10 warriors out there second half……

Nice to see some positive posts on here, it's like watching those segments of children in need in here tonight, great team spirit despite the fact no-one also acknowledging the fact madine should never had been sent off

Love your optimism but the reality is we have a lot of average players, play negative football, far too many injuries and going for a World record number of red cards.
The players I agree grafted that second half but that was a very winnable game and we screwed it up
One player screwed it up tonight, Big Gaz. If we had had 11 players on the pitch for 90 minutes and a half decent ref we would have had 3 points. Beat Rotherham and Stoke at home in 2 of our next 3 games and things will look a lot different 👍🏼

Not so sure mate. Unfortunately he set himself up with the ref by moaning so much when one of their players didn’t get booked for fouling him a few minutes earlier……. the ref had eyes on every challenge made by and on him after that

…….. who showed why we will still be a Championship team next year 👏 👏👏👏👏
Doubt it very much mate.
All over them like a bad rash in the first half hour and can't remember 1 shot on target. They get a chance from an awful mistake from Nelson and the rest is history.
Love the optimism but Bowler's late goal only papered over the cracks.
I was hoping for more off McCarthy after his early interviews but it looks like he's reverted to type with hoofball 😕

Asking a lot beating both but a win against Rotherham would bring them back into it

The, side selected to play may have been a good call away from home to a, top 6 side, but at home against a relegation rival it was pants.
Hope the teams we play do not have any giants playing as, 2 of our taller players, are out for several games. Again admire your optimism and hope we do not go down, but we are in the relegation positions for a reason.

Agree we’re in a relegation position for a reason but my post is about tonight. Play like that til May and we will be fine 👍🏼😀

The BBC match stats don’t show that mate. They had 10% more possession over the 90 minutes and only 3 more shots
We had 10 men. Can’t be too critical.

It was painful viewing though. They couldn’t string a pass together and had no confidence on the ball.

I'm looking forward to a good 90 minute performance, but until MM picks the more creative team to start, I'm not holding my breath.

It was a great late comeback though , and a point feels almost like a win. But we have to start with the players who made the difference late on, Bowler and Rogers (Poveda centrally as well please).

We were great after Bowler came on, but for most of the 2nd half, we didn't create nearly enough and didn't look like scoring.

Really pleased with the spirit the lads showed at the end though. Well recovered. 👏 👏 👏

That point tonight turned out to be immense imo, stopped Udders gaining 3 points, confidence high going into the Rotherham game, and hopefully now Madine is grounded MM will have to change his starting line up, starting Bowler(or at least bringing him on a lot earlier) plus Lyons and Rogers. The fight to survive goes on!

One person screwed it up tonight, our manager putting out that awful team from the start, if he doesn't change it and caries on with 5 at the back goofball then we'll be down by April.
did you actually watch the game. Just because it was suggested before the game that it was five at the back doesn't mean it was!

I did watch it, I thought it was 5 at the back, well if that was 4 at the back and they left out our best players that's even worse. Commentators seemed to think it was 5 at the back too.

It was still goofball and it was absolutely dogshite for 75 minutes against a really poor Huddersfield side. Great heart and fight back but we should have been playing like that from minute one.

FFS - it wasn't 5 at the back.

Can you tell me who the 5th player - if it was CJ then his GPS was fucked.

The commentators said 5 at the back, but even with 4 at the back the team selection was shite and it showed of nearly 80 minutes. If all people have got is 5 or 4 at the back after a performance like that then ** hell!!

It was a great comeback but it should have been much better than that. Some clearly think that selection and tactics were okay and others didn't, we got a point we didn't deserve so we now have to win on Saturday, 4 points was the minimum from these 2 home games.

You didn't watch the match then ?

It was clearly a back four. Hubby LB, Goode and Nelson CH, and Connolly RB. When Goode got injured, Lyons came on at RB and Connolly shifted to CH. No idea why the commentators would say a back five, unless they were watching a different game!

He gave the ref the opportunity & their player went down like a sack of spuds like they do, I'd bet if you'd punched him on the nose he'd have sprung up & chased you all over the pitch.

And you thought it was 5 at the back ? Jeez.
So what send Colin Greenall an email and tell him he was wrong to? it doesn't excuse that first 75 minutes does it or the hoofball tactics, did you think it was good? Huddersfield were there for the taking and that team selection was horrible.

It even came up on the screen before kick off, I didn't take much notice of it once the game got going and most of the time the ball was in the air.

To be fair, since CJ has played the wingback role recently, and Husband does play CH, maybe they just assumed from the lineup.

To be fair, it didn't make much difference did it? I've just listened to MM's post match interview and I'm not sure I liked what e said about Bowler. He also said he picked his 4 most experienced defenders (so he knew it was 442! 😂) but I think he made an error there. Was Thorniley injured? He is better than all our centre halves but wasn't even on the bench?

It's a total mystery to me why Thorniley isn't first choice tbh.

Great support from the stands, wonderful spirit shown by all the players barring the goal machine, some great skills shown by the subs, but if the 10 on the pitch are warriors then it was a case of lions led by donkeys!
Whatever happens between now and May I hope McCarthy and Madine aren't at Blackpool next season.

We need to win games Mosser? You can’t do that with your skilful creative players getting cold on the bench.

I can understand looking at a team and disagreeing with 1 or 2 selections but that team was about 6 selections wrong. Wrong formation. Everything about it was shit. We can’t keep saying great fighting spirit. Doesn’t give you 3 points. Trying to score goals does. And we weren’t remotely interested in doing that from the start. Really poor.

A draw papers over the cracks. If we didn’t get that equaliser we would be talking about one of the worst home performances in a very long time.

We haven’t won in 12 but you’re confident we’ll win 2 out of the next 3? I hope you’re right.
I don’t think the character or spirit of the players is in question, I think they always give everything.
Playing our most creative players and playing to their strengths would be a start.

Just posted on another thread that the fact we were no worse and arguably better without Madine and 10 men speaks volumes. His ban is a blessing.

... most of the time the ball was in the air.

Watching it I was reminded of Brian Clough saying, "If I'd wanted the ball in the air, I'd have hired a flock of pigeons." 😁

Perhaps MM will get that out of his system now after seeing what his flair players did as subs. (Nah - he won't.)

We may not win two out of the next three, but this is the turning point we've been waiting for.

As you say, the players will continue to give everything, and we can hope that MM will see that we need some of our more creative players to start. Everyone I spoke to before the match was confused by that starting line-up.

The only possible explanation is that he planned to frustrate and batter them for the first half, then bring our flair players to cut through their knackered defence. Madine took this plan too literally!

Funny how we should have gone 1 up then in the first half when the ball cruelly ricocheted off Carey’s knee and went inches wide…… how did that happen if we weren’t attacking 🤔
