2 Million for Bowler gonna cost us 10

SS has made a huge mistake selling Bowler on the cheap. It will end up costing him big money in the long run, it would have made more financial sense keeping him till May and thus retaining our Championship status.
From tonight's showing we are sadly lacking in any creativity, any running at defenders, any shots on goal (on target) outside of the box, all of which Bowler added and now it is a painful boring watch.
Attendances will drop pretty quickly with the expensive ticket pricing and the dire football on show.
It seems SS has dropped the ball with these poor decisions and it's going to cost him more than the paltry amount he received for Bowler.

A lesson learned I hope.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Sadler hasn't shown barely any ambitions or care towards the team and the transfer window, he isn't the hero we all thought he was believe me. We're a non ambitious selling club under him it's proven already with Bowler going, he saw the money and he accepted it, shows that he doesn't truly care about the club to me. Plus no solid plans on the east stand nor training ground. And don't even get me started on Sadler charging us a ridiculous £30 a ticket, I'm sorry but he's not much better than the Oystons. I can see myself getting slated for this but you'll all remember my warnings in the coming seasons I'm telling you now.

Are you a closet nobber or are you just on a wind up? If it wasn’t for Sadler buying us then we wouldn’t have a club to support, Sadler is 10x times better than the Oystons. Just behave yourself. 😂

You're entitled to your opinion, but you know what they say about opinions?

"Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one and sometimes they're full of shit"

DON'T BE A SOMETIMES

I can’t believe the over-reaction every time we lose a match or put in a poor performance. We all need to get behind Appleton and every player in the squad. This was always going to be a difficult season due to the late change of Manager, change of playing style and tactics, new players to integrate and lots of injuries. Success in football relies a lot on confidence and what is going on in player’s minds, we need to boost, not erode, the confidence of all the players in the squad, especially the young players and those on loan. The Manager shouldn’t be looking over his shoulder so early in the season. IMO the attacks on Simon Sadler are totally unacceptable, without him and his huge personal investment and commitment to Blackpool, we would not have a Club to support and certainly not one playing in the Championship. Ask yourself who else wanted to buy Blackpool and if Sadler walked away who else would want to buy Blackpool? BFC was a cash cow under the Oyston’s ownership because of 1 season in the Premier League, but after many years of zero investment, there is definitely now light at the end of the tunnel and that is all down to Simon Sadler and the people around him.

Best owner in my lifetime .

You are talking utter shite.

Bought a complete basket case of a club in 2019.

Sorted out hundreds of issues left behind by a charlatan .

Spent fortunes on the infrastructure .

Got us promoted to the Championship.

Ambitious plans for the training ground and east stand major progress already been made .

The club loses money year in year out and he continues to put his hand in his pocket and make major financial commitments towards the future of the club .

Your post doesn’t actually deserve any response but I couldn’t help myself

I am far from an Oyston supporter, but you could say if Oyston didn't buy the club we wouldn't have a club to support. I do think that some Seasider Matt's point's are valid. However SS is a businessman the club is a business, he is neither an Oil Sheik or a billionair he has to make decisions on what he thinks will keep the business and his family financially secure as long as he is custodian of the club.

Embrace the uncertainty.

When nothing is certain, anything is possible.

(I realise that we all enjoy a good 'wallow' in misery and hopelessness at times, but perhaps a modicum of positive thought might just be more what is needed at the moment....!)

Poveda is potentially better than Bowler IMO, just needs a bit of game time.
Apart from that I disagree with everything else in the O/P.
We did good business in the window

If you have a business you go into it to make money Sadler is neither trying to do that or will from BFC so the comparison with Oyston is nonsense has he employed a family member on 11k a week yet?

Bowler wouldn’t sign for us on a longer contract, so getting something for him now was the only real option.

He certainly could be, took Josh a while to find his feet here and less than a year ago was being called 'not good enough', then 10 months later we're certainties for relegation without him apparently.

Everyone's entitled to express their opinion.
The only comment I wish to add is:
I would like to have seen SS spend some of the Critchley & Josh money on the type of players that we all know MA needs.
The capital developments are great for the future, but it's vital that we stay in the Championship and that means investing in the current team. Some of the current squad clearly are a mixture of not being good enough, tough enough, committed enough, skillful enough or experienced enough.
None of us know why we failed to signed certain players, but I'm hoping we're seriously trying to sign out of contract players - now and not later (they won't be match fit), to get us back on track.
Bring on The Lions

Guys I didn't mean to rant that deeply I was just angry at that performance hope all is forgiven, I have ADHD and Asperger's and I'm a recovering gambling addict since 30th June with bipolar II as well. I love my club just like you all do I am just baffled by this cheap transfer window I don't understand it at all, we're in deep problems on the pitch now in my view and also need a better manager. I just wish Sadler would every other month post on Blackpool's official website and connect with us fans more keep us in the loop and make games more affordable. Look at Rotherham only £24 for example.

Matt

Appreciate your honesty re your issues.

You are fully entitled to a rant . We all are.

Last night wasn’t good enough we all know that.

If you think we have deep problems on the pitch that’s your opinion . I don’t agree with that but so be it .

If you think we need a better manager that’s your view . It’s not mine I think he’s good. We ll have to agree to disagree .

However comparing SS to the Oystons after what they put the club through and what they did to certain fans is way off the mark and deeply disrespectful to SS.

It represents a complete lack of understanding of what SS is about and what he is doing for your club .

Accept though you might have said stuff you don’t mean in the heat of the moment we all do that .

We’ll be living Poveda Loca when he gets properly fit! I’m pretty sure the experiment int he defence will be jettisoned and perhaps Williams is rested for a while. I also think we have to play Connelly as first choice in midfield and hopefully Appleton will recognise that.

I think in answer to your concerns, which might've got lost in the emotion of your post - looking at the sale of Bowler, we signed him on a free and turned him into a £4m plus asset. This is exactly what Sadler said we would be trying to do from day 1. But we didn't get him because we paid Oyston wages though, I think it's important to realise that, and it seems he and his agent expected success, as they didn't sign a 4 year contract as seems to be our new preference as a club. That's a long way from Oystons 1+1 deals!

Plus literally 10 minutes after bowler went, we spent allegedly £750k on Wright, who Leicester and Cheltenham fans think will be a top player. If he becomes that however, we should be ready for the fact he will be sold too though, that's how a club like Blackpool build upwards within their means. You cant sign £2-3m pound players without them expecting £20k a week sadly.

I think he absolutely is the hero we thought he was.

I think sometimes people can’t just accept we’ve lost

Almost every single team put in poor performances now and again

We have no right not to lose

We will lose sometimes and quite heavily

It’s football

They're free agents for a reason, usually because they think they're worth far more than they really are.
But at this late stage and them not being paid surely there has to be a point where realisation hits and they panic sign. Surely a fraction of their wage is better than none

Maybe some of them have made so much out of the game already that it's not worth it to them, maybe they'd rather retire and move onto something else.

Not really Drinkwater has just come off a 100k contract no way he was going to accept under 10k a week we would have offered he doesn't need to.
