We've had some absolutely fantastic players from Scotland over the years and so I thought that I'd pick a best XI. Apologies if I've had to squeeze a few into unfamiliar positions but I think this lot would be tough to beat...on their day.
I've gone for a 4 -3 -3
Goalkeeper - George Wood
Back Four - Ewan Fenton, John McPhee, Hughie Kelly, Stephen Crainey
Midfield - Tommy Hutchinson, Charlie Adam, Tony Green
Forwards - Jackie Mudie, Jock Dodds and Allan Brown
Subs: Micky Mellon, Keigan Parker, Colin Methven, Steve McIlhargy,
I've not included players that only played a handful of games hence no Colin Hendry etc
The midfield looks tasty and the front three look hard as nails. Also the team includes players from the 1940s, 50s, 60s,70s and 2010s with subs from the 80s and 90s and 2000s.
Anyone do better? UTMP
