Applegone Sacked

I think the new coach will be in the Critchley mould again.
People asking for an experienced manager but that brings no guarantees. Appleton and Grayson were experienced, didn't work out.
I want an enthusiastic manager with good ideas that is a natural communicator who can get everyone on board. If he's experienced aswell that's not a problem but I have a feeling he won't be.
Would be very, very brave to hire someone inexperienced at this point.

Fortune favours the brave!!
Can't think of an old hand that would fancy the challenge for the sort of money we offer and I don't think we will be buying anyone out of their contract with a current employer, but I could be wrong.

Thank God!
it does sound like there’s someone coming. Might be a case of Debbie for Saturday or something
Debbie does Bloomfield??

It's a results business and his simply were not good enough, and there was no visible evidence that he knew how to improve. Forget the Preston rubbish, or leaving before, it was about points.

Good luck to the fella, someone lower down will employ him, if he can be bothered.

Whoever we bring in now, I hope the club has learned its lesson in that you never go back to your ex! 2/3 managers appointed since Sadler has taken over have been here before, with both being utter shambles!

Couldn't believe it when I saw the news. Right thing to do. It'll be interesting to see who the club have lined up this time around and hopefully it'll be a positive appointment. UTMP!

I have a certain amount of sympathy for him. He was the wrong choice to begin with and didn't have an easy ride due to fan bias and obviously the number of injuries. That said he didn't help himself, he was in some respects his own worst enemy, which was highlighted in the Watford game when he had two goalscorers sitting on their backsides but didn't bring them on until the game was lost. It was in some respects the straw that broke the Camels back with me.

I noted his inaction on the sideline some weeks ago and commented on it on here, and have seen someone else saying similar about his stature and seemingly aloofness from the players during the game and that did worry me but it confirmed what I had seen and said.

Hopefully the players will respond to the crowd on Saturday, who I expect to be noisy again. and whoever is in charge of the team will choose the correct players for the correct positions. I look forward to seeing who our new man/woman? will be and wish the departing duo all the best for their futures.

Come On You Pool.

Yep he should have done better and not changing the midfield on Saturday was the nail in the coffin
I was still giving him a chance until Saturday but his team selection , lack of substitutes at the right time and saying the performance was " fine" made me v angry.

The power of the podcast! 😂

If any of the board watched the podcast they will have seen Appleton has lost the fans.

But for me, the most interesting point on the podcast was by TAM that he thought Appleton was deliberately trying to get sacked for his actions

or rather inactions in the last match. Appleton wanted out, just wanted compensation before he jumped.

It was a good conspiracy but we’ll never know

Yep, very strange selection when he had good options on the bench, I didn't get it

The big question is why now?

Just signed Rogers who said the manager was a big factor in joining

Why not Monday?

Why not before the window opened?

Can only hope the answer to these questions is that we’ve got a suitable replacement lined up.
These were exactly my first thoughts, have we been checking out a replacement who can jump into the seat? I bloody well hope so, if not why wait until just before what is now one of the most important games of the season?

I'm not sorry to see him go, but if we don't have a replacement lined up the timing is shocking!

Never have I witnessed a manager so detached and alienated from the fans and not suited to BFC and I include Gary Megson in that list. His sacking was as inevitable as its going to be Thursday tomorrow, baffled me as to the thought process behind Appletons appointment in the first place.
