Apter and youth policy

As it stands it looks like Critchley will be rotating players a lot and the Derby game suggested players were adapting to the Critchley style even if they may not be first choices. So I think most players will have a chance to impress.

Critchley always has liked to chop and change. It’s his way of making sure the entire squad are on their toes, know exactly what is expected of them at any given time and ensures if tactical changes are necessary the squad is match fit enough for wholesale changes without detriment. It’s very clever and astute squad management and given the new injury time rule this season likely equates to an extra 5/6 games of football - keeping players both rested and sharp whilst also making sure we’re ready for any injuries or suspensions which come our way is actually brilliant.
In the promotion season we had more CB pairings than any other team in the league… yet our GK got golden glove and we had (i think) the second tightest defence in the league. Chopping and changing if managed right and if the squad are coached well can work perfectly.

bit like your myth that the digital ticket system is working perfectly eh!
Working fine if you can follow simple instructions 😉 such as putting the phone in the slot with the barcode the right way round, and going to the right gate, both 'issues' reported on here.

tell that to Born in the Fifties for whom nothing worked and had to go to the ticket office I believe. 😉 Fact is there were problems, even if it's just a case of the stewards not knowing what to do. People weren't makinf these problems up you know. Let's hope things run smoother next tuesday. The club issued a statement saying it would make access to the ground easier and quicker. It didn't no matter how much you try to defend it.

Blackpool and the Fylde has always had a huge pool of football talent, (all those junior clubs and loads of nice flat pitches) Traditionally that pool has been successfully farmed by the big local city clubs. Think Hills, Milligan, Gavin McCann etc, to name just a few ex YM lads. When my lad was playing in a decent team for YM way back when, every year a good player was poached and disappeared to some academy. Hopefully that is now beginning to change, and when we have a new, dedicated academy training facility that can be accelerated. It needs to happen, and under Simon Sadler I think it will.
I would say thats minute compared to most towns and cities across the country. Blackpool has never been a hot bed producing professional footballers. I think towns like Middlesborough produce more players per head than anywhere else in the UK. South East London has probably taken over more recently.

Worked fine and was quicker for me. Once people get used to it and learn it will be quicker for everyone. Environmental benefits too. And decreased cost for the club in the long run. Not to mention it’s a better way of tracking / stopping fraudulent activity (See PNE fans for more details 😂)

Plenty of facilities, loads of clubs, loads of scouts and coaches and a very very competitive youth, amateur and non-league system in London contribute to that - and it’s that over a period of 20/30 years that pays dividends.
The work the trust and SS alongside the council building better facilities will hopefully have a knock on locally but it likely won’t be apparent this decade.

I'm not sure how you can say the digital system is faster than the card. With either they both need to be read by the scanner which I'd imagine takes exactly the same time. In fact not having to insert the card into the slot would I suggest make it faster than having to insert a phone into it. Anyway, let's see how things go for the next few games. Any issues will I'm sure get mentioned on here.

I agree, we're starting from scratch and it will take time.

The default position is to just show the ))) on your digital card to the reader.
If that doesn't work the second option is to access the bar code (which is hidden) and insert into the reader.
That's my understanding.
