New What we all watching / recommendations thread?

The Catch on channel 5.
Only on episode 2, it’s ok, but would be better if it wasn’t for the mood music that keeps trying to tell me how to feel 🤦‍♀️

binge watched Love and Death on ITVX today. It's very good.
I got to the episode where ‘it happens.’ I knew it was a true story but didn’t know the story and was a bit shocked at the very dark turn. So at that point I was silly and googled it.
Can’t believe the outcome of the court case.
Yes it was ok, but I gave up after the Google error.

‘Last King of the Cross’ - binged it in a week, very good although true story is doing some heavy lifting at times and does that prison break thing where the main characters get out of every tight spot imaginable

Mission to Burnley sky documentary

Quite a bit of footage of Matt Williams

That fella clearly knows his onions . Comes across well .

Just watched The Morning Show season 1&2 in a couple of weeks - Season 3 Out this week I think .. Watchable, stick with it ..

Two decent series to watch: King of Tulsa ... Sly in a New York mobster spin off thing. And Poker Face - good watch & each episode stands alone, with a faint thread throughout.
Enjoying Bear and just started Poker Face - a promising modern homage to the classic murder-mystery-of-the-week shows like Columbo. Not a recommended binge watch back to back as storylines can have a familiar feel about them - something to keep coming back to.

Been watching Ashoka, the latest Star Wars series on Disney, it's one of the better ones, up there with Mandolorian and Bobby Fett.

Just going to give Wilderness a chance on Amazon in a minute, I'll report back!!

Ifyou like The Boys then Gen V is one for you, spin off and just as outrageous.

We’re watching the American version of The Killing at the moment, 10 years old now but a really good watch.

1) Brassic (5 series)
2) Top Boy (4 series but 1st was called Summer House so don’t miss it!) Not so funny but an excellent watch and gets you talking to the wife like a gangster! S’up!
3) Sex Education (3 series)

All good and in order of funniest 👍🏻

The Long Shadow ITV the Yorkshire ripper drama.
It’s decent enough, the acting is good. All episodes now available. I’ve 2 to go 👍

If it’s an accurate depiction then men in the 70’s can get to ****.

Its emotive, they were difficult times for many, especially the women murdered by Sutcliffe.
RIP each and every one of them 🌹🌹🌹

Just finished watching Mr Inbetween after all the mentions on here......excellent series,
But what has happened to Scott Ryan (Ray) he appears to have completely disappeared and nothing seen of him since 2020?.

I saw 'Dark Winds' is coming to Sky and Freeview next week
Season 1 is a slow starter, you need to get over the first 5 episodes and then everything starts to join together, it's very well written
Season 2 has been even better, Joe Leaphorn is my hero, he's a Native American, Clint Eastwood (season 2 available on dodgy sticks)
If you liked 'No country for old men', then you will like this.

Watched The Creator..........great special effects, but the story is a real letdown, which was a shame

Sound Of Freedom is also out......You need to watch this as it's 100% crazy American, QAnon, Republican, Trump loving, Religious bullshit
Perfect story for all the little Nazi's to start building walls with machine guns and landmines to keep those nasty brown people out of the country

And if you have 2 hours and 20minutes of your life to waste....Reptile, nothing happens for the first half of the film...and little happens in the 2nd half....and I needed to watch a video on YouTube to explain the ending.....But it's got Benicio del Toro in it....what more do you want

I’ve only seen up to the second episode, but brilliant so far.
I’m a bit of a soft sod, but the scene with the police woman taking the call off the survivor got me a bit! 🥹

The women were treated like dirt, even by the men who used their services. Hypocrisy abound.

And the male police were just awful 😡
