Lincoln City v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 26.08.23

I suggest all the fans groups, demand to see the management company papers SS used to say NC was the best candidate ( another SS excuse it wasn't my fault)Crap boring football, bottom half by Christmas.

It is completely shite when you've got players who are just not comfortable on the ball. Just take a ** proper goal kick.
We do sometimes, but the games moving on, most good teams are comfortable on the ball and can pass out when required.

Ekpiteta can't do it, he should be subbed but yet he can be good at defending when he's not diving in for no reason.

The issue is we don't seem well set up for the passing style and players aren't playing with confidence, are being very safe and making mistakes too.

It's not the style, we're just poor right now, on the floor or going long.

Critchley struggled to implement his passing style last time, other managers get teams to do it no issue with smaller budgets.

Wank, players look afraid to play, give him 10 games and get rid, yep he can get results but f me the football is boring.

We’ve had 66 per cent possession and we are 2-0 down

Tactics need changing from top to bottom

Since when was 3rd division any good to watch ? Some of you need to get real . All teams will win and lose some , Blackpool included we have no god given right to be winning every week . Not even 1 month into the season and many on here are being jury, judge and executioner
I think the majority of us have seen us enough league 1 to know what's required... And this is dog shit.

66% possession based football in this game so far and yet no goal. In fact, that’s 8 halves of league football since we last scored. Unless he changes it, then nowt will change

Taking on Quitchley was a massive mistake, Sadler has to take the blame for the, it should have been Dobbie. Quitch is the dullest manager we have ever had and we've had a few. If I was Sadler and we lose this I would have Quitch in tonight tell him he'd made a massive mistake, it isn't going to work out, here's your P45 and I'm glad you signed a clause saying no composition. Now fuck off out of my office.

Then get on the blower to Dobbie.

There were plenty arguing the case for Critchley on here, but I'm just not seeing it. Very early days, and we need to strengthen, but he's already making some very poor decisions imo. We could've easily won this game if he'd picked a balanced team, instead of one overloaded with defensive minded players. Weir, for one, should be on the pitch.

I'd like to think he'll learn from this, but the evidence suggests that despite having the best defence in the league already, he went even more defensive. It's completely unneccesary - the teams in this league just aren't that good. We're lining up as if we're a non-league outfit who've drawn a league club in the cup.

I don’t think it’s as bad as is being made out, some of our football was great, but we keep reverting to hoofball. Norburn at fault for both goals, but Hamilton couldn’t trap a bag of cement, his crosses are poor . Much improvement is needed for the second half . Come on the Pool !

Critchley has never been successful unless he had a decent number 2, calderwood and mccall were very influential. He might be a decent coach but he is a terrible manager. Everyone but him can see his teams are set up wrong and he sticks by his favourites even when they are playing badly. Massive week next week, if we don't bring in a ball playing midfielder, at least one wide player and a striker its season over.

They just don't show for each other, so the poor sod in possession has no decent option - hence getting caught in possession, or making a bad pass because there isn't one on - other than a back pass, then we rinse and repeat it, and get caught at the back.
That's a coaching tactics issue. Granted a few of the players are poor, but they should be coached to make triangles and show for each other - it's an absolutely basic req.

This is what happens when you set up with no intention to win - you invariably don't. It's piss poor and totally unacceptable for a club who was playing championship last season to be setting up in this manner against anyone in a lower league.
Give your head a ** wobble Critchley and demonstrate some confidence in your attacking players.
Absolutely. I very rarely complain but this is simply not good enough.

Just watched the 1st half with the Lincoln commentary, they really think were clueless.

They said "What's the point of having all that possession when you do nothing with it".....which is totally true.
Critch has them all doing their little bits in their possession of the ball and passing nicely to each other.....but they cant do fuck all

Sorry, he's got this half to change things....if he keeps the same set up, then he hasn't got a clue.

I really can't remember us playing as poorly as this. It's definitely relegation form. The defence makes one mistake after another and the forwards couldn't hit a Royal Caribbean cruise liner in dock.
