Your 'on the pitch' moment

Never played at Bloomfield Rd. Sure i've been on the pitch a few times but nothing sticks out particularly memory wise. So it's off to Deepdale where i do vividly recall going on the pitch after the game in 1970 and also playing on there in a Lancashire Cup game and absolutely hammering them where we played like we were Real Madrid.

Took a few pens as a tango junior seasider lol remember sending Barnet down last home game of the season after they twomped us 7-0 at their gaff earlier that season. Never forget the Barnet players walking off as we went on glum as f.
Same, I remember taking penalties on the pitch as part of the junior seasiders. I was quite young, it was in front of the desolate south stand rubble and I'm fairly certain that they just had two ball boys take turns in net and they actually saved our pens - not like now where Bloomfield Bear gives it the old hollywood dive over the ball in front of the North. We've come a long way! 😂

Went on to celebrate with my 9 year old son when we reached the play offs in 2010. Got interviewed briefly on the way off with him on my shoulders. It was on TV and ended up on the 2010 season club video. A bit embarrassing really but; well you know, emotion of the moment.

Presented the Adidas Golden Boot to Dave Bamber on the pitch at Bloomfield Road.
Played against the Aston Villa European Cup Winners team at the Bescot Stadium (20 years after they won the trophy but the still leathered us)
Also played on Macclesfield Town's ground and the Carrington indoor pitch

Never played at Bloomfield Rd much to my regret but I have played on a league ground at Morecambe's old ground Christie Park for Blackpool primary schools town team.. the height of my football career 😊

Never played on BR but went on the pitch after the Barnet play off game and the Bradford loss (got arrested)
Played at Deepdale in a work interdepartmental match and scored a screamer at the town end, which was the away end at the time. Celebrated in front of 4000 (imaginary) Pool fans 🤣

My favourite On the pitch moment -

In the hone leg of the 2001 play off semi-final against Hartlepool Utd. When the game finished the crowd were on the pitch. The sight of a terrified 6ft 3in Danny Shittu as my petite 5ft Mrs raced over and grabbed him to celebrate.
Mmmm nerver did ask her which bit she grabbed 🤔

Scored the winner in the Gledhill final, in one of my last Sunday league games. I still dine out on it, to anyone who will listen.
(usually after a few pints) 😉

Played in a couple of winning school cup finals at BR in the 70`s, one against Bailey (in which there was a "crowd disturbance" on the kop when a fight broke out). Remember sitting in the changing rooms before the game thinking of the players that usually used it, and during the game that the pitch was not in very good condition.

Also played for a very good junior Sunday side (Birkdale) who was run by the Blackpool FC head scout (Jack Chapman) in a final against YMCA who put up a good show against us before conceding 2-1.

So good memories of playing at Bloomfield...

What year was that when you played for Birkdale?

70 minutes. No subs. I think he needs to leave after this season now to be honest. Its absolutely rinse and repeat.

A bit older than me, i first started at North Fylde at 10 years old in 1975/76

Yep probably 3 or 4 years older, I played with Brian Morley, Paul Dawson and a lot of very good players in that team. You probably knew Jack from being at BFC , I imagine. Top bloke...

One to lighten the mood after today’s result.

On a walk home from town in the early hours I took a slight detour to Bloomfield Rd. It was when work was ongoing in the south east corner, potentially the hotel? Anyway, I hopped the fence and walked aimlessly around the pitch for about half an hour before eventually making my way to my season ticket seat. Woke up at 6am with a stinker of a hangover. Very weird time in my life was my early 20s. UTMP
