Only attended one final, 1984 Everton v Watford.

One of my best memories of my dad came with the 76 final between United and Southampton.

We sat down to watch Kick Off on Friday evening and you would have thought the trophy had already been given to United. Utterly dismissive of Southampton, Jack Smethurst saying “I‘ll give you 6-4 that Southampton won’t even turn up tomorrow!”.

We had little love for United, the last two years had been spent watching them climb out of Div 2, and then being assured by Granada that the young team Docherty had assembled were at the very least, the second coming.

So when Southampton were priced at 6-1 the following morning, Dad and I thought we would put a small bet on. We watched the game, laughed our heads off when Southampton won, and headed into St Annes to pick up our winnings. On the way, he saw a bunch of disconsolate teenage fans in United scarves walking along, He slowed down the car and shouted out “where’s your FA Cup now then!”. It was totally out of character, but there’s only so much Granada cheerleading for United a man can take....

I was six years old when Blackpool won the FA Cup in May 1953 but my first actual recollection of the cup final being played on the day was the following year, 1 May 1954, when I listened on the wireless to West Brom beating PNE 3-2!

City v Spurs games
Cov v Spurs
Liverpool v West Ham
Wimbledon v Liverpool

Was a massive day to be looked forward to when I was a kid. Just another game now for me. TV saturated with games I guess.

First final I can remember and recall incidents from was Spurs v Burnley 1962. The great double winning Spurs side with Jimmy Greaves scoring, and the best Burnley team I’ve seen. I‘ll always remember Spurs third goal when Danny Blanchflower sent big Adam Blacklaw the wrong way from the penalty spot! Two excellent footballing sides. Another memory back then on Cup final day was me Dad closing the living room curtains so you could see the black and white telly better! 🤣

I was at the '73 one and that was my first ever Leeds match-tickets came via the FL at St Annes.

I've been to several-Sheff Weds and Arsenal, Manure and Liverpool, Manure and Palace and also the LC Final a few years back between City and Arsenal.

Always enjoyed watching them but its long become a tarnished date on the football calendar.

First remembered, Leeds v Liverpool 1965
Best probably Liverpool v Newcastle 1974 as I went to this on my own age 15 . My brother who was in the army in Germany had got a ticket and posted it to me.
Tottenham v QPR was the worst. Absolutely dreadful match

First I remember was Everton v The Massive
Best was Spurs v City replay
The only one I have attended was in Cardiff, Goons v Saints (Inc Brett)

First I remember was Palace v Man Utd 1990 3-3....
Favourite?? The year Gerrard scored a screamer against West Ham at The Millennium?? I was on the lash in Liverpool..Great night!!

First: Man U 3 Leicester 1 1961 on neighbour's b&w telly (I was 8 yrs old)
Best: Coventry 3 Spurs 2 1987 and I was at Wembley that day cheering for the Sky Blues.

First I remember 1971 Leeds v Arsenal

Best?

Toss up between 1980 Spurs v Man City or
1986 Spurs v Coventry
