I know he was returned injured and had an operation on his knee.
Is he anywhere near starting training again? He is not that good but he is the nearest thing we have as cover for Madine
if we give him a squad place

Don’t think we ll ever see him again for pool. Been told his head isn’t in football at all any more.

Not been told in detail, but I was led to believe it’s some kind of mental health issue, despite what we think of him on the pitch he deserves help and privacy to over come it.

To be honest I think he’s made so much money already out of City and Blackburn he may be set for life, but I do think so much so early is a large reason so many young lads get depression these days.

Yep, heard similar, from someone close to him. It's not so funny when I see people slag him off knowing what I've been told.

Oh dear. Good luck to him. Hope he gets the help he needs and can turn things around for himself.
I apologise if I was rude to him. Don’t think I was, but I might have been!

Definitely not set for life but has breathing space financially to overcome his problems. I wish him well.

I absolutely wish the lad well. I still go back to the away game at Rotherham - he just wasn't right. He just didn't seem right at all, looked like missing was the end of his world and he didn't know how to deal with it. Armand with his arm round him, Super Joe looking broken.

On the converse, that goal in the last minute vs Ipswich and the photo of him in the crowd. One of the best moments since we've been back and an all time classic photo imo.

Poor lad, it's just a ** game.

Hope he's in a happier place soon.

Sounds like you know a bit more than I, but been told it’s been an issue for a while and when I think back it tallies with his performances on the field. I was hard on his performances before I’d heard about him. Just wish him all the best now in life.

Best of luck to him. Hopefully everything turns out good.
Never a footballer at this level. Maybe realizing that will help him go forward.

Good post. It's why I very rarely visit the match day threads now as I find it disgusting how a handful of our fans talk about and refer to our own players.

I have no idea about Joe or his illness but I often wonder what these chinless twunts could have done to make his condition worse.

I'm really struggling to think of another sport or situation where a 22 year old is barracked with abuse whilst trying to do his job and it is deemed acceptable.

Well he’ll have made close to a million quid with us by the time his contracts done. Similar amount with Blackburn and what ever he’s made during his time with City and Aberdeen.

He should be a millionaire by now if he’s been smart with his money, play it right with what he’s earned so far and you never need work again, ultimately if that helps him get his head right good luck to the lad.

I just hope some of (even all of them)the people who have nailed this lad to a cross might think twice about crucifying people on here when knowing little or nothing about them.
Apart from they play for the club, I support so they are fair game.🥴🤐
🙄 To be fair, he did score from a cross against Ipswich

If all this speculation is true, and there are some reliable posters telling the tale, then this is very sad.
What does puzzle me though is Larry's role in this. Larry must have known Nutts pretty well because he grew up playing football with Larry Jnr.
Does that mean there was more than a little bit of nepotism involved in his signing???
From a purely selfish BFC financial point of view would player insurance cover this situation if Joe has to retire?

I’ve mentioned on here before how this transfer was conducted. I was shouted down at the time, but the proofs in the pudding and this is probably one of the final sad twists in his story with us.

I don’t think we’d have any claim, he may not retire he ll most likely run down his contract with us or come to an agreement to terminate it at some point. That’s the risk in football the club was a state when Joe signed SS has put measures in to stop this sort of thing happening again.

Rekt. I can't go back and find your old post but it doesn't really matter.
If Nutts can't play because he's ill, what's the difference between that being a mental illness or losing a leg in a tragic accident?

Just basically that the deal was conducted between Dunn and Grayson, I’m told SS was furious when he found out a bit later about the details.

Maybe you could Insy, but i just can’t see an insurance payout given the details on this one.

I don't really know tbh.
I suppose we will just have to wait and see how this sorry story pans out.
The bottom line though I wish Nuttall all the best and hope he can sort himself out.

I think we’ll either terminate or he ll see his contract out. Either way as you say I hope the club and by extension the fans can support him throughout.

Larry knew not everything was right, I remember him saying in the paper that Mr Nuttall was having a few personal when everyone was getting on his back !

Privacy which he had as nobody knew until you posted it on a message board read by thousands of people.

It was out there already in the public domain.

On this board by other posters and even Keith Curle mentioned as much when he was returning to Blackpool.

I’d also say what’s worse fans constantly attacking him because they think he’s just not interested or not trying or them having an idea about the truth behind the situation. Look at the messages rallying around him on this thread alone.

It’s good to talk !

He'd have to be £10k + a week basic for this to be true.
Sorry yes I thought he had a 4 year deal but it’s a 3+1. Soon think it’ll be around half a mill all in.

Also mods get a grip, nothing has been posted that wasn’t already out there, nothing has be posted that wasn’t true.

Everything that was posted was with Nuttall’s best interest in mind, look at how we’ve all gone from negative to supportive in one thread with him.

Yes, Rekt, I can almost hear the sympathetic support from some in the ground if he didn’t put a shift in on his first game back.

Perhaps you could stand out side with your bucket? Ask everyone to form a queue?

Just for clarity I never said it was depression. I don’t think it is that.

Issues outside of football.
Why didn’t you say this when you replied to grumps post this afternoon

The bucket was for whinge monkeys rather than the abusive. It was positively gleaming until last Tuesday

Rec come on now you appear to have lost your way and found yourself on the football board.

Do be a good lad now and get back to the politics board before you’re missed.

I`m bound to say that last season bearing in mind the fact that he had cost the club a great deal of money both for his signing and his contracted wages,I was very disappointed in what I saw of his contributions not only in his ability but also his effort,I did not see the Ipswich goal but I seem to recall it was pretty much a tap in.

I was aware he had played with Grayson jnr. and felt Larry had cost SS a lot of money that based on performances was not wisely spent.

As a Blackpool football fan being disappointed with his performances that I had seen I said so on here which I thought was where you express your views on both the performances of the team as well as its players.I of course had no reason to believe he had problems in his private life.

I am sorry that he may have such problems and wish him well in overcoming them but I don`t feel any guilt in expressing my views at that time good or bad as I would any other player and as most fans like to do, that`s football.

Good luck to him.

Header against Ipswich mate. Good one too.
I think we all said or wrote a few things we probably regret now.

Really good post pal. There is a line though when there is criticsm which may be warranted, and then there is puerile nonsense and nastiness. Some of it is pure abuse.

And I can tell from the balance and honesty in your post that you are not one of the latter.

I was a critic although not publicly. I was so happy for him when he scored that winner and I honestly thought that would be the turning point in his Blackpool career. Unfortunately it wasn't to be and I really hope he recovers, physically and mentally. Whether he decides his future is in football or not, he has obviously been affected by social media and it has certainly made me think about what I write on here about young upcoming players.

There were only a handfulof posters that slaughtered him when he played.

The majority thought he needed time to develop.

There is a good footballer there. It's impossible to cheat the system unless you are playing for Glenn Hoddle.
