Blackpool FC 2023/24 League One Fixtures Thread

Derby away on Good Friday could be the best of the bunch if we're both doing well.

Let's hope we're not on Sky until very deep in the season.
Clocked that one - if we're doing well we might take a few there as don't they give about 3k away allocation?

I'd say they mention the six clubs there who will be our main rivals - interesting Pompey have 6 players already in which goes to show it's possible!
Sort of my point really, they mention Reading and Wigan as two of the bigger sides to come down from The Championship, I didn't realise that Wigan were so highly regarded! So Bolton, Barnsley and Peterborough should all fancy their chances and Portsmouth and Derby have signed players and Charlton are under new ownership, so may be in the mix. I reckon they see us as mid-table not troubling the top or bottom, early days yet, of course, but we certainly don't seem to be regarded very highly.

I was braced to find the fixture list depressing turns out it was much more than depressing than I'd braced for.
We are sounding like 'that club' and 'those fans' aren't we but I think that relegation and that season will take a while to get over and only a really good start can change that.

Just read PNE's fixtures on Twitter and heart sank (there again read the comments below and they are worried they'll follow us in to L1 next season).

What do you think the attendance against burton will be ? I can’t see them bringing more than 500.
If we can only muster up 6.5k home fans then that would be pathetic.

I think we got over 10k 1st game last time vs Bristol, although it was a new owner bounce and a deal, at cheaper prices. The club should have done more no doubt, but still.

We should have grown since then, we regularly have had 10k attending even when not doing so well at high prices in the championship.

We should be well beating 8k for our fans alone.

Yeah there will be be uproar. Might even extend to the training ground.

Against the smaller teams that bring around 200, I can see gates of 5k-6k. We’ve grown the fan base and lost it. That is what happens with a relegation. Blackpool rely heavily on the passive fan and even though the POTG prices are slightly better, still think 26 quid is ridiculous when you look at some of the teams we are playing.
Give over.

I agree the prices aren't optimal but 5-6k...

The club were confident of getting over 6k ST.

Interesting from the Press Association — a fixture difficulty grid, with the top eight (in bookies’ odds) highlighted in red and the eight with the longest odds in blue.

Implies we play a lot of middling teams to start, face a very difficult period through September and early October then have a real chance to pick up some points between then and Christmas.

Crude way of making the calculations, but interesting nonetheless

I daren't look at the Championship fixtures yet because I have Jim Bowen on a loop in my head saying "now this is who you could have been playing"...

Linky thing (Technical term!) to fixtures @ skysports.com, that then lets you add all games to your phone calendar, via option top left.

From a Burton fan on their site:

Blackpool away.
Early start. Hopefully sunny all day. Shorts on.
In the boozers soaking it up. Lots of singing and banter.
Big travelling support singing for 90 mins.
Last minute winner from Stockton
Limbs and fans on the pitch celebrating
Back into the town after for more beers
Get home at midnight with smiles and a hoarse throat.
What a fixture this could be.

They really should be beating teams like Blackpool...........................

Why on earth would they have Reading, who fans have said by their own admission will have to play kids and will have a points deduction, coming 4th?!

Because they’re one of the teams people have heard of and will put money on in an accumulator etc

Remember bookies set odds according to what they think they can make money off, not on who they think will win

Fixtures fallen very well for me as a Southerner who travels up for them. Let's hope the Rail strikes don't put a dent to that.

Looks like il be attending Burton (H), Wigan (H), Derby (H), Charlton (A), Bolton (A), Pompey (A) all before Dec which I am quite pleased with the amount of other plans the mrs keeps putting in.

Wake up, can I be bothered with another season of misery
Won't pay the prices in the boozer and they don't allow singing in a Harvester
Less than 100 travel and we muster one song
Get demolished by a Yates hat-trick
Everyone leaves early
Back in to town but the illuminations aren't on
Get home at 9 for the 1% club, miserable as sin
Football is shite

Great idea to have a thread on this - years gone by you'd log on and there'd be 30 or so threads on the subject!
Glad we're at home first game but does add a bit of pressure.

Are we on about the same burton albion ? They get about 1800 home fans.
Must admit they're smaller than I thought. It's a big game for them and a big day out.

Still, it's about what numbers we can do, we should be getting a good home gate opening game of the season.

The club hasn't exactly excited the fanbase, still time, but we need to do our bit too.

Please post all news of the new fixtures here and we'l move across any threads so not to clog the board up!
Well, that went well and saved loads of space on the board with the pinning of a post that didn't have the fixtures in the op.
Whoever you are that moved my post with the fixtures in the op you must need the power trip doing what you are doing.
Most probably went elsewhere as I did went they couldn't find it or found it hidden at the top of the board minus the fixtures unless you had a trawl down the thread.

Rant over but you do need some common sense lessons.

At the moment I would say thats a justified opinion. Hardly an inspiring squad and currently not much on the “incoming” side of things.
