Oystons attempts to seek damages from the CAR is finally at an end after 4.5 years

Should cost the Appellant a fair bit 😃

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF THE UNITED KINGDOM
22 November 2023
Before:
Lord Briggs
Lord Sales
Lady Rose
Denaxe Ltd (formerly Blackpool Football Club Ltd) (Appellant) v Cooper and
another (Respondents)
UKSC 2023/0108
AFTER CONSIDERATION of the application filed on behalf of the Appellant seeking
permission to appeal the order made by the Court of Appeal on 5 July 2023 and of the
notice of objection filed by the Respondents
THE COURT ORDERED that
1) Permission to appeal be REFUSED because:
(i) Ground 1 was not raised in the Court of Appeal and does not
raise an arguable point of law;
(ii) Ground 2 raises no arguable point of law;
(iii) Ground 3 raises no point of law of general public importance.
2) The Appellant pay the Respondents’ costs, the amount of those costs to be
assessed if not agreed.

The claim was lost a fair while ago
This is the end of the line appeal wise
Four years of costs to be paid - failed trial and failed appeals to both Court of Appeal and Supreme Court
Not got a handle on amount but you can imagine
Very pleased for Paul and his team
They did an impressive job in very trying circumstances and shouldn’t have had to put up with what followed
Like others involved ( inc the team at Clifford Chance ) he retains an interest in BFC
Messaged me to congratulate us on Sat’s result 🍊👌

Must be well into the mid six figures, or Burnleymoney as it's known.

I had a pulmonary embolism when I was 23 (1983) and knew nothing about it until I woke in the RPH having rat poison pumped into me ☠🙄

Scary shit and I have managed to get to 63.

There's sour grapes & sour grapes but this lot must have a vineyard full of them. 🍇🍇🍇🙄😂

It amazes me that they have chosen so often to go to court. They must have lost so many major cases over the years, their losses must be huge.

His refusal to accept reality is trump like. He just won't conclude that he is wrong on an issue or that's his actions make him loathed by normal people. I'd fully expect he has the same personality disorders as trump.

Can't see Owen agreeing the costs so can see a Taxing Master getting involved
He won’t have a lot of say in it tbh - he’s had plenty of Court days and feels it’s like sweet shop money - the bill will be big

Be good to know the total Oyston losses x(estimates will do) from the day I spent at the Rolks Building - Day 1, until today

That ought to be in the public domain for a host of reasons

Btw 12Angry men - my brother borrowed my left foot to stroke the winner 3-2 against B/oool Walkibg team today - wished I had seen it at Kirkham

Not sure
Hard to unravel the leases they granted themselves of the penthouse and offices I imagine
Is this legal, drawing unrealistic leases, have the clubs legals made a major major balls up regarding this ?
Why delete the last one, have the club got a moderator on board. I'm asking a question to a legal expert in property not a half wit mod.

Everyone has to have a purpose in life and O's remaining one (and lifetime one) seems to be charitable donations to the legal profession for lost causes. He perhaps got a taste for it due to his brief appearance in ITV's Crown Court in the 1970s. Unfortunately, he didn't manage the calibre and quality of Perry Mason and redundancies in the legal profession are expected with his eventual demise

If Oyston couldn't beat my mate 'Steed' who had no legal defence, the odds are always stacked against him.

Obviously others were affected and paid out which still remains an injustice.
