I won't be buying any season tickets if McCarthy is still in charge next season

The league we are in is irrelevant as I've watched us in all 4 league's. I'm just not willing to waste my time and effort trapesing up and down the motorway every week to watch a load of big lads just launch the ball into orbit

It's the worst football I've ever seen at Bloomfield Road

And I've seen some right shite with Jimmy Mullen, Sam Ellis, Colin Hendry, Lee Clark, McDonald etc etc

It's dog shit ......

So you’ve seen just 90 minutes of football under McCarty at Bloomfield road and it’s already the worst you ever seen?

You haven’t been to a lot of Games then Philip that’s all I can say as 55 years of watching the Pool there’s been some real howlers trust me far too many to list on here.

I’ll give you the benefit of doubt though survive or not I don’t think McCarthy will still be here next season.

Bloody hell Phil are you ever happy?

I also watched the Boro game where we only had 80 successful passes, that's the worse we have had all season and shows that he doesn't want to play any football

Been to about 1000 games I reckon

Not been a good start. No one wants to see Jerry right wing and Madine upfront as a lone striker. Asking far too much of him and only capable in a front two.

The only hope is that Mick will learn a lot from Tuesday and hopefully it won’t be repeated. With the right team selection, we would have won that on Tuesday. Instead we were lucky to get point and made Huddersfield look like a team from the league above.

The board have already come out and said he’s here until the end of the season and they’ll already be working on his successor.

Poor post this, would have thought after the boycott years most fans would be buzzing just to be able to be back in the stadium, supporting the team.

It is a proper ‘look at me post’ and like you’re throwing your toys out the pram over a hypothetical scenario.

Tbf to Phil, I get his point, if MM is manager next season and the football is just hoof ball then I'll be weighing it up aswell. Regardless of the league I'm not interested in watching that type of football. Some don't care about the style as long as we win and that's absolutely fine but I think it matters and Mick ball is a lot things I dislike about football. If it can be mixed up then fair enough I'm not a perfectionist about it but if its pure hoof ball Ill have a decision to make.

Me and my mate both walked away from Tuesday buzzing, it was a proper rollercoaster and we snatched a point from the jaws of defeat with 10 men with late goals and drama. Is that not why we go to the football, for those moments? I’m not expecting liquid football at this stage but I do want to see some fight.

I was proud of the lads for the second half performance, I was proud of Jerry for running himself into the ground and I was proud of our fans in the north.

Yes the first half was terrible and the team selection was poor but in the emotion of it all it felt like it could be a turning point in our season. I really hope that is the case.

Huddersfield fans will have been deflated going home, Blackpool fans should have had a little spring in their step. If we’d have lost we would have started to lose touch but we’re hanging in there and we need to keep 11 players on the pitch against Rotherham and get the win, the fans will be right behind the team.

I'm just being honest

I'm not willing to travel 4 or 5 hours every week to watch that garbage

If we stay up I reckon he could be kept on and i won't be committing to season tickets he he's still in charge

I came away thinking 2 points lost and I was pondering if I can be bothered to make the same journey again on Saturday to watch that style of football

Probably more would buy season tickets. I can’t stand the bloke but if he keeps us up then fab. Just needs to play the players in their best position and the strongest 11 every single game

That’s absolutely fair enough, but what good does it do posting it on here other than try and seek attention?

yep, agree. Walking away was a massive buzz having come back twice with ten men to gain a point. But lets not kid ourselves it was dire stuff for nigh on 80 minutes until Bowler was introduced. But that's gone now and it's all about saturday.

But he won't play that

He will play the biggest most physical players we have and tell the players to clear their lines and don't take risks whilst keeping our creative players on the bench

Who cares get one or not it's not compulsory to buy one.

But less than 12 months ago the o/p was debating wether to get one under Critchley.

Pinch of salt.
No it's not but I'm just wondering if other people think the same

Especially ones that live a long way away and make a massive effort to travel

Wow Michelle why can’t you stand him ?

I think he’s very likeable a real character

Question his tactics lineups etc but as a person what’s not to like ?

Do you know something we don’t ?

You don't just not turn up because you don't like a managers style of play.your just attention seeking.
Yeah I will just pick the odd game not wasting my time and effort committing to season tickets to watch that dross

This is exactly what does my head in about us fans post boycott.
We had it with Grayson, lesser extent Critich all the way with Appleton now Mcarthy just get behind the manager FFS,It's all about winning games and if they don't then get rid.

I post on here every morning whilst I'm on the train

Isn't the site all about people posting their views and opinions
No doubting that your a proper fan even more so with the travelling you do and bringing your children up as seasiders. You also are prepared to argue your points from a tactical point of view which is fair enough that you actually watch and study the game.
Where you let yourself down nearly every time you post is its to provoke a reaction and there's an agenda behind it that your too stubborn to ever change. Critchley bad, Appleton good, Mansford bad etc. Your too black and white and to be honest a wind up merchant.

You reckon? 😂

I wasn't on Tuesday no and I'm still not now having made the 5 hour round trip to watch that bag of shit
Totally with you, I went over the road after the game and looked round, everyone appeared to be celebeating like we’d just beat Preston 8 nil😯 where as I was just stood there trying to come to terms with the rubbish I’d just witnessed, it was ten times worse than anything Appleton served up in every way

A full U turn from not long ago. Giving pelters to anyone who questioned boring hoofball tactics. Support the team, win at all costs etc.

You couldn't make it up!

This is different to be honest

Whilst I didn't necessarily think Critchley was all that I supported him and the club 100% when I was at the matches

Granted I didn't buy into the bullshit the club sold us about the project and the Blackpool way but I supported the club

Same with Grayson and Appleton

I'm now unsure about the people who are running our club as there is absolutely no joined up thinking or plan in place

The board went all in on Critchley and backed him in LG 1 even after a truly awful start and Critchley did well to keep us safe in the Championship even though the football wasn't that great at times.

We will never really know why he left but something wasn't right towards the end of the season

Appleton was a bizarre appointment and was never going to get the time from our fans and he wasn't backed properly in the summer window, starting the season with no recognised right back, few defensive midfield options and having no decent wingers really hampered him.

I supported him as I thought once he could strengthen in wide areas we would he OK, we strengthened in January then he got the sack bizarrely after he just signed Bowler and Rogers

The project/process was fucked again

McCarthy is completely different to both Appleton and Critchley who to be fair to them both are footballing coaches who are both highly thought of in terms of playing the right way and developing young skillfull players

McCarthy isn't any of that, his football belongs in the 1980s to be honest it's all long ball win the second balls, run harder footballing shite

My point is I don't have any faith in the board and I certainly don't want to watch this sort of football especially when we have such creative options like Poveda, Patino and Bowler who don't seem to be rated by the manager

I've had season tickets through some dark times McMahon when we were back in the bottom league and I also committed during lock down and during seasons in the 1980s and 90s when we were proper shite

Buying a season ticket when you live in a different country isn't always a given

Living where I do means attending home games isn't easy, the trains are crap and with road works mean its a 5 hour round trip normally so it's always a decision if I renew my season tickets or not

Watching this sort of football isn't my idea of fun and I don't have any confidence that the board know what they are doing to be honest

We might stay up and might not, that's not the point It's the lack of direction from above and the lack of any quality football that's made me post this

Sorry longer than expected post

Whatever happens i will be there next season with a season ticket. It was miserable years when we could not get there because of the boycott. Get behind the team and club and support them.

Talksport are definitely missing an opportunity not utilising you mate 😊

I’m sure fans come and go each season. The whole ‘no faith in the board’ excuse is a right load of old bollocks though tbh.I suppose it just goes to show how football has changed for the worse that folk now want to poke their nose into everything.

I can get why someone might not enjoy watching the style of football..( I can’t say it bothers me really) but as long as the board aren’t bankrupting the Club or nicking all the money I’m happy.

I just got in my car and drove home thinking what the fcuk have I just watched

That's a low bar after everything people did to try and get rid of the Oystons

I know it's spelt correctly but I read the OP as Phil trapezing up and down the motorway to home games. That I want to see.

Haha I’ve never forgiven him when we played Ipswich at home and he helped get our players sent off. He’s just so cocky and arrogant and his voice goes thru me

So who would you choose as manager, seeing as you clearly think, you know it all & would make a better manager?

That, in a nutshell is exactly what I think. A clear, reasoned argument with no abusive messages, just seeing it as he sees it and he’s not alone, far from it and people who don’t see it now will eventually get it. He’s not saying it to gain notoriety, it’s a view many of us think and it absolutely has to be heard. No problem with people who don’t agree, that’s the way of the world but to ignore and put silly one line retorts isn’t helpful and just means some like to stick their fingers in their ears and dismiss it without actually thinking about what is said.
