I think we’ll want £3 million plus. It’s a tiny sum for Premier League clubs but even still I’m not so sure they’ll stump it up because he’s not a ‘name’ nor does he have the ‘pedigree’ - it’s absolute rubbish and I disagree with it whole heartedly and believe if a player is good enough then they’re good enough but football is a funny game and often common sense and good reason goes out of the window. The same clubs will pay millions for a 17 year old who’s never played mens football and quite possibly never will though just in the hope they prove themselves good enough. Yet Marv is without doubt good enough and could step up right away.
The newly promoted teams will want Premier League pedigree, the teams who had a poor season will want proven quality players and will likely look abroad, the top teams will want young gems for the future or top players from European leagues or the best from other PL clubs. I can’t see where Marv fits in.
My biggest worry is a Championship club with money to spend… and all of a sudden Sunderland, Hull and Boro spring to mind.
