Appleton could end up being our best manager for decades

He's already turned several good players into ramshackle versions of their previous selves. He gets a bunch of established championship players who still can't deliver to his expectations, so at the next window he's doing the same. I think the four or five games where we have performed well have been despite Appleton rather than because of him.

Seriously who’s going to come here in January that can get us out of this mess?
Every team in the football league will be looking to strengthen for both promotion and relegation run ins.
We couldn’t even tempt two league one players in the summer so good luck with that one.

How is he overhyped? Some fella was boo'ing him when he arrived for photos on his first day back in the summer haha
 
I remember his first interview the day he was announced. He was asked about the current squad, his response was that "this season they have a chance to prove they are championship quality players, one season means nothing". I remember thinking, ehhh, this may be true but what a message to give to your players on your first day that their achievements last year were just a blip and they've proved nothing.

Couple that with the fact that one season with Lincoln with some excellent loan players aside, he's a mid-tier league one manager and I feared from the start. Not sure where you're getting the positivity from but can I get a dose?.
 
This site is like a street of aligators, they want him out at any cost. Your right the Board will back him, they have to and he'll keep us up.

There have been several people saying he is a great coach, I've yet to see any evidence. That's pretty much the definition of overhyped, is it not?

I don’t believe you. There’s no way anyone actually believes this. The fellas clearly on a windup though. He got me with the Serie B > Conference thing. He’s caught plenty today too.

West Brom, Leicester, Sadler, to name a few. I think it's a load of tripe, he was gifted a route into coaching because of a bad injury. He shouldn't be anywhere near a top job in the Championship nothing in his career has deserved him this chance.

Think you’ve hit the nail on the head, the only realistic option would be somebody with a bit of profile on a short term contract. Maybe not the best coach to develop the team, but that can attract a couple of Keogh type fighters in January. Spend the second half of the season auditing and reassessing the succession strategy.
