No idea how I missed that. Hoping it’s POTG tbh but at at a tenner don’t suppose it matters too much.

Thanks.

I missed the announcement too but have just bought ours. New ground for us 👍

Will be disappointed if the XI doesn’t mostly consist of dev squad and fringe first teamers.

Literally no point in playing any important players here.
Sometimes it's more important to build some momentum and confidence than worry about players remaining fresh. Depending on what happens on Saturday this could be such an occasion.

I'm actually more interested in how our opponents will approach the game. I mean, do you think they'll just put out a load of reserves and U-18s, or are people thinking we might just get to see the 'wheel' Barrow? ...
I get you probably just wanted to make the joke, but they won't play any U-18s because they scrapped their academy. They have just started a B team though and will probably give most of them a run out. They are in Lancashire's Senior Cup Final tomorrow night (from last season) and I imagine the team will be similar for both.

Thanks for the background info on the mighty Barrow. Particularly impressed with how you've managed to tease out certain key details. Also, good 'spot' on your part with regard to my seeing - and then 'grasping'- the opportunity to manufacture a witticism out of our prospective opponents' club name. Only took me a couple of weeks to think that one up ...

I played for St Anne’s Cricket Club (about 60 years ago) and remember hoe difficult it was in those days getting to Furness and Netherfield. The traffic to the Lake District on Saturdays in Summer meant that we had to leave at about 9am in order to be sure of a prompt start. A midweek evening game in September should be a tad less stressful.
