14 league games to go!

Of the remaining 14 games, when we played these teams earlier this season we won 5, lost 7, drew 2.
Took 17 points, do you think we will improve on these previous results and get enough point to secure a play-off place?

In a word NO.

With some really tough games coming up most away from home I actually think we’ll finish a place or two lower than we are now.

was told today that against the bottom ten teams we've won just three games. Don't know if that's true or not but if so it's pretty disgraceful. Nah, it's not true at all.

Oh I mate. We're sure to be close with the swashbuckling football on offer.

You are deluded of you think we will reach the playoffs. We are more realistically likely to not win another match this season.

14 games to go but need 3 wins straight off to catch Oxford, so 11 and that’s if Oxford don’t win any of them 3, wow just depressed myself 🤣

When you look at some of our home games, there are 3/4 which look tough tests and if we’re saying that about the home games I would predict we won’t win anymore than a third of our remaining games.

Last 4 games were crucial for me to set ourselves up for the running.

We were unlucky in two drawing with Charlton and Oxford and shite away at Stevenage and Cheltenham.

2 points out of a possible 12, simply not good enough. We’ve given ourselves far too much to do and away from home we are piss poor which has been evident all season.

After those games at Christmas away at Burton and Port Vale we improved, put in spirited performances against Forest and picking up that win at Bristol Rovers and it did give us hope.

Would be an absolute miracle if we reached the play offs now.

However, we win today and my mind may change 😭😅

For me, it really all depends on whether Critchley is going to be - a little belatedly - prepared to put his professional pride to one side and implement the changes we have all been crying out for him to make since the start of the campaign. His stubborness and unwillingness to act has, on occasions, been totally exasperating, and especially so when there appears to be no rhyme or reason behind his thinking, and he seems so loathe to alter his infuriatingly one-track approach when it comes to selection and/or tactical issues.

We are now in, what is commonly referred to as 'last-chance saloon'. We are clinging on to the shirt-tails of those sides looking to secure a place in the play-off chasing-pack, and the welcome three points we managed to secure at Peterborough this weekend may well prove something of an invaluable life-line.

There is a tough time ahead, but, as we have shown on countless occasions in the past, we are experts at coming through adversity, and with the right spirit and motivation, there remains a chance, no matter how remote, we could do so again.

For now, we need to put aside any differences we may have, and come together as one. Fully back the team, and hope against hope, after what has been a rather topsy turvy season, we may yet still mount a serious challenge for that elusive prize ...

Great Post - I’m just a bit unclear on one thing - What specifically are the changes that we have all been crying out for ?

Change of manager I think.
Other alternatives include…

Play 4-4-2
Get an Experienced Number 2
Bring back Owen Dale
Play ** Thompson
Stop Playing CJ
Play 4-2-3-1
Kouassi Must Play
Bring in Carey
Why the fuck are we playing Carey
Connolly is shit
We need some steel from Connolly
Play O’Donnell in nets
Stick with Grimshaw
Marv is a Liabity
Marv is a Man Mountain
Stop this inverted Winger Bollocks
Wow we were brilliant when we played Inverted Wingers
Play 3 Up front
Can we just stick to ** 2 Upfront
Would we not have been better with just 1 upfront

Etc…

I don't recall anyone saying we were brilliant when we played inverted wingers, or would we be better with one up front!

Up until the Charlton game I remained quietly confident we would make the play offs.
That now looks like a big ask although not impossible. I just can see us winning 9 of our remaining games .
For me it's not, solely, down to Critch ( although his brand of footy can be boring) as some players have not played to their potential and others have proved to be not good enough.
I would like to see us be less circumspect and have a a more positive approach to games and give the support something to cheer about.
I reckon we'll finish 8th but would love to be proven wrong.
