Finnigan Signs.

I don’t have a problem with this signing for the future, especially now TOB has gone. So we’ve upgraded there, great.

I think we are light in terms of a defensive midfielder. KD was playing well and we don’t really have anyone who can put their foot in. The one we have just signed is injured, even if he is that type of player.

Not exactly what you want when we’re chasing promotion.

Boring football? Have you actually seen us play?
Their utterly clueless.

Modern possession based football for some is boring, but every team is doing it at different levels.
It's Third division football what does anyone expect Man City they need to watch the opposition for a change and think are they more or less boring than us.

Rangers thought that Charlie wasn't good enough for them. United though that Pogba and Zaha weren't good enough. Clubs get things wrong, sometimes players need regular first team football to really push on. I'm not saying this lad will be a prem player in the future, but I'm certainly not gonna write off a lad before he's even kicked a ball for us.
Remember what Leeds fans said about Crainey...

I really like these sort of signings.

When you get a player from the lower league's, you do wonder how many levels above you can get them to play at.

With players who've come from top prem academies, you might get a player with a better football upbringing and a higher ceiling. Not always obviously, but they aren't at top academies for nothing.

Southampton is a prem academy or had been for most of his time and a well known producer of top talent too.

Working under Critch and in a positive environment, this is the sort of signing we want to develop and that fits the model.

Plus, the main indicator I go off is what word is used to describe the signing on the club website article.

The club sometimes say pleased but...

Blackpool Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Ryan Finnigan from Southampton for an undisclosed fee.

That is all the analysis you need...

Hopefully not, because...

Blackpool Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Tashan Oakley-Boothe on a two-year contract, with an option for a further 12 months.

Blackpool Football Club can announce Tashan Oakley-Boothe's contract has been terminated by mutual consent, allowing him to pursue an opportunity elsewhere.

We can forgive the odd error, but in general it's a solid system 😬

Who remembers the nursery rhyme?

There once was a man called Michael Finnegan

He had whiskers on his chin-egan

Up came the wind and blew them in again

Poor old Michael Finnegan, begin again

I'm fine with that

But when we have a bloke who lives thousands of miles away on another continent who hasn't even seen an English professional football match live telling us what a player he will be forgive me for being a bit cynical
attacking my credentials for not ever being to a match is hilariously misguided and ignorant.

There’s this new invention (not sure if you’ve heard of it) called “The Internet”, that allows people from thousands of miles away to see the exact same you see while at a match. I have the internet so I am able to watch as many matches as I want and I see the same game you do, funny world!

Jog on!

Blackpool Football Club is delighted to announce the arrival of Jensen Weir on a season-long loan from Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Club can confirm Jensen Weir has been recalled by Brighton & Hove Albion.

Wouldn't read too much in to what the club puts out when a player signs. It's once they start playing and Critchley tries to shoehorn them into a role they don't know or won't pick them as they're not CJ Hamilton and things like that.

Your opinion is valued on here 👍

I saw we'd signed a 20 year old midfielder from Southampton for a fee and thought folk on here would be doing cartwheels.

"No, not THAT permanent signing. Not THAT undisclosed fee."

Another to come in first team ready, no point in bringing in two first team midfielders as who out of Dembele Morgan and Norburn would get dropped? No doubt when fit this lad could do a job before the end of the season should we need.
When is first team ready getting announced?

Well said. I probably get a better view of most games than Phil, from my armchair in Murcia.

Watching a match live is completely different you ** idiot

I think you're taking this a little too seriously, it was tongue in cheek, but tbf he was a highly rated talent, not a guarantee of success.

That’s why Southampton let him go. Because it makes sense to them to let go of a kid they know better than anyone else and you say has a bright future. He also does nothing for us at this point as he’s injured.
Southampton let him go because they are running close on the fair play calculator and need to ship a few out

Does Virtue not put the foot in?
As the match against Bolton progressed he looked stronger, he deserves league starts unless he is another we are selling

He's certainly got the perfect name for a chant.

We've got a young man called Ryan Finnigan, he joined Blackpool from Southamp-aton, he came to play with Morgan and Norburn, we'll march to Wembley again for promotion

He certainly doesn't deserve a league start ahead of Morgan. Under the radar type of player but for me he never does enough to make you think he should be starting.

Hopefully that will bring him more up to speed, first half he was evidently not match fit but got better as you say as the game wore on

He's had high hopes for a number of relatively young midfielders he's brought in.
Little in the way of success though!
I'm hearing Oakley-Boothe has gone.
Yes ,but Yates and Bowler brought in good money and 1 or 2 others have gone with undisclosed fees. We will never get massive money for any of our players because of the division they are in . Yet if you forget the money and look at the improvement over the last couple of years [even with poor managers ] Dougle ,CJ , Yates , Bowler, Husband , Gabriel , Ecky . Most pool fans would say that they are all playing better and they cost us little. A bit like Finnigan.

Brilliant comment, Simonised, ref the air fryer interchange. Made me laugh out loud in the middle of a cafe. The joys of retirement!
