£20 tickets against Luton

If it's true that the £30 is putting a lot of people off then presumably we'll sell a lot more for Luton.

If we don't then it's likely to be something else.
Club just need to get that message out there and keep pushing it.

Thats the downfall of one off deals, at least when it's cheaper all the time people know the price.

When its higher people think its higher unless they hear, the odd social media post can be missed so word of mouth and multiple social media post etc is needed.

We will definitely get more fans coming, just how many.

Sorry it was actually Colchester United is 2004, but we thought the game finished 2-2 but Google says 1-1 and I’m sure their keeper was called dean gherkin. But anyway the fact is if there weren’t a cheap deal for that game my wife would never have gone.

Just to add the crowd for that Colchester game was 6,500…..was above our normal average gate for that season…..Colchester won’t have brought any fans so maybe there was a deal on after all
So did your wife only start drinking in pubs if it was free beer 😯
No problem, next time use your brain to understand that we come from one of the most underprivileged areas of the country, where the difference between 20 and 30 quid for a ticket matters to people, as it impacts their budget. Not everyone in the area is able to be in a privileged position, so saying "you're either a fan or you're not" with relation to buying a ticket is just absolutely brainless.
nonsense

Yep gives us a chance to have a another look how much price can affect things. Always helps if we've won a few games too.

This will help people when money is tight, it also feels a good deal.
Yeah, it skews the analysis when results will play a big role in who takes the offer up.

I won't bother going further as it's been done and no fucker listens anyway.

Its a simple principle that applies to all things that are sold, aka products.

Its still selling something, a ticket.

Not everyone can afford top whack week in week out. When its cheaper and money goes further people are more likely to go more regularly or bring someone with them.

Not sure why you're trying to debate this.

Doesn't matter how much 'pride' you have if you can't afford to go each week ar high prices or don't feel its value for money.

Casual fans need enticing, its how you grow thw fanbase.

Surely you want that, or should all non pool fans just wake up and be willing to shell out 30 quid each game from the off. 🙄
If that’s the price then yes👍🏻

But we also had a good opening result of the season and even for that and the next the crowd wasn't great, but there was some early appy apathy.

Well never get the exact same circumstances to test perfectly, but we'll be able to see an obvious rise that wasn't there before.

Just hope we don't lose a load of games, as that'll damage it a little.

Be interesting to see if has any impact on numbers ..Not sure if I fully buy into this deprived area thing tbh, people come from all over, not just within a mile radius of the ground after all…plus if financially your struggling, spend the money on food and bills….

Well its not been happening has it, thats factual. Attendances have been down.

It's tough economic times, so making it more affordable for fans in a poor town to be able to attend in basic common sense, if you want crowds to go up.

Maybe thats what some are doing, spending money on bills and not coming to the matches as much or at all.

A cheaper price might not help everyone, if you don't have it you don't have it, but it can help most.

Its also a good message for the club to give fans, helping them attend for less, it's easy to sell a cheaper price. Everyone loves a bargain.

You use your brain fella, when you’ve got a minute scan down all the football league clubs, I can guarantee all the top supported ones are from the most deprived areas in this country, the upper class towns struggle to get 2000, you know why, cos it’s in our blood👍🏻🧡🧡 you can’t force loyalty and passion 👍🏻

Factually speaking attendances haven’t actually been down. The club believe there’s actually been a very minor increase overall - albeit they attribute the lower on the day ticket sales with the increase in season ticket uptake - which of course does support the suggestion that lower ticket pricing would result in an increase in sale numbers.

They have been poor, have we even had above 10k home fans yet.. even against Blackburn, looked very sparse too at times this season.

Certainly not up compared to last seasons games nearer the end of the campaign. If they are comparing to last season start with covid still very much on peoples minds then its closer, but doesn't help they don't release attendance figures with the numbers on.

We also have categories for young adults too now so to not be higher from a higher ST amount is pretty poor imo.

Take someone with you......I will be doing, and hopefully to they might get hooked...
Yep thats exactly the idea, if just 1k fans brought someone with them, we'd jump massively in home support for that day at least.

Don't think you'll ever create the perfect testing model.

My thinking is that it's a season on season comparison. That is you do it and see where it takes you, then you do the analysis with the obvious adaptions as best as you can at the end of the season.

We've struggled to break 10k so far so if we seen an obvious jump, it'll be clear.

I think this is worth highlighting....

"What’s more, for the price of what a standard adult match ticket usually costs (£30), you can combine buying a Club Membership and a Member ticket for this Luton match for the same amount."

If people wanted a membership, for this game get one, get in the game too for 15, 15 for the Membership, 30 in total.

All games 25 going forward.

I've not been its biggest fan but for those who want to do it, seems a good deal.

So you can only be a fan if you go to every game?

The club themselves said we're approximately 1100 sales down on the same games last year with around 300 season tickets up. (Structured dialogue minutes)

However we look at that, it suggests the numbers are down and unless I'm missing something here, that's about -800

I'm not being combative for the sake of it, but where are you getting the idea that the club believe attendance is up from? (possibly in the same minutes in a bit I've missed?)

I think the 1100 is from all games combined and that's offset by 300 additional per game. So 1100 down but 1800 (300 x 6) up.

Ah, ok. I see. It's likely though that the extra 300 were previously matchday buyers so it doesn't follow that it's a net gain necessarily but I'm to tired to work out what it means.

Last Saturday, a gate of over 11,500. I doubt there were 1,200 Watford fans.
