England v Nigeria WWC Thread

Entertaining first half. Getting pushed in the back is almost never given as a pen, same as a lot of offences that would be fouls anywhere else on the pitch. Nigeria's coach has done his homework and has kept Lauren James out of the game completely. The good news is that we are running midfield and that Nigeria's defenders are prone to mistakes.
 
First decent team we've played by the looks of it and we don't have any answers, Lauren James cannot get hold of the ball anywhere near the 18 yard box like she has in previous games. They've looked rattled by the Nigerian's physicality from the off.
 
didn't do it with too much force but it was absolutely stupid thing to do. So no other choice but a red card.
 
Silly girl, totally deserved the red. Funnily enough it may make us better because we have been totally shite with 11 players.
 
Done England a favour in some respects. The game has calmed down and they are looking after possession FAR better. Let the Nigerian's do some chasing around.
 
Any Feelgood factor that England Women's football has garnered has just taken a hit with one stupid, arrogant moment of sheer madness.
Totally unnecessary, and if England now lose, that sending off will haunt James for the rest of her career.
But, when everybody 'bigs' you up, and you get to be on TV adverts, it can cause you to start believing your own hype.

Still..... it is what it is, so let's see what the other girls are made of if it goes to extra time and pens....
