If getting it doesn't give immunity would a vaccine work? Serious question.
 
Stevo apparently this type of virus doesn’t leave you with much long term immunity, I read today, so while they don’t know yet if you can catch it twice there is a good chance you will be able to. Anecdotally at least one person I have read about claims to have had it twice already.
It has already mutated once apparently as there are two strains out there now. Does that mean you need two separate vaccines, anyone know?

Beagle, I only post stuff on here I know. I would think it wouldn't, but that is an opinion, I'm not an immunologist.
Glassful, if a vaccine did work, it would depend whether the vaccine was against the bit the two strains had in common, in which case, yes. If the different bit, no.
 
TMoss I wasn't questioning anything you say but wondered if anybody knows because if getting it doesn't give immunity then we are screwed are we not?

And you are right, that's their gamble, I hope it comes off.

Dave, any joking aside mate, if you need any help, shopping etc and don’t have family local to do it just contact me on here and grocery supplies will be delivered to (the outside of) your door 👍

Like it or not Ive ripped the fuck out of Blood and way many others on here over the years, I'm not going start blowing smoke up peoples backsides, never met Blood, but been posting on AVFTT for about 9 years now, probably had over 100 usernames in that time, as I'm not not liked and perceived worse than Owen Oyston running around naked, in nothing but his cowboy hat. I badly crossed a line with One certain poster on here, I realised that myself and met him in person to try to apologise, Yet, In all my time reading this forum, and massively taken the piss out of Blood, never once did I doubt he was good man, he was just one of the big guns to go after on the forum. Certain others really deserved what they got however, and if I ever meet that ** window cleaner that I payed for his holidays in Orlando, the drone I chipped in for, the i-phone, rounds of drinks at the cricket club, his bullshit legal counsel that I was part funding, Ive got a very long memory, I will find him eventually, hope somebody taught him a lesson that hasnt been revealed on here, if it wasnt for him and his lies, I would not have had to apologise to TAM.

At the moment we are fine, just got my regular ailments to deal with. 😉
We are going indoor bowling at Staining today.
They had a doctor on BBCRadioLancs this am fielding questions from the public. I phoned in and asked if it was O.K. to go. He said that it was OK but take the usual precautions like washing hands etc. He didn't say 'Don't mix with old people.' so I think we are OK.😀
 
Please can a line be drawn now, and we get back onto the original topic of this thread?
Supportive/decisive threads on other posters and their mates ruined the old board, and alienates many.

This thread was about what's happening in the world at the moment, not who's an ar@e or not.

My next door but one neighbour and her hubby are in there mid 70s (originally from Barbados) and we take homemade soup round to them a couple of times a week and make sure they are ok......I have to laugh because they just cant help themselves and next day she is at our door with jerk chicken and rice or some other Caribbean treat...it's just in there culture to return a good gesture...we have a laugh about it.
