No surprise that really. Probably been here for months but no one tested for it
Big fat bo- sigh...better dust those old muzzles off gentleman
Don’t need to dust off mine, I’ve kept wearing one all through. Looking after number one and my small way of protecting others. Can’t see the problem myself. If doing that saves one life and avoids tougher restrictions, then it’s worth it.better dust those old muzzles off gentleman
as too have I, totally agree.Don’t need to dust off mine, I’ve kept wearing one all through. Looking after number one and my small way of protecting others. Can’t see the problem myself. If doing that saves one life and avoids tougher restrictions, then it’s worth it.
“Small way of protecting others”.Don’t need to dust off mine, I’ve kept wearing one all through. Looking after number one and my small way of protecting others. Can’t see the problem myself. If doing that saves one life and avoids tougher restrictions, then it’s worth it.
Yes, I’ve considered all of that and no, none of us know we aren’t carrying the virus unless we test almost daily. Do you?“Small way of protecting others”.
Couple of points on this.
Do you honestly think a fabric mask is going to protect others but the vaccine and the booster won’t stop spread?
Have you considered that wearing a mask when there’s nothing wrong with you isn’t saving any lives, because (drum roll)… there’s nothing wrong with you ?
Ok so on your points. Do we just constantly wear mask now then on the off chance we are carrying a virus for the rest of our lives? That is not rational and an unhealthy logic.Yes, I’ve considered all of that and no, none of us know we aren’t carrying the virus unless we test almost daily. Do you?
WHO said yesterday that if 95% of people wear masks, that would save 150,000 lives in Europe between now and the spring.
as I said, I can’t see the problem, it’s better than lockdown.
No problem, you crack on, I’ll do my thing.Ok so on your points. Do we just constantly wear mask now then on the off chance we are carrying a virus for the rest of our lives? That is not rational and an unhealthy logic.
Re: the WHO? Why have Germany’s cases spiralled when they have had a strict mask mandate?
There’s numerous vids of Whitty and Van Tam and Fauci and co, all saying masks don’t do anything… they are just pure theatre.
This shit never ends with your outlook and philosophy. Every time a variant comes we get restrictions again on the off chance we might have something wrong with us.
It’s turned into a cult this nonsense especially when people are double and triple jabbed too
That’s exactly my point. Everyone should be able to do their own thing. No problem, you crack on, I’ll do my thing.
Or maybe a sensible precaution, but hey, what do we know. That’s exactly my point. Everyone should be able to do their own thing.
However, some people want to take that choice away from people. “Compulsory”… “Mandatory”… it’s a cult.
Spot onOk so on your points. Do we just constantly wear mask now then on the off chance we are carrying a virus for the rest of our lives? That is not rational and an unhealthy logic.

I think the ‘as soon as possible‘ is incase the vaccine does offer protection from this strain. So we don’t know if the vaccines are any good against this variant, but we really need to get our 3rd vaccination as soon as possible?!
I’m not an anti-vaxxer or conspiracy theorist but that doesn’t add up.
We have almost double the highest tests per head of population than any other country, which explains why we have the highest cases per head. As for deaths, there are at least 25 countries with higher deaths per head of population than us.The clown show have no idea what they are doing. They keep telling us to do the same thing over and over again. We have the highest death rate and highest number of daily cases per head of capita in the world.
Vaccines, mask wearing and lockdowns have made no difference at all except to destroy small businesses and line the pockets of the corporates and MPs.
It’s already been stated that the best form of defence against it is to catch it so let the thing rip through society and get it done with. Trying to keep people sterile from it clearly doesn’t work.
The media’s questions last night were horrific. This is only going one way, another lockdown.
Scare tactics by the mainstream media will ensure enough public backing.
TTV for home games here we come.
Exactly this!I don’t think we will lock down at all.
I think it’s only the uncertainty regarding the vaccine response that is causing concern.
In my opinion it’s highly likely the vaccine will do a good enough job. None of the experts are saying it definitely wont. It’s mild precautionary measures for now. And lets face it, if Johnson did absolutely nothing at this juncture then there will be many accusing him of having ‘ blood on his hands ‘ should the absolute worst scenario pan out and we have no protection so far against this strain.
I’m not overly concerned at all, and there is no point in being so right now.
Exactly this!
Pretty much everything you have said is incorrect and finished off by a ridiculous statement. The clown show have no idea what they are doing. They keep telling us to do the same thing over and over again. We have the highest death rate and highest number of daily cases per head of capita in the world.

Yeah and although it was mentioned in passing by whitty, why not the focus by the media on the evidence I provided in this thread.Yup we had it again this morning on BBC.
Expert from Cambridge Uni talking about the new variant being even more spikey and even more contagious.
BBC pushing the fear buttons and deliberately trying to get the expert to say let’s lockdown.
Expert was basically pushing for the non vaccinated to get jabbed and stated vaccine will reduce any symptoms.
BBC then once again asked about Lockdown….
What’s the obsession with closing down the economy and making peoples life hell? Destroying businesses, increasing debt, unemployment and misery?
The country is vaccinated. The over 50s are triple vaccinated. The under 50s have a good % that have already contracted Covid and the majority are vaccinated too.
This is it. Germany imposed ‘medical masks’ and ‘cases’ still spiralled. So masks are largely theatre to make people feel safe and so the government can be seen to be doing something.
I agree with this, I think the worst thing is the media campaign & their language regarding this new “horrific… “worst yet”… “deadliest”.. variant.I don’t think we will lock down at all.
I think it’s only the uncertainty regarding the vaccine response that is causing concern.

Who?Yes, exactly this but there are far too many who can't wait to lockdown.
So the BBC should only interview people who you agree with?I agree with this, I think the worst thing is the media campaign & their language regarding this new “horrific… “worst yet”… “deadliest”.. variant.
Many people have been through the mill, financially & mentally. They’ve done their bit and are ready to crack on with life and accept it’s risks. Constantly banging the drum to lockdown and using headlines, stories & deliberately utilising negative guests, as the BBC did yesterday with Susan Michie, is disgusting for the nation’s mental health.
The irony is, in a couple of months they will be showcasing a ‘Be kind’ and ‘Mental Health Matters’ campaign after they’ve deliberately done the above to people when many really don’t need that worry.
Complete and utter wankers, but the worst thing is, it’s deliberate.
If anyone doubts the above, just remember why and what caused the petrol ‘crisis’.
Finally, someone else actually agrees that the media are a massive part of the problem here.I agree with this, I think the worst thing is the media campaign & their language regarding this new “horrific… “worst yet”… “deadliest”.. variant.

*sighsSo the BBC should only interview people who you agree with?
So you want the BBC to only interview people who agree with you as well?*sighs
No they shouldn’t, but if you think Michie is the go to person after stating it was ‘careless and reckless’ to open back up in July, when we’ve all enjoyed normal lives for the past 4 months, then I give up. She didn’t want life to return to normal. She didn’t want large crowds so the football we’ve enjoyed since August was a no-go. You ok with that?
It’s no shock she thinks we should go “harder and faster” with restrictions, she probably doesn’t celebrate Christmas or never has, which if you look into her background is well known.
The point is, let’s have people trying to assure the nation and use language to calm them till they clearly know what’s happening.
Rather than make half of it shit themselves as highlighted on this thread.
Are you ok?So you want the BBC to only interview people who agree with you as well?
Who?

I'm fine thank you. So to sum up, you want the BBC to only interview people who agree with you??.Are you ok?
Ok let’s roll out the communist Susan Michie.
She’ll help everyone mentally & her track record on calling for more restrictions has been brilliant so far.
Merry Christmas.
Come on then, name some of these people? I don’t know anyone who wants a lockdown. I know plenty who are doing their best to be sensible and do what they think is the right thing to do. I know people who are worried about the virus but want to live life as normally as they can. I also know people who are blasé, won’t get vaccinated, won’t follow any rules, because…… well I don’t really know why because! No one wants lockdown again though.
Calm down Andrew Marr.I'm fine thank you. So to sum up, you want the BBC to only interview people who agree with you??.
Herts
I refer you to my response to South Shore (above).
I was generalising but if you wan't a specific name, I will give you Susan Michie - thanks Kebab.
I am of the opinion that there are far too many people who are perfectly happy to sit at home and get paid - be it 80% or their full whack if they are lucky enough.
I am not stating anybody specifically on here and getting personal but in my opinion there are plenty - both in and out of AVFTT world - that don't want to move on.
If I am wrong, I am wrong but I don't think I'm on my own in holding such an opinion ?
They’ll always be academics and so called experts who will call for a lockdown, but the average person like you and me don’t want lockdowns, we’re not even talking about lockdowns, that’s what the media are calling it, and we all know the media love a headline, it’s wearing masks in shops and on public transport and putting some countries on the travel red list. I can’t see a problem with any of those things and I have never stopped wearing a mask in the shops or on public transport.
If we go into lockdown again, full lockdown, which I just can’t see happening, then the Covid shit will have had to have truly hit the fan and the vaccines don’t work and people are dying like they were in the winter or worse and hospitals are full. If that happens we’re fucked.
