A question for the Critchley supporters.

So for 30 years plus under the Oystons you thought it was better than this season when we were playing the likes of Halifax and York, while aspiring to be Port Vale because they were in what is now the Championship, while playing in a ground with a 4,800 capacity.

It's either wilful ignorance or memory loss, because believe me, it was a lot worse than now, yet you're claiming otherwise.
No expectations then. This is nothing to do with where we have come from; this is all about a manager clearly under-performing with the players he has.

Of course there's a context.

We're recovering from a disastrous season which ripped the heart out of the club. Some were predicting we'd be relegated again, don't forget. As it is, the season isn't over despite what you claim. You're going to look a bit foolish if we go to Wembley twice.

We’d already recovered in a short time under Dobbie. Critchley has taken us backwards with his negative selections and inactivity with substitutions and in game management in a league where top 6 should have been a walk in the park for these players. He can’t hide behind his predecessors failures forever.

The shit show last season was Appleton/McCarthy/Dobbie.

Critchley actually got us PROMOTED out of Div 1 and KEPT us in the Championship.

I agree performances as opposed to results like Lincoln Wycombe Cambridge Burton & Port Vale are TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

However, I think that some of our fans are a bit deluded thinking we are a bigger club than the likes of Derby or Portsmouth.

Our gates our small and we have not got the money to spend like Oxford have.
I personally think Critchley will eventually stop these unacceptable results occurring but it doesn't make me a "happy clapper".

I don't think there is a manager that would WANT to come to Blackpool that risks rocking the boat for but:

If Simon Sadler can talk Steven Gerrard or Jurgan Klopp to take the job for me it would be: CRITCHLEY OUT!!!

Until then I'll stick with it for the time being as we are actually in the TOP half of the league and have been most of the season!!!

I respect the O/P's perspective I hope he'll respect mine, despite our opinions clashing.

Both of us and all other True Poolsters "Love The Club" after all and we stood together as "Brothers" to get OUR Club Back!!

thatz exactgly how i would have put it. fifty four years following Blackpool. ITS just too late to start sacking anyone. CODHEADS have tryed three head coaches in ONE season. its not the answer. HE stays for the rest of 23/24 . And THEN have another look at it

So who allowed the players to 'put their towels on their sunbeds? Our esteemed coach?
I take it you're a Critchley disciple and happy with him and league1 status.
It happens at every club even the great sides where players switch off when there's nothing to play for .

I get behind whoever is managing us and take no notice of a few moaners on a no mark football forum.
It's what happens in BR that counts and the fans are still 💯 behind Critchley.

An element of delusion there! Not a single one of my large group of friends / supporters is happy with performances and results, especially away from home, and inparticular with Critchley!

Snap I know 4 other ST holders who are close friends who would sooner see Critchley outed.
They just don’t think we’re going anywhere soon under him.

So make it known in the ground then or it just behind a keyboard the Critch haters can protest.

You’re obviously happy with awful performances like Northampton, Burton, Cambridge etc before Christmas.
You’re obviously happy with poor performances like yesterday and Port Vale after Christmas.
You’re obviously happy with the players brought in, released and loaned out during the transfer window.
You’re even obviously happy with a bit of fist pumping by the guy who left but pretends to love the badge.
BUT what will you class as failure from the manager this season?
Maybe not gaining automatic promotion if you think we should have walked the league with the squad we have?
Maybe not getting in the playoffs?
Or you’re just happy to stay in this division after the sh1t show last season?
Under what circumstances would you be happy to see Critchley go?
Fair enough you have your day mate but a zillion posts on moaning at critch gets us nowhere. Like him or not he is here till at least Christmas so as crap as you n others think it is, nothings gonna change for some time IMHO.
So we just need to get on with supporting the lads on the pitch n hope our support helps us to climb into the play offs.

I've been open minded about Critchley but you've got to give him until the end of the season. I want to see improvements in performance and evidence of him reflecting and refining how we play. Even if we don't make the play offs you can take that momentum into next season. His current rinse and repeat should require serious consideration on his future by those above him if that's where we are at by the end of the season

Just to add further context, whilst some predicted a double relegation, an overwhelming majority predicted promotion, be it automatic or via the playoffs.

There is unrest, which you're obviously blind to. It will gather pace if home results fall off and away results continue to be atrocious.
It's his incompetence I hate not the individual.
Critchley is not without fault but to call him incompetent is disrespectful, you angry old fart.

Like others have said, we set up to not lose (often failing) and when games mean nothing such as Forest and the shackles come off we see what the team is capable of. Attacking flair, good football and it is frustrating. If Critchley wanted to, he could change his philosophy in an instant. Bring back the Ole football not stick your boring crab football in the bin! bloody go for it and stop pissing about.

Why do critchley love in types go on about getting promoted..?he’s been sacked twice since then ……. Let’s get Holloway back he got us promoted to the prem once…..🤣

Fans should stick together and stop abusing each other.
Football is about opinions. Have yours - respect someone else's.
Debate it robustly for sure, but we all want the same thing.
Would help if Critch gave fans an update from time to time - unless I've missed them.

Was just looking at threads about Critchley and found this one - a lot of vitriol here - OK he still hasn't achieved anything and has had his flaws this season but I wonder if some of the most outspoken on here have reassessed their opinions over the last month?

I’ll repeat. I didn’t want him back, but as he was reinstated gave him the benefit of the doubt & wanted to be proved wrong. I expected a better start to the season knowing he had worked with many of our players previously but that didn’t happen. I hate the 3 Centre backs & believe an extra midfielder would make us a more competitive unit. This system has however worked on occasions so perhaps it’s a red herring. My biggest criticism is the inability to completely change thing’s to combat the bus parking teams, if you are losing you try something different & Critchley hasn’t done that. With the shackles off we saw on Saturday what a difference it made & had we adopted this approach in the games against the poorer sides which we dropped points to I believe we would be comfortable in the playoffs. That’s all on the manager, he will be here next season regardless so let’s hope he has learnt something we could all see from a mile off. He’s not been terrible otherwise we’d be in the bottom half or worse as getting out of this league has proved hard for bigger teams than us. I do wonder though have these managers got any brains or is it bottle & risk aversion. If other results nobble us I sincerely hope he changes his policy next season.

Performances have been sterile and terrible and inflexible in the large part the whole season. He has cost us a chance of promotion this year barring a miracle. Agree he gets another chance to double down on Critchball next season, lucky us 🥱

The Barnsley game was very informative. The first 60 minutes which we won 3-0,knowing we had to win, showed what we could have achieved if we had started each game with that really positive attitude .The last 30 minutes plus illustrated what happens when the attitude was a negative approach of just holding on negatively to what we have, oh so characteristic of our managers default approach all season, which of course we lost 2-0.

That latter approach has all too often infected our performances in terms of both results and entertainment. We as a club and Critchley as our manager surely need to learn from that quickly unless we are to rinse and repeat next season.

Can’t argue with any of that 👍
