Your happy place

There's a lot of shit going on in the world and also maybe in our personal lives, and I can vouch for that. So we have escaped to Gran Canaria.
We are sat here drinking wine and relaxing, it's been 33 degrees today and this is where we are happy.
Where is your happy place ?

Just come back from a long weekend in one of our happy places, good old Kirkby Lonsdale, we generally take the caravan up there 3-4 times a year. That's it for there until next year, but I'm sure we'll be back either in March or May perhaps both.

Wherever I am at the time, life's too short to be otherwise

But . . . if I had to choose one time/place, it would be serving in the Kids Ministry at Valley Church

Skipton or Geneva. Both therapeutic for me. Both places have no expectations of me, nor me of them. Heaven.

Gran Canaria is a good shout Herts.
We first went about 30 years ago to Puerto Rico having taken advice about winter sun. Early Feb & couldn't get over the wonderful temperatures only 4 hours away. Been many times since, lovely island.

Anywhere with hills and no other fucker around, North West Lakes is perfect for this, Ennerdale on a Tuesday in winter for example, just the odd local from Workington or Whitehaven around minding their own business.

Cwm Pennant or Nantlle are other good examples, so close to Snowdon and the queues of influencers but so so far away.

Pretty much any Greek Island, sat by the pool overlooking the sea and mountains, not another person near (apart from the wife). Biggest decision is over getting a glass out of the freezer and filling it with Fix or Alfa. Last one we'd be visited by a Cockerel and 2 hens pretty much at any time. Previous one we had a cat in the garden who would come to meet you down the lane at night (it was quite darkish and not drivable), come up to you, turn and then head back to the house walking diagonally from side to side clearing any nasties for us.

Sorry for being a miserable sod but it doesn't matter how good your happy place is you always end up back in this shitstorm we call life😕

I love the tranquility of the Norwegian fjords but nearing the end of my visits always makes me feel low😔

Having to come back to Blackpool after visiting anywhere will make most feel low.
