I’d welcome him back with his snipers rifle, to rid some unwanted undesirables from parts of the complex.

I am guessing the following….

SS cannot have anything to do with Valeri due to the money laundering conviction - however spurious it maybe.

It’s the sort of thing that keeps hedge fund owners up at night, and if he seen as an associate of SS it could have an enormous implication to SS’s business.

Anyway, it’s not based on fact - it’s just just based on knowing how hedge funds are seen in the financial markets and work in reality.

Spot on, the same reason VB couldn't take the club.

Still no reason not to have a visit though.

This was my guess too.

I have many fond feelings for Mr Belekon and carried a Latvian flag at our demonstrations - it appears on many photos from that time - the other flag was my next-door neighbour's. 😁 I'll never forget how he turned on the Stains and thrashed them - let's face it, we couldn't have defeated them on our own. He has our gratitude and he's smart enough to recognise that.

From what I know SS has no interest in anyone else investing in BFC.

That may change, but I was told he wants to do it.

I also have been told VB was willing to invest.

Would SS be willing or able to accept a donation - or whatever the exact term is - from Uncle Val in lieu of the monies he previously earned from the club ?

Maybe Uncle Val will post on here asking how it's possible ?

I have no idea, but accepting a donation tends to see you guilty by association.

I’m not sure paying £20 more for a season ticket will cut it... even if he does do it anonymously via a media announcement 👍

I wouldn't know whether Sadler would be willing to deal with Uncle Val or whether Val wanted to invest in or donate to BFC but yes a donation wouldn't be accepted from somebody if that somebody wasn't deemed to be fit and proper.

Rather than ask my first question I should have just said, not for me to tell Uncle Val to do with his money but it doesn't sit right with me that although his intentions may have differed from the Oystons he basically took as much as they did from the club.

My second question was a just a light hearted quip re your kind offer to pay more than the going rate for your season ticket and apologies if it didn't come across as that.

I think we've done better with SS as owner and as said above probably doesn't want outside investment, but the OP wasn't about that anyway.

I thought that the judgement was made in such a way that the money could not come from the club but had to come from the Oystons hence their need to sell up.
If that is the case then surely he didn’t take a penny from the club and because they had to sell up to pay him it was win win all round.
As previously suggested it is unlikely that SS could have any partnership with him. We also need to take into account that the EFL consider him to be “not fit and proper”. We have no idea whether he has ever offered any investment or not

I appreciate that Uncle Val has no obligation to make any contribution to the club but whichever way we choose to look at it - and I'm struggling to understand why you believe that "he didn't take a penny from the club" and that it was a "win win all round - he made a significant financial gain from his investment in the club and as I've already said despite the fact he has no obligation to contribute to BFC, it does not sit well with me that he went riding of in to the sunset with millions after his victory over OO in the courts.

I agree that it is unlikely that SS would/could have any partnership with Uncle Val.

I agree that we have no idea whether Uncle Val has ever offered any investment or not and I never suggested otherwise.

I have huge respect for uncle Val and I will never forget what he did for our club
* His investment got us to the Championship
* His investment helped deliver the miracle of promotion to the EPL
* And perhaps most significant of all, his committment (in terms of finance, time and emotion) to the cause played a huge part in getting the Os out.
I agree with those above that said a direct investment would be difficult. But there are other ways. An inflated sponsorship deal for example?

Do we know how much he's actually been paid?
I'd hazard a guess that the debt hasn't been cleared in full.
Been paid nowhere near the full amount.

I scoffed at people saying things like 27K a month in interest.

Make no mistake OO has made a huge profit out of BFC. VB has done little more than break even.

I’d have to go back and check the figures but I think VB probably did more than break even. Although I suspect he probably didn’t recover everything that he could have done.

I know we have moved on, but it would be great to welcome him back as a guest.

I was in court when he gave his testimony. You could here the passion in his voice when talking about the club. He is just as much a fan as you or I.
Unfortunately not he did us a massive favour but being just as much a fan as you or I is probably exaggerating, I really can’t imagine him being as nervous as us in the days leading up to the final, then having to go through those 90+ minutes, I bet he was happy but not in dreamland and ecstatic

Maybe he could make a contribution to Blackpool, the community. After all the fans are who suffered are part of that community.
He wouldn’t have to go via SS or club route to do that.
Maybe he has 🤔 anyone with inside info on what he may have given back ?
