All these people

Is there any actual hard evidence that it's 6500 who have been killed because of the construction of stadiums of this World Cup? Think you'll find that the figure is less than 100 DIRECTLY linked to it. So to me, it seems that if some-one died of a heart attack whilst having something to eat it would be classed as one of those 6500 so there's a total manipulation of the figures and the media have jumped on it. That's not to say, there hasn't been serious problems with regards to human rights etc and of course even less than 100 is too many.
Just wondering what ‘actual hard evidence’ you have to believe that ‘the figure is less than 100 DIRECTLY linked to it’

I stand corrected but I don’t recall 6,500 migrant workers being killed in any other World Cup that’s been staged?
Even this week we had one worker killed in the Saudi Arabia camp who fell to his death.
Just Shocking.
Link this with the human rights element and sadly this World Cup will be remembered for all the wrong reasons.
Neither do i and they haven't in this World Cup either

The football has been brilliant.

I won’t be holidaying in Qatar any time soon.

There’s just a lack of shared values, that’s not a criticism of them but does mean it’s somewhere I would avoid visiting.

I don’t have much time for religion so would choose not to visit countries where it is still a big feature of daily life.

We were joined by some gay friends on our last holiday and I don’t think they would be welcome.

It’s a bit too hot for me.

I find other countries culture and history more interesting so would rather visit those places.

I love a drink when I’m away and would prefer not to be confined to certain areas, if possible.

I prefer my Mrs to be free to wear what she wants.

That’s a few reasons off the top of my head.

Fair enough but you kinda get used to the call for prayer and the heat

I've travelled all over the Middle East and North Africa and quite enjoy the cultural difference

Some of the hotels and restaurants are on another level to anything you would get in Europe

Each to their own I suppose but maybe more people should embrace different cultures

Its a fantastic World Cup and its great to see a Muslim Arab country get to the semi final

It's what it's all about spreading the game all over the World 🌎

This sort of thread demonstrates exactly why states like Saudi and Qatar invest in football. Because it comes with a whole army of fans who will vehemently defend them despite any evidence presented.

Sports washing, ladies and gentlemen.
