Happy Valley is that about Charlton Athletic.I will watch it, and definitely still enjoy it. But, I favour the first two series personally which I think were slightly more credible in terms of storyline and script.
It was originally a BBC 2 affair and once it gained popularity and shifted over to BBC1 I think it’s tried too hard, or found it difficult to remain as authentic.
Apologies for the slightly negative critique and it still can’t hold a candle to Happy Valley

Fell asleep after 15 minutes will try harder when I watch on catch up !Did anyone find it a little confusing?
I wasn’t sure if it was a follow on from previous series.
The armed robbery and follow up.
It made a little more sense at the end though.
I must be thick!
Anyone else admit it was baffling.

I'm blaming a weekend of grafting, shifting 10 tons of chippings and 3 tons of soil, among other jobsI enjoyed the first episode. It got straight into the story line whilst quickly catching up where the last season left off. But like Lala, Mrs Dave fell asleep after 15 minutes so she will be catching up on I player as well.
I don't know why 3 people on the thread so far fell asleep, it wasn't that bad
I have no excuse at all I think I burnt myself out with the anticipation of it all !I enjoyed the first episode. Quite handy that they can bring in forensics teams and all wear loads of PPE.Although noticeable I don't think the covid compliance impacted.
Agree, interesting start. And the big question, is Kate going to swing both ways?.
My other half is always falling asleep usually during her soaps if I don’t dig her she rewinds the bloody things & I’m forced to come on here for longer. I’ve suggested she watches them on fast forward, but funnily enough that never seems to go down well. Of course I never nod off Could be we are getting older... nah surely not.I enjoyed the first episode. It got straight into the story line whilst quickly catching up where the last season left off. Not sure it was too confusing - though I had half an eye on AVFTT which is never great for following plot linesDid anyone find it a little confusing?

It's like me and legal dramasI must be the only person who thinks this is the biggest pile of shit on television. It is so far fetched and inaccurate as to make it ridiculous. So many better series on than this utter drivel.
American Gods tonight, that's supposed to be far fetched and is great, same as Resident Alien another great series. Enjoyed the Terror too although it was very dark and claustrophobic but then it is Ridley Scott.
Whilst I disagree that it's a pile of shit, it's certainly no "Sherlock", which is one of the best police/detective dramas in recent years. I like Line of Duty, but as Lala said in the 2nd post in this thread, the story line in this series seems a little less credible than in previous series. We'll definitely be watching the next 6 episodes though.I must be the only person who thinks this is the biggest pile of shit on television. I never watch police documentaries but I do like some police dramas, Happy Valley was ace, Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes of course, my favourite though has to be the fly on the wall spoof, Operation Good Guys from the late 90's, Series 2 and 3 are hilarious and very very un PC, the one called Castaway is well worth catching on You Tube. It's like me and legal dramas
Can't watch them
Although he was thrown off a building so not all good. Hope he's ok in time for tomorrow night.Good to see the Chismeister get his big break on national TV.

Have you watched the Chicago 7 on Netflix? Watched it on Saturday night, thought it was great. It's like me and legal dramas

Believe it or not, I fell asleep with about 20 mins left as well. Just finished it now. Baffling as well, and not gripped by it yet.I fell asleep too and woke up with 20 mins to go. Not quite sure what is going on but have my suspicions something murky is afoot.
Were you reading the politics thread on here?Believe it or not, I fell asleep with about 20 mins left as well. Just finished it now. Baffling as well, and not gripped by it yet.
that's Unforgotten. It was pretty straight forward but a bit slow I was hoping they found the frozen body in the suspects freezer!
That's the thing with Line of Duty you sometimes have to remember what's happened in previous series to explain things.
Nope Jackie Laverty body was kept in Terry's freezer and hasn't been discovered as yet.that's Unforgotten.
The last series was brilliant the first episode was just wow and when the undercover cop had his throat cut well, it was the ending which was shite. The ending of last series was so poor - from memory something to do with 3 dots tapped out as he was dieing (morse code?) or something equally bizarre. Hope this series is better.
Yup, always new Chis was bound for greater thingsGood to see the Chismeister get his big break on national TV.
I don't know if I'm allowed to say this, but I will.
That Police Force seemed to be overladen by women in the higher ranks.
When did that happen in the 'Real World'?
Also they looked quite young to be carrying senior ranks.
However, Adrian Dunbar was his usual excellent self.
Apparently in the last 6 months the previous series of Line of Duty had 3 million requests on BBCi Player and the repeats of the last series were getting 2 million - add to that the millions who watched it at the time, I doubt many who weren't fans of the show aren't watching. That said, I was googling a few bits last nightAnyone new to this a bit confused.
Funnily enough I was watching/catching up on series 2 last night. Theres something about Keeley Hawes in the Lindsay Denton role thats hard to put down...Apparently in the last 6 months the previous series of Line of Duty had 3 million requests on BBCi Player and the repeats of the last series were getting 2 million - add to that the millions who watched it at the time, I doubt many who weren't fans of the show aren't watching.
