I hadn't heard of two of them, to be honest.I haven't heard of 3 of the candidates....
A bit of stone skimming every 4 years doesn't compare with transforming cricket.Have to admit I quite like Eve Muirhead but enough about that, yep Stokes for me, for transforming the face of English cricket.
The women football team will win team compWell Beth Mead is 1/20 to win it with the bookies….!
my post about Eve had nothing to do with stone skimming. Just wish I was called Adam because I'd love to bite that apple.A bit of stone skimming every 4 years doesn't compare with transforming cricket.
20’s!!!my post about Eve had nothing to do with stone skimming. Just wish I was called Adam because I'd love to bite that apple.
Gadirova, Mead, Muirhead, Stokes, O'Sullivan, Wightman
For me
1. Stokes
2. O'Sullivan
3. Mead
Because he doesn't play a sport? It's an absolute bore fest that's had it's day. As someone said, how is Matt Fitzpatrick not on the list ?
How Matt Fitzpatrick doesn't make the list after US Open win is beyond me.
The BBC gave me my love of golf and have now completely abandoned it. Fitzpatrick should be on that list and there's also a case for Mcllroy.
The women football team will win team comp
Agreed, but rugby league never wins anything. You like a shorty Wiz !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I guess they will but can we have a shout out for the disabled rugby league team.
Not watching belongs in the bin.
Tyson Fury doesn’t even get a friggin nomination.
I hadn't heard of two of them, to be honest.
I'm pretty sure Stokes will win it, but it would be nice if Mead or Muirhead did.
Agreed, but rugby league never wins anything.
The Sports Personality of the Year for me would be Kevin Sinfield. A real personality and a brilliant sportsman.
I'll get back to you if I can be arsed googling them.Razzle
Are you seriously suggesting that his achievements match those of Jessica Gadirova, Eve Muirhead and Jake Wightman ?
I'll get back to you if I can be arsed googling them.
Agreed. The fact that all of the top golf events, majors/ryder cup etc are on Sky doesn't help raise the profile either.I'm with you all the way Razzle, apologies for my sarcasm.
I agree with you that he should have been shortlisted.
Saying that, you have to be honest about golfs profile these days, I would imagine most folk wouldn't recognise Fitzpatrick if he slapped them on the face in the middle of the high street.
Personally, I'd shortlist anybody who wins the US Open golf in any year and thirty years ago anybody who did so would have been automatically shortlisted - the SPOTY format has changed since then and there was no shortlisting in those days but you know what I mean - but nowadays that's clearly not the case.
Come on Tilting.
He's only the undefeated heavyweight champion of the world ?
He's no Jessica Gadirova.
What's the betting that it will be a woman?
Well you nailed that one Dave. What's the betting that it will be a woman?
Was actually a decent watch in fairness.
Defo had something in my eye at Burrows & Sinfield.
He's got a bug and he's knackered following his return to the UK today.Stokes took it well Lol
