And another! Aussies lost the plot!
Proper Test cricketIt’s a five day test and anything can and probably will happen
Agree - dunno if this is the start of the end for Broad and Anderson. Should have been all over them given the conditions this morningI think the new ball could just fly around. Apart from Tongue our seam has been pretty feeble considering the conditions. A bit sad to see really. And it looks like the pitch is going to spin early too.
Could be a combination of lack of match fitness and fatigue, even this early. Two older blokes playing five test in six weeks? Can't see that happening somehow. Come on England, one more wicket tonight.Agree - dunno if this is the start of the end for Broad and Anderson. Should have been all over them given the conditions this morning
TMS has gone right down the tubes. The cult of Aggers lording it up and mouthpieces like Vaughan. Even Tufnell is hard work these days. We were pretty rudderless today. Let's see how we bounce back but we dont need anyone to tell us you can't afford mediocre sessions against the Aussies.Bloody hell, Vaughan is a right bloody moaner on TMS. He’s been waiting to pile into the new methods and he’s giving it big time. Boring dinosaur that he is, we haven’t batted yet FFS!
I though there was plenty in the surface and ground conditions but we didn't generally make the best of it. A slightly lazy performance on the whole. When we did put the right balls in they just missed the edges or we fluffed the chances. Jimmy looks a bit past his prime, that or he's struggling for match fitness. We're going to miss not having a lead spinner too. Plus it looks like Pope has properly twanged his shoulder. Selection at Headingley is going to be tricky. The pace bowling minus Wood and Archer is so easy to put away on a track that offers nothing, Jimmy looks like at the ripe old age of 40 his days as a Test player are numbered.
Agreed, the way the Aussies are going they'll rack up a decent total and have us in batting tomorrow afternoon with Mitchell Starc and co steaming in at 90 mph, tomorrow will go a long way in determining whether we are still in this series or not.Need to try our best to get out of this without losing to keep the series alive I think.
We've dropped 8 catches or stumpings so far. Aussies have missed 2.That Ollie pope early two handed drop catch was very important
Starc is playing instead of Boland mateAussies well ahead in this test and unless we get rid of their last wickets for less than 100 runs we're going to struggle.
Lords much better for the Aussie bowlers. Boland to have a field day.
Yeah just noticed that actually, missed yesterday as was in meetings all day. Really peculiar on this wicket?Starc is playing instead of Boland mate
Correct. That's a good score in these conditions, probably 150 more than they should have got.
Big innings for Crawley, he is good on good pitches but very weak when it favours the bowlers.Correct.
And if all the England bowlers had've bowled with the same control as Jimmy, you'd have been spot on with about 270 all out.
Despite Jimmy being far from his best, he didn't bowl a succession of balls that were just put there to be smacked to the boundary.
Also our weak pace doesn't help. Worried we will see the problem their extra 5mph plus bringsCorrect.

Tongue bowled at a half-decent lick...Our Bowling attack is very pedestrian 78-82mph for the most part . I see Starc is getting the ball to move more than we did & at 85+Mph
You don't know a good score until both sides have batted on it is always a truism in cricket, and the way we've started maybe it's not that insurmountable a total. That's a good score in these conditions, probably 150 more than they should have got.
Yep, Pope bats like Ian Bell with a bit of Dom Thompson thrown in.Ollie Pope is all over the place here. Needs to calm down quickly.
