He probably wouldn’t be my pick if I could pick ANY past player, but GTF would offer this team so many extra dimensions, Creativity, linking the midfield and attack, running at and committing defenders, weighed in with his share of goals and also a decent physical presence up top. Could play anywhere on the front 3 as well.

Charlie Adam. Plonk him in the QB role and let him hit 50 yard passes to CJ to chase, or for our right footer on the left to have to come back inside all the time.

Can you imagine CJ trying to control those 50 yard passes? Would be like watching It's a Knockout. Stuart Hall on comms. Just don't let him anywhere near the penthouse.
