Or relegationsNot really, one play off final, no promotions.

Well fair enough, but as far as CVs go...Or relegations
Yeah and he's rightI forgot about that gem of inspirational management.
"Coming up against good teams, we've got to remember who we are a little bit, we're not going to dominate every game of football that we play. We're coming up against top sides who are going to have spells in games, whether that's a 20 minute spell or 45 or we're under the pump for 70 minutes and have a good 20 minute spell and win the game, that's just part and parcel of playing at this level'
Charlton fans aren't very happy about the appointment.
The Charlton fans aren't exactly jumping for joy...We’re such a weird set of fans aren’t we. If you go on Charlton’s Twitter, it’s just our fans hammering him. He had an awful season with us, and he did act like a bit of a **, but just leave them to it. It’s obsessive.
Give him loads of some shit when we play them and that’s enough. It’s not always all about us.
Not entirely but he was a major factor. Beesley as a winger will haunt me!Hope he isn't booed when he comes back to Bloomfield. Wasn't his fault.
Good manager who will do well if backed properly by their board
Never stood a chance with us
Dave Whelan’s Love Child!!It’s the only time he smiles….
“Yeah, thanks for asking, I‘ve always been a ManYoo fan so to play for them (twice) was a dream come true.
Sir Alex has been such an inspiration, matching his ‘chewing a wasp’ expression has been an integral part of my coaching career.
And as a coach I'll regularly rant manically at a player, "That's f***ing rubbish, Eric Harrison wouldn't stand for that and neither will I". That always gets a reaction, occasionally a positive one.
Training alongside all those great players, Becks, Eric, Brucie, Giggsy….great memories, great stories, let me tell you about the time……”
I think the big difference is that Critchley gets on and does the job with a positive attitude and a spring in his step…. He talks things up and backs himself…Yeah and he's right
We didn't dominate many games under Critchley in the Championship either
At least at Charlton he won't have cry baby fans not giving him a chance because he once played for a rival

Except he was full of shit, we didn't win for two months and he had no idea what to do about it except blame everything else.Yeah and he's right

Yep, his injuries were no worse than under Critchley, but he knew what he was doing and shuffled as needed. To be fair, I was a voice that said we needed to stick with him and that the injuries we had made the job hard and that he needed backing.. However, I'd had enough by the time I'd watched enough games with him stood passively, along with all the negative reasons and excuses for loses. As much as Holloway made some ordinary players feel like they could be world beaters and brought belief and swagger as well as getting the fans on board, Appleton was at the opposite end of that spectrum.
he let the injuries become an excuse for poor perfromance from him and the other players, but by them he'd convinced them that they weren't good enough at that level anyway.Yep, his injuries were no worse than under Critchley, but he knew what he was doing and shuffled as needed.
I found myself watching the video posted by the club of all our goals from last season. Those first few months we played some good stuff and I remember feeling after the Sheffield United game that I’d seen enough to know that we’d actually made a good appointment. To be fair to Appleton the 3-3 draws away at Burnley and especially Sheff utd last season were excellent away days. We deserved better both them games.
Pretty much how I saw it - that Shef.Utd away game was brilliant, even though was gutted we drew at the last kick. At that point, I thought we'd come good for the season.I found myself watching the video posted by the club of all our goals from last season. Some couldn’t wait to turn on him as was made evident at Wigan away and once that happened there was no coming back for him. Wasn’t helped by his incredibly dull personality and his eagerness to talk us down at every opportunity, mind.
Was hindered even further by a shambolic summer recruitment job.
…and pull some hammies”1st message to their squad.
"Right you lot, well all know you overachieved in the past, we need to remember who we are.
Now, let's go and get some red cards"
Make that two of us. What a day in store, Ashley’s booze cruise, giving Applehead pelters and three points in the bag ! Perfect dayI’ve never booed a player or a manager in my life and don’t believe in doing so. People who do boo actually do my head in. But if I’m at the Charlton game, I’ll be booing that useless, glum looking, ill-informed ** all game.

Is that northern premier League division 1 West?Agree . Capable at League 1 level

He got us to score 4 against the nobbers and 3 away at the Dingles as well as masterminding an away win at QPR for the first time in donkeys yearsExcept he was full of shit, we didn't win for two months and he had no idea what to do about it except blame everything else.
Everyone gave him a chance, certainly more than Critchley this time, but we were 23rd when he was sacked. It was nothing to do with playing for PKE either and everything to do with his previous record and ** off from us after a month.
How? We weren't exactly turning a corner under him and were second from bottom? He got us to score 4 against the nobbers and 3 away at the Dingles as well as masterminding an away win at QPR for the first time in donkeys years
If he had of stayed we would have avoided relegation imo
Critchley did a number on him in the final that's for sure."Coming up against good managers, I've got to remember who I am a little bit..."
To be fair I’m not sure whether we would’ve stayed up had we kept him but I definitely believe we would’ve fared far better than we did under McCarthy. How? We weren't exactly turning a corner under him and were second from bottom?
Well yeah, I agree, he should have gone before Christmas and most people welcomed the MM appointment, which goes to show what most people know.To be fair I’m not sure whether we would’ve stayed up had we kept him but I definitely believe we would’ve fared far better than we did under McCarthy.
The board secured his long term-target (Rogers), Bowler, and Trybull. Under Appleton I think those players would’ve made a real difference. Under McCarthy they were criminally mismanaged.
To bring those players in only to sack him after the next game at Watford made no sense then and still doesn’t now, particularly when you consider who his replacement was.
Because he has done pretty well outside the Championship. Got Oxford promoted from L2 and finished 8th in L1 the followingHow on earth does he get appointments, do they not check out his record?
His teams have been relegated, its just he's been sacked before the end of the season.Or relegations
We had players back from injury and more options that he could have usedHow? We weren't exactly turning a corner under him and were second from bottom?
That must be the first time Appleton and masterminded have ever been used in the same sentence !!He got us to score 4 against the nobbers and 3 away at the Dingles as well as masterminding an away win at QPR for the first time in donkeys years
If he had of stayed we would have avoided relegation imo
We were lucky as fuck to get anything out of either gene though Phil. The knobbers result flattered usHe got us to score 4 against the nobbers and 3 away at the Dingles as well as masterminding an away win at QPR for the first time in donkeys years

MM was a shocking appointment, doesn't mean we should have stuck with Appleton though. We had players back from injury and more options that he could have used
We went backwards under McCarthy and his long ball hoof
ExactlyHis teams have been relegated, it’s just he's been sacked before the end of the season.
You’re either on the windup or need to book an appointment pronto. He got us to score 4 against the nobbers and 3 away at the Dingles as well as masterminding an away win at QPR for the first time in donkeys years
