Finnigan Signs.

So Ryan is not afraid to make mistakes according to his interview. Should fit in well then!!
Seriously though, wish him all the best and that he can make a positive contribution to the first team. COUP!

In an interview today Critchley said any signing would have to better than we already have but that any signing would find it difficult to get into the team. Contradictory ?
Presumably he'll say Finnegan is not match fit etc.

That’s why Southampton let him go. Because it makes sense to them to let go of a kid they know better than anyone else and you say has a bright future. He also does nothing for us at this point as he’s injured.
Having a bright future at this level or Championship level is much different to having a bright future at prem level. Southampton thinking that he may never be good enough for them, doesn't mean he won't be good enough for us, we are on 2 different levels.

Southampton let him go because they'll be in the Premier League next year and the lad probably wants first team football.

He could have a ceiling as a mid table Championship player which wouldn't help them, but still be a tremendous asset to us.

Rangers thought that Charlie wasn't good enough for them. United though that Pogba and Zaha weren't good enough. Clubs get things wrong, sometimes players need regular first team football to really push on. I'm not saying this lad will be a prem player in the future, but I'm certainly not gonna write off a lad before he's even kicked a ball for us.

We just don't know, file under one for the future I think but certainly not a player who is going to go straight into the team and improve what we have.

We’re behind. We need players who are ready to achieve our objectives now. You say he might not be Orem level, which if true means we would be developing him for secondary market rather than the primary market if a premier league club. Hope he does well but he is not where our focus should be.

You mena like Yates who we all knew wasn't Prem level but was very good for us and made the club some very good money? The secondary market is worth millions and that's the model of the club. I get that we need better than what we have but I'm not gonna write the lad off like you seem to be doing. Truth is that you don't have a clue how good he is and neither do I. Give him a chance before you get on you high horse about him.

Yawn, he's a 20 year old who has already proven he's a cut above League 2 and has potential to go even higher.

Good signing, and even better if he can contribute this season.
Do you ever think before you post? So he’s not league two and may be able to play at a higher level. Oh he’s also not match fit. That’s your idea of a smart move to fulfill our needs now???

I hope he or anyone else does well but he is not what we need right now. We need match fit, proven at this level and preferably tall and strong who can improve our team now and get us in a playoff position which we’ve been close to all season. Nothing else important right now.

If you look at the history of our club our predominant customer base has always been premier league/old division one.

I agree but where's the money coming from for that? That type of player isn't cheap and we're losing millions every season.

Where did I say he fulfills our needs now, don't put words into my mouth, you whopper.

Has nothing to do with whether he comes good or not. Is he what we need this season to get promoted? If not no point. We have loads of development players and statistically how many make it to our first team and then onto a big move upward?
